You need my DD there Bizzey she would send a list of 100 essential items. 😂She's thin but very sporty and eats a lot, all the fancy drinks as well. The food budget for her is about the same as rest of us put together.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 06/12/2023 03:47

I'm so impressed with your swimming, Silkie!
😃
Went to aquarium again to try for Santa pic... no go. Explored exhibits a bit more, watched seals swim, sea otters get fed and sea lion play a bit. Chased Havoc around. Died. 🥵
Admired pink wine goblets and coffee cups in gift shop ($) again, then drove downtown for errand to exchange Havoc's runners and had a nutella and banana crepe. After that, walked to the art gallery to look at the christmas tree and then came home. Have got salmon and baby potatoes in oven. Have just helped Havoc into Halloween costume 😹 and have got a Jamie Oliver Christmas cooking show on tv.

And these guys and a couple of their friends were meandering in the intersection holding up traffic earlier this afternoon. Not a care in the world, cuz y'know they know they're protected here. The arrogance, really.
Total abuse of power. 🤦‍♀️----

bizzey · 06/12/2023 14:43

Havoc ..you are so busy !
Love that little havoc keeps wanting to wear the Halloween costume 😅😅!

What are the birds ?

My toe is unbelievably sore still 😭!

I had to get up in the night to take a painkiller.
Can't believe I need painkillers for a stubbed toe !

Going a beautiful colour now though 😂.

Normally I would be all for the rest and elevate treatment with TV and Netflix....just typical I have to stub it when I am meant to be doing loads !!

bizzey · 06/12/2023 14:47

Silkie..i would love you DD to do my shopping list as well...!😂

Mumtobabyhavoc · 06/12/2023 15:19

Bizzey, Canada geese. Federally protected.
I wonder if you've broken your toe? Or, possibly dislocated the joint? Stubbing it resolves much more quickly and doesn't tend to involve discolouration...🤔
Sounds like I do a lot, but I don't think so, really. Havoc will ask for costume morning, noon, night. ☺️

Been awake since about 4am. Ugh. 4 1/2 hrs sleep. Lying in bed feel totally awake. When I get up and walk around I feel like a zombie. 🤷‍♀️
Should take Havoc to school this morning as next week will be a challenge. Realized yesterday when looking at my calendar cannot make it to gymnastics next week as I have an ultrasound appt and only two weeks left. Unsure about getting to last class, too, as it will be just a week before baby comes...🤔🤔🤔

sueelleker · 06/12/2023 20:11

Bizzey; I sprained my big toe once; I was walking to work in the snow, and slipped. When I got to work and took my sock off, the whole toe looked like a purple sausage!

MissConductUS · 06/12/2023 20:55

Bizzey, you should have a doctor look at the toe. It might be a fracture or sprain. Not that they can do much about those other than giving you a boot to immobilize it.

Havoc, waking up very early and unable to go back to sleep, has plagued me for years. When it's chronic, it's called early final awakening syndrome. I take a prescription sleeping tablet for it, and it still happens.

Last night, the cats cornered a wee mouse in the living room. We get them occasionally in the cold weather as they seek a warm place. The cats hadn't injured it; they were just trying to capture it. DH was walking by, noticed the hubbub and picked it up with a piece of kitchen roll, and put it outside. The cats were dismayed that their prey escaped.

MallardsMoorhensAndLethe · 07/12/2023 00:23

I'll bet the mouse was relieved though MissC. I can just imagine the cats faces!

Bizzey unless you're some special level of wuss, painkillers for a stubbed toe ain't normal. Sure it's not broken?

Today I've mostly been forgetting to turn the heating on and freezing my tits off as a result. Too tired to think. Decided to display some photos of dead relatives for Christmas. Not sure why, just feel the need. Stupid and weird in one day! Wow. Wonder what tomorrow will bring? 😅

bizzey · 07/12/2023 01:09

Mallards ..that has made me laugh , as I was thinking the exact same thing at 3.30am in the kitchen ! 😂😂.

bizzey · 07/12/2023 01:30

I know it is more than just an annoying stubbed toe.
But whether it is bruised or broken they won't do anything.
It is not displaced or anything.

It is the 4th toe.
Just frustrating at the rubbish timing of it all !

But thank you all for your kind concerns 🥰.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 07/12/2023 02:23

Had obgyn appt today then went to Costco. Sooooo tired now. Got easy dinner in the oven: chicken thighs over carrots, mushrooms and corn on the cob. Got another Jamie Oliver Christmas episode on tv, Havoc is in Halloween costume and rainboots and watching the show. "Ohhhh, cooking," said Havoc before sitting down. 🤷‍♀️

Mallards, your post made me chuckle. 🩷
Bizzey, call your doctor for appt. 😠
Miss, sleep issues are pregnancy related right now. 🤷‍♀️

Mumtobabyhavoc · 07/12/2023 02:27

Tillly.... cheeky, cheeky. 🙈
🎄

whyyy321 · 07/12/2023 09:06

You are all so busy!

