Is this still a tea time favourite or left in the 1970s?

@RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie Mine wouldn't have said no to steak and kidney pie either. But he would have preferred a giant pasty....

@noctiscaelum You could always have a handful of rocket with it.....<helpful emoticon>

Yeah, definitely funny indeed.
I didn't go into details why I despise eggs and chips. That's why I responded with more explanation that i don't always hate having just protein and carbs depend on the menu.

Anyways, what's wrong with someone saying they don't like it, like I said, if you disapprove of someone saying negatives, they should make sure that the thread was only for people with positive comment.

Hoppinggreen · 10/07/2023 20:19

I wouldn’t eat it

Nothing wrong with someone saying they dislike a thing. I violently dislike cheese (though I'm unlikely to be interested in a thread titled "Cheese").

However, when you post something, you do have to expect people will engage primarily with what you actually typed, rather than guess that when you objected to protein and carb with no veg, you weren't actually objecting to protein and carbs with no veg.

I've just had dinner, so definitely not hungry. But now I want egg and chips 😖

I love dipping my chips into a runny egg yolk.

Same

its probably my favourite meal 🤔

JustAnotherRandom · 10/07/2023 20:54

V rarely have it, but it's great. Used to have it every few weeks as a kid and I'm now craving my dad's home made chips!

Crucible · 10/07/2023 21:00

What are the best oven chips? I love egg and chips but it's been ages since I bothered with oven chips - I mean decades. If anyone has a recommendation I'd like to hear it. I usually have it at the pub with gammon.

Tinkerbyebye · 10/07/2023 21:02

Still my fav

I agree, I think I was in a bit of grumpy mood. I was wrong to be saying something rude, when the aim of the thread was clear.
I'm sorry. And I'm sorry, OP.

Fair enough… it all got a bit confusing there Grin I hope you had something you enjoy for your dinner!

The triple cook chips that supermarkets sell in the fridge ready meals section, usually in a foil container with Finest or Extra Special range written on them are good. I've had them from Tesco and Sainsburys and they were the same so any supermarket one will work. Proper chunky, soft in the middle and if you cook them long enough they go nice and crispy.

Crucible · 10/07/2023 22:23

Aww cheers for that @FatAgainItsLettuceTime, I'll look for the posh triple cook ones (I don't have freezer room for massive bags of oven chips so that's a good shout )
