Partly because I’m bored but also because we’ve been through most of the Charlie Bigham ones (or the ones you get in most big supermarkets). I do like the CB chilli con carne & moussaka. What are your favourites (doesn’t have to be CB)?

Beef hash taste the difference from sainsbury's and add my own veg

APurpleSquirrel · 26/11/2023 17:53

CB's Red or Green Thai Curry

Mumaway · 26/11/2023 17:53

Mac and cheese with a load of Worcestershire sauce

Charliebighamfan · 26/11/2023 17:54

Beef hash- hadn’t thought of that! Good idea. I do like the CB curries too although not sure I’ve had both the Thai ones.

Sainsbury's Thai green curry with jasmin rice is seriously yummy

RigorMortisRadio · 26/11/2023 17:54

M&S Tuscan sausage penne (or something like that).

BeyondMyWits · 26/11/2023 17:54

Waitrose own mozzarella stuffed meatballs in tomato and pesto sauce with any fresh linguini.

Tesco finest lasagne. No one else in my house likes lasagne so it’s my treat meal

Charliebighamfan · 26/11/2023 17:55

This is so helpful honestly because I’m going back on chemo soon & I find it hard to have energy to cook so it’s helpful to have some ideas!

Marks and Spencer paella is quite good for a ready meal.

WhatWindyWeather · 26/11/2023 17:56

Not sure what your definition of ready meal is, but I like the Asda Sticky Chinese Style Chicken Stir-Fry Kit. Served up with rice. Very easy, but not a microwave meal per se.

FrenchandSaunders · 26/11/2023 17:57

I love CB fish pie. I find them small for two though. Usually buy two for three people.

M&S Thai green chicken curry is amazing.

Same here I'm the only lasagne lover

Libertass · 26/11/2023 17:59

M&S Our Best Ever lasagne. So good it’s pointless trying to do better yourself.

Charliebighamfan · 26/11/2023 17:59

I’m loving these ideas, I’m going to do a list! I would definitely include quick meal making kits- I’ve bought the Thai curry ones from Aldi before.

I buy this far too often, then serve with rice, salad and raita.

Iceland do a Giant Yorkshire pudding filled with cottage pie, Its really bloody nice. I like a little jug of extra gravy with it, buts its plenty tasty without.

Bbq1 · 26/11/2023 18:00

Lasagne and Moussaka

theduchessofspork · 26/11/2023 18:02

I really like CB fish pie, cottage pie (much better than all the rest), the macaroni cheese is good too.

Cook do good curries, and some good stew type things - pork Dijon and things. Also some oven ones like hunters chicken.

Bootoagoose123 · 26/11/2023 18:02

Does a Cook meal count? I know they aren't in supermarkets but their lasagne is my ultimate fave. And the sticky toffee pudding...

Charliebighamfan · 26/11/2023 18:03

I’ve noticed that a few people have recommended the M&S lasagne so I must try that. The mixed pakoras look good- I do like spicy foods. Love the idea of the giant Yorkshire pudding filled with cottage pie 😂.

Yes I would definitely count Cook! I haven’t had any of those for ages but the ones I had were good. I’ll look out for the stews & puddings!

Defo the M&S lasagne!

RabbitsRock · 26/11/2023 18:07

I used to love an Iceland ready made risotto with salmon, peas & broccoli but it’s not been in for weeks now dammit! DH & I like Asda curries as they’re very generous portions. The lamb rogan josh is good.

mrsbyers · 26/11/2023 18:08

The M&S four cheese pasta is nice or CB’s cottage pie but only buy when yellow stickered - very rare we eat ready meals tbh
