There is currently a Netflix series called escaping twin flames which is worth watching. It's about a cult that is still going today.

‘Scottsboro: An American Tragedy’

About the miscarriages of justice of 9 Black American teenagers falsely accused of raping a white woman in 1931 Alabama.

Wild Wild Country
The Beckham one on Netflix
Evil Genius

My favourite is TK watch a really good one and then Google the hell out of it afterwards.

Mission to the edge of space about Felix Baumgartner.

I felt sick in the pit of my stomach watching this, despite knowing it was a successful mission.

So many great suggestions on this thread.

‘The Cheshire Murders’ - probably the most disturbing true crime documentary I’ve seen and I don’t think it’s a well known case this side of the pond.

I don't know anyone other than me that watched the Deepest Breath. Wasn't it amazing. I can't get it out of my head. It's the silence and darkness and being completely alone.

I know it’s absolutely mental!

Have you seen Free Solo, and even better - The Dawn Wall? Amazing stuff.

I’ve seen Free Solo but not The Dawn Wall.

Will watch, thank you

Blink1880 · 13/11/2023 22:20

Dear Zachary - but it’s heartbreaking (on Netflix- watched it years ago and have never forgotten it).

also Icarus on Netflix

Race to the summit was much better than I thought it would be.

The World At War - I remember being riveted and horrified by this as a teenager. So important to get the testimony of those who were there.

Absolutely agree. The World At War is, in my opinion, some of the best TV ever made; educational, insightful, heartbreaking. Made in the 70s but still very relevant.

sashh · 14/11/2023 05:36

Sorry to be a pain but could some of you who have just listed a documentary with no other detail give me an idea of the content? Things like World at War is obvious but not something like 'Jinx'.

I've just remembered this one. Aberfan - Sorrow and the Stirring of New Life. It is about Aberfan, not the disaster but what happened next, it was an assignment for I.C. Rapoport a photographer for Time magazine. Beautiful and equally tragic photographs.

The IMDb app is useful for looking this up
