Is this still a tea time favourite or left in the 1970s?

Saturday tea staple when I was growing up 👊
It's a rare treat nowadays

It's one of my favourites when DH is away.

The other one we like in this house is scrambled egg, potato waffles and baked beans. 🤣

After rushing around all day, work, school, after school club. Potato waffles in the toaster, beans in the microwave and scrambled eggs on the hob. Tea done in 6minutes, fruit and yoghurt for dessert then.

We never had egg and chips growing up (we had eggs, and we had chips, just to clarify) but I love a vintage easy tea and may make it for the kids this week.

I've not had this in years!

Really want it now with a slice of buttered white bread 😋

Egg and Chips ♥️

Love it and have it roughly once a fortnight. I have beans or mushrooms and roasted tomatoes with usually as, like a PP, gotta have some veg with dinner.

We had egg, chips and peas for tea this evening and it was so good!

On my meal planner for this week. We have boring old oven chips though. Not as good as when we were kids and they were done in a deep fat fryer

Egg chips and beans is one of my favourite but sadly OH hates all ingredients and I'm too nervy to fry an egg/too much effort for a solo meal so I don't have it anymore - I'm staying at my parents the night before my wedding, so this may be what I request for dinner 😂

Proper comfort food

Don't have it very often but love it when I do...with very good quality tin tomatoes

They do...you dip the chips in the egg 😋

I will day this quickly then run and hide.
I don't like fried eggs...
So If I have egg and chips they are poached.
There is just something about a fried egg that turns my stomach.
Gammon, poached egg, chips and peas, delicious.

Exactly what came to my mind. "chips and frigging egg"

We had it earlier this week - homemade wedges, fried egg, peas, HP sauce. Delicious! The eggs have to be almost cremated though. I don’t do yolk.

Preferably with beans and white plastic bread and a cup of tea. Oh this might have to go on the menu next week.

I think this is one of the greatest divides in this nation of ours.

It would have to omelette and chips. I don't like fried eggs and runny egg yolks make me want to gag. I can't even look at them 🤮

Add a couple of sausages and beans and 😋

I haven't had it in years and years but if I was I would add crispy bacon. 😋. My husband is an egg hating vegetarian so it's not something he would cook. Gosh remember the old school fried chips. Mmm

Never had it in my life

I love egg and chips. It always makes me think of Spike Milligan, for whom egg and chips had nigh on mystical powers to restore the strength and the vigour required for soldiering and Doing Things With Ladies.

I must admit that, like a PP, I prefer a poached egg these days.

I will never have eggs and chips in my life again. The last time I did tragedy struck in my circle ⭕️ with the loss of 4 lives. I feel sadness when I hear of eggs and chips it's strange the things that stick with you about an ordinary day that turned into the worst of my life.