I'm envious of your swimming and jacuzzi silkie, you are motivating me to finally join the gym here- I've been putting it off since we moved a few months ago. It's not a very glamorous gym but it does have a pool, a steam room and a sauna.

Havoc, I have a friend in Vancouver and your posts always make me think I should arrange to visit as it sounds like such an interesting city. Are the Canada geese somehow involved with the Canada Goose coats? Sorry if that's a silly question!

Bizzey, I hope you toe is feeling better, that sounds painful.

Got the dreaded "winter vomiting bug" email from nursery yesterday. DS hasn't been in since Monday due to his schedule and we decided to keep him off till next Thurs in the vain hope of avoiding a bad dose. We have immunosuppressed family here and both need to work in London next week, so not idea timing! So today I am mostly juggling meetings with chasing DS around. It's really windy and wet here today too and the car is in for it's MOT, so feel a bit stuck for what to do! Think FiL is going to take me and DS for a coffee later, maybe.

Silkiefloof · 07/12/2023 14:56

Hope you can join why with a short notice period though, ours is a month which is great. Sorry its sick bug season, good that they warned you.

Lovely tree Havoc Not long to go.

Hope toe gets better Bizzey DH did similar dropping some chicken stuff on his big toe which went purple. He could still walk on it but was nasty. Think its clearing up now but took a good month or so.

DD had her first Oxford Uni interview yesterday and second one today, that may well be it but sometimes they call some candidates back for a second college and 2 more interviews next week. Its all online at least so no travel though DD would have loved to have gone down there and spent the night. 1 in 3 get an offer of the interviewed ones and you find out on 9 January. We had paella last night as DDs favourite meal.

DH has just gone to work. I am having a cup of tea with a couple of custard cream biscuits and will be off swimming later.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 07/12/2023 20:04

Whyy, I'm sure that's where the name comes from. Nice jackets, but $$$! 😲
Silkie, why so many interviews?

Got some sleep last night and managed to fall back asleep after waking 2nd time which was unusual!!! 😃 Woke up just before 9am, hustled and got dressed etc and managed to get Havoc to school by 9:30. 👍 It was lucky because class was full after that and I think a few might've been turned away. (It's drop-in play school through the school system for up to 4 y/o).

Have got foetal monitoring appt so need to leave for that in a few. ☺️

Tilllly · 07/12/2023 22:24

DH fixed shower, I'm safe again

Tonight I fancied a glass of wine for the first time since chemo started
It tasted rank... 😭

sproutsandparsnips · 07/12/2023 22:32

Ah no Bizzey! Sounds painful. I bashed my toe when we were away in Canada trying to navigate an unfamiliar hotel room in the dark to go to the bathroom without waking the rest of the family. Luckily we were on the train for 2 days so not much walking required!
Silkie well done to DD!
DS played his first football match for school in the 2nd football team he helped campaign for to include more pupils of mixed ability. They lost but had a good game and are keen to continue playing. Their teacher has been very supportive.
DS1 had mock AS levels this week - his first lot. I think they could have gone better but he did do some revision for them and seems to coped ok.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 07/12/2023 23:00

Tilly, well that's just unfair. 😡

Silkiefloof · 07/12/2023 23:11

Havoc The number of interviews depends on subject and some candidates are called in for a second lot of interviews - I think this is because the colleges each admit but some colleges attract better candidates and its to even it out. DD has 2 subjects so 1 interview per subject which has been done, an admissions test done and 2 application forms. So all that maybe left is 2 more online interviews but there may be none. You apply to Oxford or Cambridge (can't do both) earlier than the normal admission round and also in the normal UCAS form its 1 of your 5 choices. https://www.ox.ac.uk/admissions/undergraduate/applying-to-oxford/guide/interviews/interview-timetable2

Sorry things taste wrong on chemo Tilllly I never got that, used to eat ice lollies all chemo and that might have helped as less chemo gets to mouth. No mouth ulcers either and teeth survived well. Plus lots of cola ice lollies.

Thanks Sprouts Glad mocks over.

Just been swimming with DH and to jacuzzi, steam room and sauna then did a bit of tidying of DS room on return.

bizzey · 08/12/2023 00:26

Mumtobabyhavoc · 08/12/2023 00:42

Silkie, I had forgotten the tip about the ice during treatment. Good reminder. 👍
All the interviews must be exhausting and a bit unnerving! Good for your dd to persevere!!! 😃

Sun has set, Christmas lights have gone on (timer), I've got a cup of tea and have eaten a croissant with melted cheese and a croissant with strawberry jam. Amazed to have an appetite and to be able to eat such an amount!

Havoc fell asleep at 3:30pm. 🤦‍♀️

Foetal test went well. 😅

Watching a doc about a 1976 mass kidnapping of children in the States (Chowchilla) that is truly bizarre and chilling.
