Let's just let Hitler annex Czechoslovakia. That way we'll have peace in our time, right?

If the white flag was raised, the Russians wouldn’t just march peacefully into Kyiv. No, they'd rape and murder their way in. These days they are second only to Hamas in their barbarity. I'd compare the Russian army to animals but that would be an insult to rats.

Big Lies around again, I see .... or his ilk.

@blueshoes thank you very much for taking over the last few days. The English horde have departed on a stormy day, hopefully the ferry won't be too bad - apparently the Eurotunnel flooded yesterday so there is absolutely no spare space on the ferries.

Fucking hell, this is racist. Thunderingly so.

Ukrainians as puppets of the West, without agency, incapable of understanding and pursuing their own interests. Not like real humans, eh? Just say, you don't think they're equal to Westerners and save yourself the effort of typing all that shit out.

Looking at Transmumm's post again

They have 6-12 months left before capitulation and the prospect of an overwhelming Russian victory. Any negotiations now won't have even half of the concessions that were previously offered

The ISW is very clear that Russia is trying to encourage negotiations while not being interested in any genuine talk; their aims are maximalist and always were.

Other than the maladjusted Liebig and his many many name changes, this thread was actively targeted by the Russian shills and the bots at the start.

I reckon we've been targeted again.

πŸ”»Ukraine approved military strategy for next year, β€” Zelenskyy
β€œWe analyzed what we did right and what we could have done better. Taking into account these conclusions, forecasts and our capabilities, we determined the strategy for using the Defense Forces for the coming year,” the president noted.

According to reports from WP, the Russian Federation is actively pursuing a strategy to diminish support for Ukraine within France. Kremlin documents, acquired by European intelligence agencies, reveal instructions from Sergei Kiriyenko, Putin's deputy chief of staff, directing efforts to sow political discord in France. This strategy involves leveraging social media, engaging French politicians, opinion leaders, and activists.
However, Thomas Gomar, director of the French Institute of International Relations, notes an increase in visibility for pro-Russian social media accounts in France. Concurrently, there's a rise in approval ratings for far-right political parties in the country.

Ukrainian security sources told Western and Ukrainian media that on the night of December 29-30, Ukrainian forces launched more than 70 drones against Russian military infrastructure and defense-industrial facilities near Moscow, Belgorod, Tula, Tver, and Bryansk.
The Russian Ministry of Defense said that Russian forces intercepted 32 Ukrainian drones in the Bryansk, Oryol, Kursk and Moscow regions.
Analysts note that the discrepancy between the Russian and Ukrainian figures may indicate that Ukrainian forces hit many of the intended targets.

πŸ‡΅πŸ‡± No traces of the Russian missile that flew into the country's airspace the day before were found in Poland. The search operation has already been completed, and approximately 500 Polish military personnel participated in it.

Ukrainian manufacturers have successfully developed and are presently testing their own RunFlat technology inserts for car tires, aiming to reinforce the wheels of combat pickups.
RunFlat inserts serve as specialized components within car tires, enabling vehicles to continue operating even when the tires are punctured or damaged. This technology proves invaluable during scenarios like evacuating the wounded, executing combat missions, or delivering supplies to the Defense Forces. It allows the military to sustain movement without risking safety by avoiding necessary stops due to tire damage.
The development team now intends to progress towards mass production and broaden their product lineup to encompass larger armored vehicles, further enhancing Ukraine's capabilities in this field.

πŸ’₯Explosions and fires in the center of Belgorod due to a mistake of the Russian air defense, β€” the source of the "Ukrainian Pravda" newspaper in the special services
It is noted that the Defense Forces of Ukraine worked on Russian military facilities in the Belgorod region, but due to the unprofessional actions of the Russian air defense, the debris fell in the center of the city.

Czech Foreign Minister Jan LipavskΓ½ reacted to Russia's desire to summon the Czech Republic to a meeting of the Security Council due to the alleged use of Czech "Vampire" surface-to-air missiles during the shelling of Belgorod.

Live: Ukraine Telegram Highlights from yesterday 15:37

President Volodymyr Zelensky held a final meeting. It summarized the military results of the year, analyzed the results of combat operations and determined the strategy of the Defense Forces for the coming year.
”This year, Ukraine has not retreated in any direction on the ground, regained the sea and made the sky safer. We continue to work as a team.”

Yesterday, the National Guard shot down a Russian cruise missile with conventional machine guns in the sky over Kyiv region, the Interior Ministry reported.
The missile’s fuel tanks exploded, it lost control, altitude and crashed.

❗️❗️In Kharkiv, a residential building in the city center was hit, writes Mayor Terekhov. There is serious damage and a fire has broken out. Information about the victims is being clarified. There is also destruction of civilian infrastructure.

At night, the Air Defense Forces shot down 21 Shahed drones out of 49 launched by Russia. The enemy also attacked Kharkiv with six S-300 missiles.

On the eve of the New Year, the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine included Traditions of Celebrating Malanka in Ukraine in the National List of Elements of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Ukraine, which is celebrated from December 31 to January 1.
Malanka is the popular name for the holiday (also called Generous Evening or Rich Christmas Eve). The whole family gathers at the festive table, and the best dishes are put on the table, including generous kutia (porridge made from wheat and barley grains cooked in water with honey, poppy seeds, nuts and dried fruits) and uzvar (a traditional drink made from dried fruits and berries). After the feast, it is customary to apologize to each other. Later, young people traditionally dress up and go carolling*. You can learn more about the traditions of the holiday, such as symbolic costumes, caroling, goat-driving, fortune-telling, and celebrations, on Patreon and Buy Me Coffee. I guess Mumsnet Towers have skeleton staff on.

But fyi, @Transmumm , the info I post has at least two EXTREMELY high profile individuals following it, as in world-wide known, and one fairly high profile (Ukraine war related) individual. So I'll keep right on, thanks for your fairly useless advice ;)

I checked a few weeks ago if people here are still finding it useful and was quite happy with the numbers. If it got down to single-numbers I wouldn't do it any more, but it's way over.

Yet you trotted out all that magnificently racist drivel yesterday. Poor Ukies, can't be expected to know what's good for them or to act in their own interests, just not as clever as you. Funny how you only backtracked now, bigot.

What you wrote reflects your low opinion of Ukrainians. You could only have written what you did if you thought they were less than. Not capable of making decisions for themselves, not entitled to agency, and better off with more Buchas. This makes you a racist. The fact that you haven't the wit to engage with that and are instead reduced to waaahing speaks volumes. But that's usually the way with Putin apologists who've got notions.
