So sorry for the delay. I know I promised I'd do another thread after dinner last night.
Then sort of had second thoughts as some posters started commenting on my previous thread that I was enjoying the drama, then tattle started getting involved etc etc.

I have been blocked on social media, as well as family and friends. We've all been turfed out but who cares. I have my lovely shoes back.

Letter was sent signed for today.
Hopefully she receives it tomorrow!

Thanks again for everyone who helped.

A happy ending (and £300 odd short) but that's what I'm aiming to get back now.

@HundredMilesAnHour thank you for this, I've been calling them 'red bottoms' ever since setting my eyes on them. Oops!

A lot of people must've thought I had a very red bottom on my wedding day!

Given "red bottoms" is a very popular colloquialism for this brand of shoe, I think most people would understand perfectly what you're referring to.

MargaritaHargitaysLittleSister · 03/10/2023 09:26

Blatantly commenting to postmark the thread ! Beautiful shoes....I bet you were over the moon when the postman knocked 🤣

Eartoday · 03/10/2023 09:33

I dreamt about this thread last night 😂

ClinkyWotsit · 03/10/2023 09:39

Christ, what’s with all the shoe-troll hunting?? CL make over £50 million a year, that’s a decent amount of authentic, genuine shoes purchased and sitting regally in houses around the UK.

I have a trench coat from a reasonably well known brand and I still have a couple of friends/acquaintances who are convinced it’s fake and do the “as long as you like it, that’s what’s important” DESPITE me working at the company who makes them for 5 years 🙄

Trevorton · 03/10/2023 09:48

So glad you got your shoes back. I have read the entire thread previously and still can't believe how anyone would borrow a pair of shoes like that and think it was ok to sell them. It is unfathomable. However I do have a family member who would do this, their immediate thought is how to get money (for drugs, alcohol) and then bullshit their way out of it later. Sadly for them so many people who have been kind in the past are now NC after many (many) times of being totally shafted.

I am so glad she has been outed. Absolutely disgusting behaviour - but of course I could be projecting as I was recently stung by family member for selling something on they absolutely begged me to buy them for all shorts of reasons. Mainly these reasons were emotional manipulation on why it would make their day to day life better etc etc.. The item was about £1500 which a sibling and I shared the cost of. We will never see a penny of it again and I suspect the money she got for the item was spent on beer, fags, drugs. Nice..

Singlepringle1980 · 03/10/2023 09:57

When did you lend the shoes? Could this be CF trying to sell them before she pawned them? If so it’s helpful evidence for small claims/Police….

Scylax · 03/10/2023 10:11

It took me ages to find this thread, but I am so glad you got your shoes back! They’re beautiful - props to your brother for getting them; I can see why they were perfect for a wedding outfit and no wonder you didn’t want to lose them!

I haven’t read the full thread but I’m sorry you are still getting hassle. Thank you for updating us though, and hopefully you and your friends will be free of CF now, as painful as all this has been.

There's a pair for sale on Vinted with same carpet as the ones in your photo but that was uploaded a year ago.

The seller wants £300.

Embarrassing to be so wrong, eh? Maybe an apology to OP? Or new glasses.

pontipinemum · 03/10/2023 10:31

yay so glad you got them back. No you probably won't see that £300 again but I think it's just one of those things. I have loaned things out to people over the years you were just very badly stung.

If it was me though I would prefer to be out the money not shoes with sentimental value

TheSilentSister · 03/10/2023 10:35

The carpet picture - pmsl. Don't blame you OP.

My DB used to be a fashion photographer and worked with stylists and clothing brands a lot. There are lots of LE bits around, some never really sell so are destined to sample sales, some are just one offs for an event and so on. And there are a few collabs with luxe brands too.

I’m similar to you, I don’t get why people sneer at what they think are fakes! I’ve got a lovely Fallabella fake and a real one, and the fake is just as nice!

AIstolemylunch · 03/10/2023 10:39

Glad you got your shoes back OP, now submit the small claims court form!

REP22 · 03/10/2023 10:42

I am so glad you got your beautiful shoes back. I'm sure the CF will find other people to leech from; they generally do. But I'm sorry for the hurt it must have caused you.

This reminds me a little bit of one of my favourite Sex and the City episodes - "A Woman's Right to Shoes" (Carrie is forced to remove her new silver Manolo's before entering a flat for a party. Another guest steals them and then there's much awkwardness as she tries to get them found or compensated for by the host).

Walk tall in your Laboutin's. The CF had no place taking advantage of your kindness.

Best wishes to you. x

I lolled hard at this photo. Chapeau OP.

HollaHolla · 03/10/2023 10:50

I'm so glad you got your shows back, OP. What a nightmare!
I can't believe the troll hunting you're being subject to. Some people like to find ways to discredit others......
Hope you enjoy the fab sparkly silver shoes - and don't loan them out again!

wineandmaltesershappyme · 03/10/2023 10:51

Oh i LOVE those shows OP, stunning. I'd be wearing them round the house too scared to wear outdoors, they might get wet!
Glad you have them back :-)

AnEverLovelyJewel · 03/10/2023 11:19

This thread has sent me down a rabbit hole of Louboutin stilettos and how anyone ever manages to wear them - the super high vertical ones anyway. People upload YouTube videos of themselves (miraculously) walking in them and not breaking their ankles. Possibly for the gratification of foot fetishists, I don't know, but I am riveted nonetheless. Is it agony? Could you enjoy your wedding day with those on your feet? How does anyone stay upright? They are absolutely beautiful, and I am in awe but I have never experienced such hypothetical pain as looking at that photo and imagining myself trying to take one single step in them.

jollygreenpea · 03/10/2023 11:20

OP i'm loving your photos, great work.

I have to say that I am used to seeing many copies of shoes and to me these don't look real. The join of the heel and the body is far too untidy and the sole doesn't look right either. This is also why I asked earlier if they had been reheeled.

You’re comparing a photo of unworn heels to the OP’s worn ones. The heels look exactly as they would after being worn a few times. The heels on Louboutins don’t last long, especially if they’re worn in the street. Think about the weight pressing down on a tiny bit of heel about the size of your little finger nail - of course they collapse. I have quite a collection of Louboutins from back when I did heels and spent a fortune on specialist reheeling over the years.

I take it you don’t wear stilettos often? It’s the same as walking in any other pair of high heels

I know someone with the opposite situation. She’s got the most fantastic collection of handbags, all fakes but because she’s posh and well off everyone assumes they’re real. They’re very good knock offs and not cheap. I’m sure if you can tell if you look closely but you’d have to know what you were looking at and who on earth is going to ask to examine someone’s bag inside and out?

No never, I live in trainers so obviously I have no clue (or grace or balance!). I did think Louboutins were supposed to be notoriously painful though even by the standards of other high heels.

SheilaFentiman · 03/10/2023 11:48

I love the look of those shoes, could definitely not walk in them though!

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 03/10/2023 12:00

They are very pretty, sparkly shoes! I am in awe of anyone who can walk in heels that high - I couldn't even stand in them (and I'd look like an elephant stood on a sparkly toothpick).
