I loved it.. Saw EJ in 2004 at Ipswich... An unknown James Blunt was the support act and I was bloody furious as the rest of the tour was the Scissor Sisters!!

True story. My parents went to that. I was at home sitting in my back garden and it was before Portman road sorted out the sound proofing and acoustics. The wind was blowing in the right direction and I could hear the every part of the concert from my garden

Even snarky Twitter loved it!😁

Jeez - if he’s won over twitter then he is quite literally God!

JaneJeffer · 25/06/2023 23:14

Naughty people have deleted the set list and replaced it with a Lady Gaga song

Elton really is the last of an era isn’t he? The type of act that granny’s know all the words to, parents know all the words to and even kids know all the words to.

we literally know the lyrics to any song by Elton, queen and the Beatles almost as if it’s in our DNA. I honestly don’t think there will ever be anyone again with that quality back catalogue

I know. I just can't picture Sunday night on the Pyramind stage in 20 years' time......

Hungrycaterpillarsmummy · 25/06/2023 23:15

That was a great set and end to the festival. Fab crowd and Elton was awesome! Really enjoyed it!

ginandbearit · 25/06/2023 23:15

Well that was very moving.. what a way to finish a stunning show.

Appalonia · 25/06/2023 23:16

Watching qotsa now, Elton was great, good for him. I forgot how much I liked qotsa tbh.

Wonderful Elton. Loved it all, just wish he'd sung Skyline Pigeon!

Jellykat · 25/06/2023 23:19

QOTSA bloody smashed it, as i expected.. wait for no one knows Allmyghosts !!

MadCatLady27 · 25/06/2023 22:38

Very clever how he's done this in Dua Lipas absence

He has been doing it without her the whole tour

Mooserp · 25/06/2023 23:20

Thought he'd be rubbish. Wasn't going to watch it.

Watched it all and it was great fun.

Brandon Flowers morphing into Jim Carrey was a bit of a shock. And I would have loved Kiki Dee.

Does anyone else look at those girls sitting on people's shoulders and just want to push them off?

JaneJeffer · 25/06/2023 23:25

I’m guessing the curfew is exact

Yep, the locals start to moan if not!

Justrolledmyeyesoutloud · 25/06/2023 23:26

Anybody else feeling a bit gutted it is all over?!

Probably best not to go to festivals if you like to police behaviour, head may explode haha

Plenty of oldies in the audience tonight (i say that as a 59 year old) Grin

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 25/06/2023 23:27

So good, did he sing Sacrifice? I was waiting for that but otherwise thought the set was amazing.

Was a bit worried about Elton's hip though, he was definitely struggling a bit to walk.

I've really enjoyed all of todays acts.

Yeah and I love the threads on here, some of the best of MN

Yeah loved it. Happy to watch from home with my 56 year old self and a rotor cuff injury knowing I can't wave my arms like that! Felt like Macca in my own royal box

CampervanKween · 25/06/2023 23:29

It's been emotional at times for me. As someone said earlier in the thread, will we ever have the likes of these amazing acts again? Such a vast back catalogue of hits that unites all generations.
