Things people do that make you cringe?

People posting photos of their holiday on social media with a caption like “this is how my Monday morning is looking”. Like calm down Joanne, you’ll be back in the office by next Monday.

Middle management telling me they pay my wages.

People thinking that are different and edgy because they wear Dr Martens (I do still love the boots though)

The names of coffees make me cringe and hearing people in the UK say them. There's something ridiculous about a plain black coffee being called an Americano, let alone hearing people struggle and get confused with all this mocha latte-machiatto-frappuchino stuff-. Or is it just me who thinks that?

Spirro · 10/11/2023 21:17

People who mix their food up on the plate. You mix it in your mouth where nobody can see, not on the plate where everyone has to look at it!

Nitgel · 10/11/2023 21:17

Whooping at fhe theatre

Differentstarts · 10/11/2023 21:17

People who are incredibly guliable for e.g. write amen on this post or the dr won't perform surgery on my baby or share this post otherwise Facebook is going to start charging. I just don't understand how adults can be this stupid

Gintastic1 · 10/11/2023 21:18

I have a 2 year old and a 1 year old, our local supermarket do not offer trollies for two children to sit in. So I have no choice but to put my two year old sitting down (always with no shoes on) in the trolley and she is not allowed to stand. On the one occasion I did not place her in the trolley, she ran away from me. After reading how judged I might be for this I think I’m going to ask my supermarket to supply twin trollies!!

Helenahandkart · 10/11/2023 21:18

Maelil01 · 10/11/2023 21:11

That was my point!
My list was of plurals which are correct but increasingly got wrong.
….and no, neither rooves or hooves is acceptable.

Yes they are. Check your dictionary.

Men in uncomfortably tight looking trousers teamed with loafers and no socks.
People who clearly rate themselves and are constantly looking around to see if anyone has noticed them.

Add in a blazer and a man bun 🤮 😆

People allowing their children to stand in shopping trollies….especially if their shoes are minging dirty (actually even if their shoes aren’t that grubby it’s still totally unacceptable in my book).

😂😂😂😂😂

Worriednanof1 · 10/11/2023 21:20

Chewbecca · 10/11/2023 19:55

Er, because trollies are for food. No one wants the debris from shoes on their shopping. Children too big for the built in seats should walk.

It's also dangerous. I know a child who ended up in a & e when he fell out head first.

Whistling
People talking loudly on their phones
Kids in hairdressers/nail salons etc

Where are children meant to go when their hair needs cutting?

Adults who go to Disney World without children. Of all the places in the world that you could visit you choose a children's theme park!?!
Also people who exaggerate every story they tell you, or just outright make shit up. I work with a woman who does this and it baffles me.

I take it you’ve never been to WDW or DLP? They’re definitely not just for kids. There’s loads of rides that little kids can’t even go on.

Totally unashamed Disney Adult here as you can tell 🤷‍♀️

TulipCat · 10/11/2023 21:21

Every time I see etc written as ect I feel the urge to scream.

Colette88 · 10/11/2023 21:21

TheShellBeach · 10/11/2023 19:49

Eh?
What's wrong with this?

Because I don't want to put my food on top of your kids shoe dirt

Whooping at fhe theatre

I find that whooping in any confined space maddening and weirdly upsetting. Also people who write that 'whoop whoop' thing on social media posts. I always instinctively feel they are to be avoided.

Illbebythesea · 10/11/2023 21:21

When a bunch of women spend their Friday night belly aching on social media about things that annoy them. So cringe that.

hermioneee · 10/11/2023 21:22

StiggyZardust · 10/11/2023 20:19

People who chop up spaghetti before eating it.

This makes me so so sad.

Don't take your kids shoes of in a trolley, trollies are extremely dirty. People worrying about their food going in the same trolly as a child's shoes clearly don't see where food comes from and is the reason you wash all unpackaged food

SM4713 · 10/11/2023 21:22

MIL that allows her dogs to lick between her toes or lick a bleeding wound on her leg and doesn't stop them! 😱

BigMadAndy · 10/11/2023 21:22

Hearing the phrase "without further ado" or "without much further ado" at every bloody work presentation/meeting.

Enoughhhhhh. Say something else!

Nellieinthebarn · 10/11/2023 21:22

People who use the 'awesome' to describe fairly ordinary events or phenomena. Oh, and pajamas as daywear in public.

Doobydoo · 10/11/2023 21:23

Any linkedin profile. I have worked with people who have bigged themselves up on there.....completely cringe at the wording and they have never lived up to their own hype

Just keep doing what you’re doing and don’t worry about people ‘judging’ you.
