Blackfish. It's about the capture of killer whales for SeaWorld in Florida. Heartbreaking but a really good documentary.

I’ve just finished Take Care of Maya - very interesting and moving, especially as the final development of the case is in the news at the minute

Horrifying isn't it

The Woodstock documentary on Netflix, it’s the 2nd Woodstock in about 2000 I think. It was really good. Cheer on Netflix is good.

The nazi officers wife- available on YouTube. Its about a young Jewish girl who changed her identity during the holocaust and ended up married to a nazi officer.

BestIsWest · 13/11/2023 14:16

The World At War - I remember being riveted and horrified by this as a teenager. So important to get the testimony of those who were there.

The Farthest

It’s a film about the Voyager 1 and Voyager 2 space probes which were launched in 1977 (and are still travelling through space now, a very very very long way away!).

There are loads of wonderful interviews with the scientists involved in the mission and they come across as just amazing people, so natural and enthusiastic about what they were doing, and quite funny at times too. There also quite a lot on how they designed and created the golden record, one of which was placed on each probe. I just loved this film, it was so nice to watch something which was compelling and inspiring, not upsetting or heart wrenching! For additional fun, Google the golden record and then have a think about which songs and other things you would put on it to represent humanity to another life form…

Voyager is, in my view, the best mission ever, even more significant than the moon landings. What it achieved in terms of increasing our knowledge of our solar system is incredible, and in 1977 there was a once-in-a-lifetime planetary alignment in which they could launch it. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

@lucillevanpelt sounds great. I was always fascinated about the golden record's and the politics involved!

The Deepest Breath on Netflix about free diving.
I watched it again straight after and been watching free diving on YouTube ever since.
But it's the opening sequence of her dive that choked me up. Just mesmerising and emotional.

Agree with many here about Blackfish. So good

The last Breath and the deepest breath.

And now I’m so scared of the ocean!

I don't know anyone other than me that watched the Deepest Breath. Wasn't it amazing. I can't get it out of my head. It's the silence and darkness and being completely alone.

The game changers and what the health? Watched during lockdown and changed my diet as a result.
