What’s your favourite ready meal?

Partly because I’m bored but also because we’ve been through most of the Charlie Bigham ones (or the ones you get in most big supermarkets). I do like the CB chilli con carne & moussaka. What are your favourites (doesn’t have to be CB)?

From Lidls finest range, both the ham hock gratin and steak hash - just shove in the oven with some green veg on the side. Both delicious 👌
Lidls finest lasagne is nice enough too.

Lidl also do hot smoked salmon fillets (lemon and herb one is especially nice) in the fish section and they're ready cooked so just served straight from the fridge with some salad/coleslaw etc is a lovely fresh change from ready meals but zero effort

Morrisons finest version Mac and cheese is also lovely!

Sainsbury's Thai green curry with jasmin rice is seriously yummy

I'm tempted to get this! How spicy would you say it is?

CrushingOnRubies · 26/11/2023 20:57

My favourite is the Sainsbury's sweet and sour chicken

I'm not a huge fan of vegetarian ready meals so don't get them often but when I ate meat, I absolutely loved the Tesco Bourbon beef and mash. It was absolutely delicious

Cook vegetable lasagne is delicious. Pricey, but worth it for a treat when you can't be arsed to cook.

Cathedral City 'Our cheesy lasagne'.

It's the only frozen lasagne I like.

Charliebighamfan · 26/11/2023 21:30

Thanks again so much to everyone that’s commented & sorry I can’t respond to you all. I have read all of your messages & appreciate all of the suggestions- some really delicious sounding meals. Also it has reminded me of things like buying the cooked marinated salmon & either warming it or serving cold with salad. I’ve really lost my food mojo lately so this is helping.

I agree it’s amazing.

SheilaFentiman · 26/11/2023 21:48

I didn’t know about cathedral city lasagna, will look out for it

COOK have a mushroom risotto and a chicken satay which is more of a mild peanut curry and is really good. M and S chicken and bacon pasta too..

Charliebighamfan · 26/11/2023 21:53

I didn’t know that Cathedral City did ready meals either!

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe · 26/11/2023 22:24

Not normally a fan of ready meals - the E Numbers freak me out 😆, but I quite like a ready meal curry. Chuck it on some chips. My guilty pleasure when no one is watching.

TheLadyIsAVamp · 27/11/2023 00:57

@TastesLikeStrawberriesOnASummerEvening are you in Scotland by any chance? I love pakora but since I moved to England very few supermarkets sell a decent one. I can get tiny ones in Morrisons and Iceland do some decent ones but the ones you've posted look lovely.
