Fun though it may be for you to create your own narrative construct of Ukraine as a pawn without agency, your description doesn't match the reality.

The rest of us remember Ukraine going round other countries (Western and majority world) BEGGING for military support because it had decided to fight. Zelensky memorably turned down the offer for a ride out to save his family: "I don't need a ride, I need ammunition."

Whether Ukraine manages to keep its hard-fought-for independence depends on decisions not yet made: by itself, by its allies, and by enemies of Putin within Russia (like the late Prigozhin). There is no inevitability.

And the fact that so much depends on future decisions IS WHY there's such an effort by the Russian information and PR machine at the moment to isolate Ukraine from its allies and from neutral countries.

Russia could chose to pack up its troops and go home. If it tried to retain only Crimea, it might even manage that.

But no. It is continuing to prosecute war within Ukraine and even attempting to take further Ukrainian territory.

Russia hasn't lost. But it is a very, very long way from anything that looks like winning.

Hence the efforts being put into the information war.

I would be slightly interested in hearing @Transmumm detail the "concessions" he or she believes Russia has offered to the country it has invaded.

Given Russia's starting move was to try to take Kyiv, and this was defeated militarily.

What a surprise, the lovely Transmumm has popped in, made a fool of herself and then disappeared. Classic low rent drive by.

The language seems familiar. I believe we may have met @Transmumm before and that s/he may be the reincarnation of the artiste formerly known as Liebig.

These bombings remind me of Hitlers last ditch efforts over Britain with the V2 bombers. They know thay can't win, are losing men at a ridiculous rate an are resorting to mass bombings as a panicked reaction to try to break morale.

They know the planes are coming and will give Ukraine an advantage.

I coincidentally made a donation to Ukraine today. Must have sensed that Liebig was going to make a festive visit.

Perhaps you could link, @Transmumm, since you already know what material you're talking about?

Though of course Putin does have the problem of all habitual liars, that no one believes his promises. So that might make the details of any supposed "concessions" mute.

What did you think of Putin's killing of Prigozhin, @Transmumm , after "doing a deal" with him to stop the Wagner rebellion?

@Transmumm are you familiar with the purpose of the @ symbol on here? It’s to reply directly to someone, not to get a reaction. As for being “seething”, don’t flatter yourself. It takes a far more incisive approach than yours. The real beauty of all this though is that you are back, in full flow, and showing your very unpleasant true colours. And you can't link to the places you supposedly found other people listing "concessions"?

But you'd like me to waste my time running around googling, trying to guess which results you might have been referring to?

(I'm leaving aside the obvious problem of what the heck does the word "concession" even mean, from an invader who has attempted to take over a whole country and been repelled by military force. Russia is the party making demands; it's not in a position to make "concessions" – other than to pack up and go home.)
