We gift people chocolate, why not crisps?!

Was thinking earlier how I'd bloody love a selection box of lovely crisps as a present. You know, nice posh ones you wouldn't normally buy yourself.

I may start it off 😂

I put S&V Tyrrell’s on my work secret Santa list - and got them!! Best secret Santa gift ever.

Co Op Christmas Roast Potato Flavour Crisps! I know it sounds daft, but they are DELICIOUS!

Am still cross that they have stopped doing their Gravy Puffs. Which also sounded daft, but by the end of the season every person I knew had a four packet a day habit.

DatingDinosaur · 16/12/2023 13:23

Oh yes to a crisp, or even savoury advent calendar. peanuts, twiglets, crisps, bombay mix..

C'mon KP and Walkers, get your act together Xmas Grin

Pickled Onion Monster Munch hamper for me!

Isthiscorrect · 16/12/2023 13:24

For years I gave DS monster munch for Christmas. One year I wrapped every packet. Another year I wrapped the wmpty box and hid them. Another year they were hidden all over the house. Another year I laid them oh so quietly all over his bed and then shouted loudly so he woke up thrashing an around and squished them before he realised. Another time I did a treasure hunt for them. Another time they were the advent gift with a clue in the calendar. These were teenage years.
My DH would delighted with a box of walkers ready salted. He will not be getting them. He is in absolutely no need of more crisps.

Do it. Go right ahead and gift crisps.

Or a crisp advent calender with all the different types and brands. Dragon's Den, here I come!

Doritos used to do an advent calendar.

Thanks to whoever mentioned Wheat Crunchys I can't get the song from the ad out my head now...

'If you want a crunchy wheaty eaty, then eaty a Wheat Crunchy!'

I apologise! You could always replace it with 'i didn't know you had dandruff...I don't' Xmas Wink

@Isthiscorrect "Another time I did a treasure hunt for them. Another time they were the advent gift with a clue in the calendar. "

I'm stealing these ideas - thank you Smile

I'd be up for joining in with a #givecrispsforchristmas campaign 🤣🙌🏼

I loathe chocolate...really can't stand it! However, being a primary teacher, I get a LOT of it as Christmas and end of year gifts. Of course I'm incredibly gracious and grateful, but I do feel bad that parents have spent their hard earned money buying me something that I just give away. I'd rather they sent me a card or letter saying thank you - or a bag of Kettle Chips, obviously 🤣

Think this has been my most popular thread.

#givecrispsforchristmas 😂

CowboyJoanna · 16/12/2023 21:03

Should prob get some wotsits for my DS too, he LOVES them but is the only one in the house who eats them so he's not had them since going to a friend's party

Onesmallstepforaman · 16/12/2023 21:16

On the strength of this thread I went to home bargains in York this afternoon and got the last 12 pack of tayto . Yes!!

Strikeback · 16/12/2023 21:27

Probably very outing but a colleague once gifted me a multipack of Frazzles for my birthday. It was a memorable moment.

£5 truffle crisps? Real genuine truffle? Why haven’t I seen these? Who makes them? I need to know.

I would like to know where you can buy them ! Sound very yummy 😋

amicissimma · 16/12/2023 21:32

This thread should be in AIBU because you are so NOT unreasonable. And I want to vote!

Crisps all the way. Give chocolate the heave-ho.

Ribenaberry12 · 16/12/2023 21:33

I bought my brother one of those pub cards full of scampi fries for his birthday!

TrackerBar · 16/12/2023 21:34

I don't like fancy ones, but would love a big box of walkers salt and vinegar

BadgerFace · 16/12/2023 21:35

mrsfollowill · 15/12/2023 22:13

I've bought myself one of those cards you get on pub walls with bacon/scampi fries on for Christmas - I think its 50 little bags- I love them and they are hard to get these days - got it from Amazon - I do have other presents as well 😍

I used a Bacon Fries one of these boards as my advent calendar 2 years ago, it was glorious!

Tessisme · 16/12/2023 21:49

My DC are getting a couple of boxes of Pringles and some sour cream and chive pretzels in their stockings!

Moonwatcher1234 · 16/12/2023 21:55

Love all of the suggestions so far and, feeling inspired, went to get a packet. Only snack a jacks left which all right thinking people know doesn’t come close to a crisp. So sad.

DahliaMacNamara · 16/12/2023 22:43

I didn't bother getting myself a chocolate Advent calendar. I usually forget to open them. I'd never forget to open a crisp one. And a selection box wouldn't last long for sure.

TaffyandTeenyTaffy · 17/12/2023 01:17

My parents bought us luggage for Christmas just before we got married... then filled one with crisps and the other with packets of biscuits. Was a great present

UncleHerbie · 17/12/2023 04:46

My husband bought me a box of 24 Golden Wonder cheese & onion crisps for my birthday. Best. Gift. Ever. I eked out those delights for over a month. I’m with you, OP!

Diplidocus4 · 17/12/2023 08:17

Look at Yorkshire crisps as they come in a lovely tub - and for sale in London theatres etc
Two Farmers brand sell a large tin - £15 but I would probably eat the lot in one go .

LOVE crisps
And scratchings / bacon fries etc

Often gift nice bags of nuts (Forest Feast)
