Who is your favourite Gladiator?

We've been watching this every week with the kids and have been pleasantly surprised that it's something that we're all really enjoying, even our hard to drag away from his computer teen boy sits down willingly.

Our family favourite is definitely Legend, he's hilarious and we all hope that when he's competing that he'll be interviewed at the end. Loved the bit where he complained about the lights being in his eyes when he failed on the Wall.

From the women it's a toss-up between Sabre and Fury. Oh to have the confidence of Sabre! And Fury is just awesome and so fierce.

Wolf was a baddie but he was more than a baddie wasn't he. He had more to him. More of a personality.
But Viper is just one dimensional isn't he

Yes, why else do you think I commented about his speed to the PP who said they wouldn’t catch the contender if it was one on one? I’d hardly have pointed out Nitro if he run at the speed of a slug. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I don't find Viper even remotely convincing when he does all that. Nothing like the Wolf of old. Yeah he was actually a better gladiator as well!

Yeah I reckon he'd do a better job all round if he replaced Viper. Even at aged 70! lol :)

Didn’t Wolf sort of fall into the baddie character and then played up to it. He was also a good gladiator and so far I’m not convinced by Viper’s gladiator skills or his acting.

I can't remember how The Wolf's baddie character originated but he was convincing in the role and performed better as a glad. To the contrary Viper fails on both counts. He isn't really much bigger than the likes some contenders like Wes and barely looks a ''gladiator" in my view. I know that physically speaking they have to have gladiators to do the wall type of events but like many I'm drawn to the show because of the glads themselves. I mean, they do look fantastic overall.. Love the cozzies they chose for them too :)

I follow him on Instagram, he looks so young for 32. He's much less wooden on those videos too.

@GemmaC50 check out Viper on Instagram. He is JACKED! He also smiles a lot which sorta ruins his mean guy persona (which is rubbish lol).

I love Legend. He’s such a tit and loves playing up to his persona.

Nitro is my favourite. That cheeky grin and his massive traps!

Totally into Nitro I have to admit.. He's got the most amazing big bouncing pecs. Wouldn't mind copping a good feel of those! lol. Oh yeah his smile's infectious. Have to admit had to google ''traps" but yep am in total agreement!
Although not a personal fave of mine,, I find Legend amusing even if he is such a tit! lol :)

Now the new series has been announced, do you think any of the actual gladiators themselves should be changed? I'm thinking I'd defo stick with Giant, Bionic, Phantom and Nitro for their pure abilities (and hunk) status'! I like Legend too for his sarcastic wit! I know Apollo has his fair share of the female vote too. Not sure about Steel and Viper personally I wouldn't miss them! I think I'd drop Athena and Comet from the females.. Hurts me to say but the blondes definitely hold superiority in the gladiator stakes! lol :)

Ah, no I like Athena and she represents a rarely seen demographic. Elektro doesn't even have a good walk on. She can go. Fire is a bit pants.

Of the men, Viper can go. Pointless and useless.

Like many on this thread I've probably been paying the males more closer attention than the females! lol :) Do get your point on Athena.. Totally agree with you on Viper..He doesn't actually look much bigger than any of the contestants and he just looks like a complete d..k when he acts up imo.

I’d happily see Viper go and I wouldn’t miss Fire, but I think that’s probably because she doesn’t seem to get the opportunities many of the other female gladiators do. I appreciate that Comet is injured so only got to take part in two (?) events but I feel that overwhelmingly it’s always Sabre, Diamond, Dynamite and Fury that do the female events. Other than Viper, the male gladiators seem to be a bit more evenly playing.

I like Fire but she was really bad at Duel the other week.

Aww take your point about Comet. With that said it's always ''team blonde" that do the rough n tough events..Just an observation on my part and I wouldn't ever fancy finding my slightly mature lardy self up against the likes of Diamond or Sabre! Viper does appear a ''common denominator" for removal in addition to the Walsh presenters! lol :)

@GemmaC50 no way, I'd be gutted if Steel went, he is gorgeous ❤️ and I love his background. To go from an overweight teen to one of the fittest men in the UK (I think he may have been ranked the fittest?) is very inspiring. And did I mention how gorgeous he is? 😍

I hate Athena's awkward hand twist, full body jolt and pose in her intro. She should do something else after firing the arrow.

I was convinced Apollo was going to be American until he spoke, he looks just how you'd imagine a jock!

I like Nitro (so smiley) and Diamond. Fury looks a bit scary sometimes, I don't think I'd fancy standing on a podium with her glaring at me!

For eye candy - definitely Apollo 😍 (DH likes Sabre and is most upset she won't be in the final due to her injury!)

I think I struggle most with Viper, as they're trying too hard to make him wolf, but he's only got the "mean guy" part at present, I think because he's not as built as the other gladiators he's very easily brushed aside in the games - Wolf was both the bad guy but fantastic at the games so was an all round formidable opponent

We don't really get to see much of Athena, or hear her speak, so I can't really make a judgement on her
