I am venturing into a new chapter of my life !

I knew it would happen one day !

Mam does not want that lady ( friend of a friends niece. sort of thing )
doing her cleaning!

She has decided...she wants me to do it !

ME !!

You all know how rubbish I am at that !

But she doesn't feel comfortable with telling someone what to do .

I said I would do it ...when she is not there !!

Head is a fuddle tonight!!

Mallards.. 2 ingle beds pushed together would be a great idea ...if only they were the same height ! 🤣.

Mallards ...i am convinced I will only see him when he turns up with his washing ...or fancies a quick game on the PS 4/5 or whatever we have got 🤣🤣!!

I have cleaned the kitchen, and now the rib that the tumour broke is hurting like hell. That will teach me to try and be house proud. I need to accept that my house will look like something off of shameless and be done with it.

Funnily enough ...I " Purdy &Figged" my whole kitchen yesterday as well ! 😄!

Now in the middle of cooking the laziest Spag Bol ever ...ever ...ever 🤣🤣!

I did open an OXO cube and a jar of paprika though ...so a bit of effort was made ...!

Testing out some wax melts I came across...

The Winter Cedarwood ...is smelling of Pine toilet cleaner !!

Tilllley, well done on the cleaning. I'm sorry to hear about the pain from the broken rib. I think you're better off hiring a cleaner if you can. And don't be shy about asking for pain relief.

It's a gorgeous spring day here. The high viz blokes from Public Works have already removed the tree stumps from the fallen trees by the reservoir and put down topsoil. It looks like it was one large and possibly two small trees that came down.

The fuel gauge on DS's car stopped working yesterday so we dropped it off at the dealership last night. They found a mouse's nest under the back seat and the mice had chewed through three wires. It was overdue for a regular service and the MOT was coming up in May, so they did those as well. And the back brakes. I think DH is going to pay for it all. I don't want DS to start feeling resentful about all of the money we're spending on his sister's wedding.

Glad spring is arriving there MissC There's a lot of rain here but we do get the odd spring day. Fairly mild at least.

Tilllly Hope you can get some pain relief and take it easy. If a cleaner is an option they can be brilliant.

Bizzey Cahms have been a nightmare and certainly not helped anyone's mental health 😂but they were talking about discharging in the meeting. They've not done anything since September.

Washed sheets and a couple of dresses. Made a sack of rubbish and did some cleaning upstairs.

DH has declared he is making pancakes and I will have mozzerella, parma ham and asparagus. After swimming yesterday we went to McDonalds but they had closed the drive thru so we went on to KFC. DD had told us only to get things for her if we were going anyway. They had no veggie burger so she then asks for mashed potato, beans and sweetcorn 🤔but they had no mash so we got beans, sweetcorn and chips. DD was not impressed saying the chips are not veggie and that if the same happens again we are to immediately text her to let her know about this food crisis so she can make alternative arrangements.

Bought DC3 McD’s tonight, following a superb parent evening. It’s unusual for DC to have it as a treat as the nearest is in the big town. That’s the first time I’ve been this year.

Penguinsa, is it worth contacting your minister of education or MP? I'm unsure of your levels of government. Here, I'd contact the MLA for my region and likely also the Minister of Education (could be the same person if has a cabinet position). The school board is the local, municipal, level. It sounds like you've exhausted the lower level.

Ooh Bizzey I’ve got Purdey and Figg cleaning products too. I’m addicted to Oh de Loo. I knew I had covid when I couldn’t smell it in the bathroom!
I’ve also got Tallow and Ash laundry products, which smell incredible. I think I just like cleaning products with two names.
Tilllly I can’t believe you have a broken rib on top of everything else. I hope you are getting enough pain relief and rest. Because of my mobility problems I struggled today with mopping the floors in the kitchen and living room. It took me an hour, broken into three sections, as I had to keep sitting down in between. It annoys me so much because I feel fine otherwise. I’m thinking about having to get a cleaner as well.
That ice cream looks delicious Havoc. When we were in Portugal when my DiL was pregnant she kept being given extra scoops for the ‘bump’.
My daughter just heard that she didn’t get the job 😪I think I’m a bit more upset than she is.
Onwards and upwards hopefully.
I've been playing on the Wii, frisbee golf today plus archery. I wait until I’m on my own and am loving it. It’s something different that I can do instead of reading or watching television.

Penguinsa, also wondering about your pancakes. It sounds like you are making what we'd call a crepe. Do you use the same term? Are the pancakes quite thin? Do you fold the pancake over the filling?🤔
I also recall an English woman I worked with who made our little office pancakes with lemon and powdered sugar on Pancake Tuesday/Mardi Gras/Shrove Tuesday. The pancakes were quite thin. Her name was Diana (do you know her?) * She was very nice. She said it was an English tradition to make pancakes on Shrove Tuesday. It wasn't something I was familiar with here.
Havoc and baby have both just fallen asleep. I've got the dishwasher on and I'm looking out the glass door to the deck at the quiet, sunny day. Latter and banana bread with walnuts and choc chips and a latte for a snack.

*very old Canadian joke. Refers to peopke not understanding how large (and diverse) our country is. A beer commercial referenced it in the 90's, I think. I'll google and link if possible. It was a very famous commercial.

I googled "Tyler Bucket" and it looks like he went to uni here. He doesn't have a typical American accent. It's a mix of Canadian and American to my ear. My guess is a border state south of Manitoba. 🤔
The commercials shown bring back memories. The Rant was a bit of a reaction to stereotypes/misconceptions and there's a jab or two at the US (sorry!). I vaguely temember the other two commercials.

I am always very interested in the difference between Canadian and American accents .

I don't think I would be able to pick up the subtleties though.

I wonder if it is as marked as our different dialects .

Scouse, Mancunian and Cockney are very easy to distinguish.

And the beautiful Yorkshire accent .

Mam's bank card had had fraudulent activity in it !

It is linked to my phone so I get the notifications, as mam wouldn't know what to do over even notice she had received a text ! 😅..

Bank was alerted as it was an unusual spending habit .....

Err yep ...£49 and £99.99 at a Gym /sports place ..🤣🤣..

Poor love is lucky to get up the stairs sometimes!

It will be refunded and her card has been blocked.

She took the news quite well...though I am not sure she fully understood what I was saying .

She will get a new card then I will activate it for her .

She had been out to lunch with some friends so luckily did not get caught out without a usable card while out.

I was woken at 5 this morning by the opening peal of a massive thunderstorm. Dcat had been snoozing on my bed and jumped up immediately, heading for her safe spot behind the loo. When I got up an hour later, she crept out for her food and returned immediately.

DD4 reported that once the thunderstorm stopped, Dcat spent the morning galloping around with her ears back, and doing that thing cats do where they arch their backs and tippytoe sideways, glaring at you with a mad gleam in their eyes.

I went out after work to buy catfood, with a lovely warm breeze blowing from the south making me regret the light jacket I had been wearing. By the time I parked outside Target, there was a bitter wind blowing from the north.

There are daffodils blooming and also some kind of flowering tree, which I believe are dogwoods. We will have snow flurries on Monday. The river will be dyed green tomorrow, and there will be St Patrick's Day parades all weekend.
