You’re out for a coffee, cake and people watching in a cafe, what annoys you and spoils the experience?

People who “talk” so loudly that even in a busy cafe you can follow their full conversation.

People on phone calls using loudspeaker or Facetime, even with headphones, so annoying!

Kids running around, in between table and chairs.

Tablets with no headphones. People loudly stirring sugar into their drink and smashing the spoon off the side like they are communicating to Norway in morse code.

A random man saying 'Enjoying that, love?' or 'Should you be eating that?'

Parents at the next table giving a lovely performance. Hugo, would you like a babyccino? Hugo is that nice? Hugo is that yummy? You like that don’t you my darling! Mummy’s having a coffee, shall I cut you a piece of this croissant? This is lovely, isn’t it? Do you like your yummy croissant? Do you need the toilet? Let’s have our yummy croissant then go to the toilet, shall we darling?

Screaming kids, over friendly dogs, loud blokes going on about football or cars, seeing people hogging a whole table with a laptop,

No noises as my AirPods would be in.

But messy tables (gross) and people banging into my chair as they walk past. That's a serious offence 😁

Kids - if I've managed to get away from my own, ideally other people's wouldn't be in my peaceful coffee and cake bubble

I agree about the people who have loud voices and no self awareness. I have asked for some noise cancelling headphones for Christmas for this very purpose.

Children screaming and running around.
Sticky tables.
Cigarette smoke blowing in from outside.

It's more about the cake, dry cake and I'll cry.

Background music that is so loud I can’t hear what friends are saying. And yes, as people say, the best cake having sold out. I have never forgiven a friend who faffed about so much trying on shoes ( which in the end she didn’t buy) that by the time we got to Betty’s they had sold out of curd tarts. Yes you Louise, I have a long memory.

People who choose to have a meeting or interview, whether it's online or in-person. A busy coffee shop where people are relaxing is not the place to have an hour-long conversation about your business. Do it from home, go to the office or hire a space. Quiet working on your laptop is fine, but not droning on and on.

People talking loudly about boring boring things. If it's juicy I don't mind listening in! But it never is. Just moronic self important droning at an incredible volume.
