I have a question that has bothered me all morning. If the earth is a disc then why is it nighttime in Australia right now?

If they're just on a different part of the same disc surely they would see the same sun as I do?

I have found this which appears to be the most popular solution offered by flat earthers but it still makes no sense. It would only work if the earth was a dome, not flat, or else we would all just see a circling ball of light all the time.

NB: I may be procrastinating because I have a lawn to mow and a drain to unblock.

I feel like the ice wall around a disc thing definitely appeared during the time where everyone was watching Game of Thrones. Coincidence? That’s what THEY want you to think. Or something.

So the Earth is flat. Why does it have to be a secret? What difference would it make to any of us the Earth being flat rather than round. Doesn't make sense.

Nah the ice wall thing is a lot older than that, I remember it in 2005 so at least as old as that but I'm sure much older.

Personally I'm more of a fan of the infinite plane theory, that was more fun

My sister used to be a in fringe church group that insisted the fossil record was planted by scientists to discredit god. And when the minister found out I was a scientist he decided to help me see the truth - when he was losing the argument he told me I couldn't understand reality as I was possessed by the devil 👿 😂

The other reason the above is complete bollocks, is that would mean the people at the drug companies who know about this, are happy for their families and friends to die of cancer/suffer with Alzheimers, even though they KNOW there's a cure. I mean, it's ridiculous!!

Every conspiracy theory I've ever come across turns anti-semetic once you dig deep enough. Maybe your average flat earther or 9/11 was an inside job believer or moon landing was faked supporter isn't anti-semetic, but one you go far enough down the rabbit hole you always get to 'the Jews did it'.

What isn't simple, and what I would like a flat earther to explain, is why, if we aren't a globe, is the light distribution so uneven? I mean, what is the point of some of us having more light in certain months, some of us being in darkness while others are in light. When God could have just put us in darkness, and in light at the same time each day. Much simpler.

I know this thread is light hearted, but my mum is exactly like this too. And my god it's changed her as a person. You can't have a conversation with her about anything without it coming back to the government/vaccines/Covid/illness/pharmaceuticals/we've all been conned and don't have our eyes open. She's also saying racist crap too which makes me burn.

The explanation you ask for is that the sun spins around the 2D circle like my son does with peas on his plate. It still has the same effect as a 3D rotation but less messy. Australia isn’t a real country it’s to trick us that the world is 3D and not a pop up book on God’s desk.
