Anyone else turned off by bald or going bad men?

Upcyclerookie · 23/09/2023 20:53

It just seems so common for men to be bald or going bald, it feels like every other guy is bald.
I know they can't help it but it gives me the ick.
Even if they were to shave their heads, they still look bald.
I have never gone out with a bald guy and I'm in my 40s now. I just really don't find it attractive.
I feel like if I was dating them then I wouldn't want to touch their head.
I like to be able to grab their hair (in the heat of passion for example)!
Been on 2 dates with 2 guys who didn't look like they were going bald on their photos, it's like they must know how to hide it well but it was one of the first things I noticed when I met them. And it was a disappointment, like false advertising almost.
Anyone else feel like this? Just curious to know.

I am no supermodel myself so I'm aware some guys may not find me attractive either.

But yes. Bald is preferable to a toupee 😀

@Puffypuffin , I wasn't suggesting anyone force themselves.

No I know, I said that no one suggested that.

I'm not in a tizzy. I'm an animated speaker/typer. I hate these stupid passive aggressive, suddenly above it all responses you get on MN. Why react to my post in the first place?

You responded to mine. I'm not sure what your problem is to be honest, but there you go.

@Puffypuffin , you implied it.

@nottheopbutmaybe , an XP was away for a few months, and when he returned had obviously been eating a fair few pies while away. He looked repulsive. I didn't say anything.

LittleObe · 24/09/2023 20:01

Imagine a man saying they were turned off by women who didn't still have their teenage width... you sound like a year tbh

LittleObe · 24/09/2023 20:02

Twat* not hear

LittleObe · 24/09/2023 20:03

Also the least likely men to go bald are gingers. Something tells me you wouldn't like them either.

Not at all, I love balding men. As long as they’re not in denial with a variation of a combover

Oblomov23 · 24/09/2023 21:22

I don't get why op has been given such a hard time here. Everyone has different things that they find attractive, different people they find attractive and that's ok.

on mn threads some posters Don't like partners putting on weight, other people aren't bothered. Some men prefer blondes and some women like slim guys. See a thread of all the personalities some women like: Thor, superman, classics. Plus, wierd men that other women can't see the attraction! why is this a problem?

septemberoctobernovember · 24/09/2023 21:27

Bald doesn’t bother me so long as it’s cropped really short and they’re not in denial and having weird haircuts to make it look like they have hair. DP has a full head of hair at 51, but it wouldn’t put me off him if he didn’t, not a bit

JadeVS72 · 24/09/2023 21:39

My type is bald and bearded 😊 maybe if you are OLD you could put something in your profile to hint that you like a full head of hair or bring it up when possible to self-select. Don't want you making my beautiful baldies feel any less than 💔

Fair enough! That's probably different

XenoBitch · 25/09/2023 01:16

I know a chap who is going bald... has the little 'hair island that is breaking away from the mainland' look going on. His hair is dark otherwise, so it really notices. He is early 20s. I guess he has no hope with the ladies then

Personally, I don't care about a guy going bald. Lots do, and can't be helped. Can't say I am a great fan of the wispy long hair look though, when there is a sum total of about 20 hair follicles supporting that look. Just shave it off, and stop being in denial.

You initiated conversation with me... is this some form of elaborate trolling? Hmm

I think you're a bit confused @fruitnutz . You initiated conversation with me when you quoted my post and now you are still trying to engage me almost 24 hours later. Please don't, I won't respond again, I have no interest in some silly game.

minipie · 25/09/2023 22:03

You like what you like, it’s no different from preferring tall men or blue eyed men etc. All of those are perfectly legitimate preferences albeit as pp say they are narrowing down your options a lot.

Just bear in mind that even if you do find a man with a full head of hair and form a LTR… he may be balding within a few years. What will you do then? Kick him to the kerb and start again in your quest?

You quoted me first... And my post was addressed to OP, not general.

Puffypuffin · 24/09/2023 09:39
'Repulsive'? It's fine if you have a personal preference, we all do, but steady on love. 😂

I can just imagine if a man posted on here that he found women with small breasts 'repulsive'.

I ignored the mocking and engaged in good faith. You only responded to me to be passive-aggressive again under the guise of ‘debate’. You accused me of getting a kick out of upsetting others and of trying to dictate what people post.

I'm "engaging" 24 hours later because it's a forum... you post when you're available. And I'm doing it because I'm sick of people like you on here, you're the very person you criticise and make MN shit. Zero self-awareness.

How about you quit assuming intent and if you really don't want discussion don't quote members and "engage", especially with accusatory bs. Too many people on MN think they can be snotty and get in a "tizzy" if someone calls them out on it, then they demand the conversation ends.

Good thing you're not replying.

Notagains · 26/09/2023 09:15

OP this is such a shallow post I can't believe it's true.

A few people are in agreement. Shallow it might be, but it's just a personal preference and I don't doubt that it's true.

x2boys · 26/09/2023 09:54

Its not necessarily an age thing my dh,started going bald when he wss 17 I met him when he was 29 and he just shaved it all.off I had never dated a bald man before him but it is what it is .

IHeartGeneHunt · 26/09/2023 09:54

Oh no I love a bald head on a man! Especially with a big muscley body. Lovely.

That's how male pattern baldness goes ,apparently eventually he will.lose the hair island and just be left with the " horse shoe" according to my bald husband anyway .

underneaththeash · 26/09/2023 10:01

It doesn't bother me at all.

Not keen on beards though and I find tattoos repulsive.

TheFreaksShallInheritTheEarth · 26/09/2023 10:10

A good man's a good man, however follicularly well endowed he may or may not be.

There are so many threads about failing relationships and inadequate partners on MN, but I can see why from this thread if people are more interested in looks over other more important attributes.

LoudAndSqueaky · 26/09/2023 10:10

I don't find bald men that attractive generally but some guys look good bald. I've watched videos of before and after hair transplants and it's amazing how much more better (to me) they look with hair. It takes years and years of some men. I'm not a fan of plastic surgery but you can see why some men do it.
