We gift people chocolate, why not crisps?!

Was thinking earlier how I'd bloody love a selection box of lovely crisps as a present. You know, nice posh ones you wouldn't normally buy yourself.

I may start it off 😂

Now this is an excellent idea op. Chocolate tastes like shit these days. I'll have some nice n spicy nik naks and some salt and vinegar kettle chips please.

I buy myself a massive box of Tayto about twice a year. They are the best crisps in the universe.

The answer to your original question, OP, has got to be something to do with packaging. We need something better to make them a viable gift option.

I always bring my husband crisps, especially paprika

OMG, yes!

DD works in a pharmacy. At this time of year their regular customers ply them with boxes of chocolates. She said the other day that she wishes someone would gift them some fancy crisps instead.

She came home for Christmas last year and said "mum, I hope you haven't bought me any chocolate"

I think in my selection box I'd have

Salt and vinegar squares/chipsticks /twirls
Pickled onion monster munch
Bugles
Posh s&v crisps
Canadian ham seabrooks
Ready salted hula hoops.

@siriusblackcat I don't half love this thread- I really think Christmas crisps/maize snack Christmas presents are the way forward. To be fair I love chocolate as well as the savoury snacks and crisps and also have some very nice posh chocolates in my pile of Amazon boxes as well. I'm really having to be strict and not rip everything open.
How do folks feel about peanuts? I love a mix of S&V crisps (squares for preference but any will do!) small bits of cheese cut up and mixed in with KP dry roasted peanuts poured in the bag.
I admit I have an addiction 😂

God yes. I love a sharing bag of cheese and onion walkers as the crisps are bigger inside. Love niknaks, space raiders, wotsits, swirls. I’d quite happily eat them over chocolate any day. Why is there not a crisp advent calendar??

Oh they do advent calendars but bloody expensive!

I'm not a great truffle lover but I do recommend the 'Simply Roasted' crisps on Amazon: they do a truffle one as well as more usual flavours.
(Cheddar and red onion, salted and salt and vinegar). They are scrumptious.

Lidl do some mighty fine salt and vinegar chopsticks that make my tongue hurt for a few days afterwards. Worth it though.

S&V squares
mini cheddars
plain Pringles (S&V make me sweat and burn my mouth 🥴)
