Are any flat earthers here?

I have a question that has bothered me all morning. If the earth is a disc then why is it nighttime in Australia right now?

If they're just on a different part of the same disc surely they would see the same sun as I do?

I have found this which appears to be the most popular solution offered by flat earthers but it still makes no sense. It would only work if the earth was a dome, not flat, or else we would all just see a circling ball of light all the time.

NB: I may be procrastinating because I have a lawn to mow and a drain to unblock.

Equinoxes would be physically impossible over a flat Earth, but that doesn't stop conspiracy theorists from trying to explain them.

Would love to know the reasons behind why they think people are hiding it. Why would there be this big conspiracy for it. What would be the point of that. Imagine the amount of people in the entire world who would have to be in on it.

I do love a conspiracy theory but a flat earth is a step too far...one thing I really want to know is if the earth truly is flat, why are we being lied to? Like, what's in it for "them" to lie to us that the earth is a sphere?

Well, all the pilots are in on it. I've read that whilst trying to decipher how people believe this. Pilots are paid to lie to us and made to swear they will never reveal the truth.

They never said why the pilots would be made to do this.

I think some people feel that they need to challenge received wisdom, even if that wisdom scientifically proven. Look at all the threads on here from people who actually think homeopathy is medicine, or vaccines are more dangerous than illness, or you can flush out your body with water, or loose is the correct way to spell lose.
You can't help some people.

It's aliens what done it.

The Earth was like a beach ball and then one of the aliens took it too far in a game of beach rugby and we deflated, so now we are a disc. They're now playing Solar System Swingball with a lightbulb, and that's how it's night and day.

That’s the bit I never get about it, why? What would it achieve for the whole world to be lied to about this? And how on earth would they keep everyone in on it?

I thought the same about people who thought Covid was a conspiracy, why and how would all the governments of the world agree to it?

With some conspiracies I can kind of see why people think it’s a cover up, but I don’t see what anyone gains from this?

100% this. Way too many people would need to "be in the know" for it to be kept secret. And for what end?

I haven't come across any reasons as to why in my research. I assume it has something to do with Lizard people or the NWO. I imagine fleathers also believe in one/both of those.

They faked the moon landing back in 69 and manufactured all those stupid photos of men in spacesuits & a round earth.

Those “moon rocks” are actually from Mount Vesuvius, dontcha know.

I used to work with a flat earthed. He also didn’t believe in gravity. His reasoning behind a flat earth was ‘it’s a possibility’. That and the amount of weed he smoked.

My SIL used to be a flat earth tin foil hat wearer.
She really did believe you'd fall off earth if you went past the Antarctic and NASA photoshopped their photos.
Took for her to get on an aeroplane to get over it.
