He says he knows it will never happen, but he wants Friends to be at the bottom of the list of things he’s remembered for.

He wants to be remembered first and foremost for helping other addicts.

His name was Matthew Perry.

The rumour is that Fidel Castro is Justin Trudeau's real father. Same as Chelsea Clinton's real father is Hillary's old law firm colleague Webster Hubbell

How sad and upsetting for his family. Why do people do drugs then get in baths/ pools/hot tubs, hadn't he heard what happened to Whitney?
With his well documented history regarding addictions you can't help thinking he was sadly always going to die prematurely though.

I had read it was a therapeutic dose used to wean addicts off opioids. So not necessarily due to drug abuse as such bit a risk factor,

I'm surprised by the publishing of a very lengthy, detailed autopsy report.
They didn't find any illegal drugs in the house so I wonder where the ketamine came from? Did someone hand deliver that one dose? It's weird.

Here comes the milkman of human kindness. 🙄 he was an actor with a pretty horrible addiction - not a bloody war criminal. I am pretty sure addiction is not a choice, no matter how many decisions you make to get to that point.

i feel sad that he couldn’t get clean or well. His work brought a lot of happiness to a lot of people. I can stick friends on when I’m feeling sad and some of the lines make me smile, no matter how depressed I’m feeling, and as I’ve said a number of times on threads about MP, the episode where Monica and Chandler get engaged makes me sob, even on my hundredth re-watch. Extra poignant now.

I hope he is at peace now.

he'd had ketamine therapy for depression apparently, but that was 1.5 weeks prior to his dying and they said that the ketamine from that therapy wouldnt have been present in such a high (high enough to use as a general anaesthetic) dose.

I know and it sounds like he had quit the booze and all other drugs found were at a therapeutic dose so he must’ve gone out of his way to get some ket for fun??? Such a blinking shame

Why would someone prescribe ketamine to a drug addict?

I believe some (ill-advised imo) practitioners do indeed give addicts ketamine in mental health facilities, in the UK anyway.

Surely this just makes them want more. I can't imagine many think that was nice I'll wait until my next appointment for the next dose.

When celebrities die prematurely I think it’s safe to say that drugs are almost always the cause.
unfortunately drugs are so rife in the entertainment industry that it’s more common to be a drug user than not.
it’s a sad state of affairs all round.

Opoid addiction in the States is really terrifying. The other thing that is terrifying is that we can put men on Mars, but can't make humans with every advantage, happy. ( I know, not a very original thought).

Same reason Librium is still given to recovering alcoholics. It can aid recovery hugely, but can also go the very other way. Poor Matthew.

I really hoped he was clean when he died because he so wanted it. Maybe it was therapeutic? Apparently it causes hallucinations so that might have been comforting to him? Or does it just take the edge off so it's soothing?

It just doesn't make sense for him to take so much that it shows up during tests and his assistant wasn't even gone for long. Or maybe even a small therapeutic amount shows up?

I know nothing about drugs though (as you can tell).

It's so sad.
