People posting photos of their holiday on social media with a caption like “this is how my Monday morning is looking”. Like calm down Joanne, you’ll be back in the office by next Monday.

Middle management telling me they pay my wages.

People thinking that are different and edgy because they wear Dr Martens (I do still love the boots though)

OP posts:

People who say ‘Simples’ or ‘just sayin’

DH and I are friends with a lovely couple but the guy hawks every few minutes. CANNOT STAND IT. DH doesn’t notice.

unreasonableornothelp · 11/11/2023 19:11

People who say “can I get” when ordering food in a restaurant. I always want to say so it’s fine I work here I will get it for you 🤣

TheShellBeach · 11/11/2023 19:11

Aluminum.

I'll just leave that there.

Mollygoodgolly · 11/11/2023 19:13

Grown people describing things as Awesome! They're not teenagers and neither are they Yoof. Constantly saying Wow!

romatheroamer · 11/11/2023 19:14

Can I get....is pretty standard in the US but to me it always sounds like "and I'm not going to pay for it..."

This doesn’t just make me cringe, I have an existential crisis…I can’t go to Starbucks anymore but that’s probably a good thing.

Adults liking Disney.

Yes this!!!

People on mumsnet who latch on to a small typo in the OP, pretend they can’t understand the entire post because of it, then derail the thread going back and forth on it with others who pile in.

Yep! Hope they get the hint!

lyingonthebeach · 11/11/2023 19:19

People who can't hold/use cutlery correctly
Men in flip flops
People who take photos of EVERYTHING (and non-stop selfies) and then share them (just enjoy the moment)
People who say gotten
People who think they are being sophisticated but who can't correctly pronounce things like bruschetta, tagliatelle, croissant, rioja, latte................
People who write 'of' instead of 'have' (would of, should of........arghh!)
People who clearly have no manners
People using their phones on speaker in public so we all get to hear two sides of a conversation which has nothing to do with us
Music/films on phones without earphones to that tinny noise is an irritating background to our own activities.

I think I need to stop now.

Blueink · 11/11/2023 19:21

I cringe at people saying they “prepping” for something when they put the oven on and chopped an onion

Museum1066 · 11/11/2023 19:21

When people try to bluff that they don't understand a topic when having a discussion rather than learning

CambridgeLass · 11/11/2023 19:21

Chewbecca · 10/11/2023 19:55

Er, because trollies are for food. No one wants the debris from shoes on their shopping. Children too big for the built in seats should walk.

You do realise that those trollies have rats/foxes/cats etc running all over them every night don’t you?

Appleass · 11/11/2023 19:23

People calling each other " babe " ! I hate hate hate it, especially since a friend calls her partner it, her partner calls her it and even worse her DAD calls her it ...... really really goes through me.

Surroundedbyfools · 11/11/2023 19:23

The trolleys are dirty anyway ! They sit outside, birds land on them and shit on them. Tbh I only put my toddler right in the trolley because he becomes feral at the shops and climbs out the seat. It’s a nightmare !

Justontherightsideofnormal · 11/11/2023 19:25

-Adults talking like a baby.

-work colleagues (or one in particular) using mispronunciation of an adult name that a child has mispronounced (due to additional needs) in a school setting. For example adult is Julie . Child says Goolie. Then adult always calls the other adult goolie in a childish voice.

-continual filtered selfie photos that look nothing like the actual person. On average 5 per day. also talking about their body is a temple “clean eating” whilst tucking into a Cornish pastie in the staffroom.

-people talking with the hand over there mouth/finger touching mouth.

I’ve so many more but don’t want to come over as a fun sponge 🫣

Completelydonechick · 11/11/2023 19:25

You people are a sensitive bunch 😂😂😂

maltchocmilkshake · 11/11/2023 19:26

Use the phrase ‘so many sleeps until…’; surely adults are capable of counting in days or nights? Not ‘sleeps’?!

KinS24 · 11/11/2023 19:30

People who say ‘passed’ instead of died.

paddlinglikecrazy · 11/11/2023 19:32

Yeah, I love squash too.
adults that use the words grown ups make me cringe a bit though 😆

Viviennemary · 11/11/2023 19:32

Folk who say or write gotten.

Justploddingon · 11/11/2023 19:34

Asking for a friend 😆

KinS24 · 11/11/2023 19:34

People who WHOOP. Like WHOOOOOO in audiences.
People who fucking video anything and everything. They look so dumb. Car crash?👀 accident? 👀

BlinkinKnackered · 11/11/2023 19:35

When someone makes a thread about their baby and they say something like "baby has been teething so baby hasn't been sleeping. I've tried everything to settle baby..." instead of THE baby

ClaireMillar · 11/11/2023 19:36

It’s unhygienic .. do we need to explain this??

ClematisBlue49 · 11/11/2023 19:38

Agree on the whooping - really grates.

People who use the word like several times in each sentence, as in "I'm like... and she was like..." , or the word literally for emphasis. I'm like, literally cringing as I type this.
