Is there a date for that? Presumably Christmas 2020?

DuncinToffee · 17/06/2023 20:02

Yes, December 2020

14th Dec 2020. They knew they were bending the rules.

tobee · 17/06/2023 20:03

It looks like an absolutely terrible party.

<misses point of footage>

the80sweregreat · 17/06/2023 20:06

None of it surprises me tbh.
I wonder who leaked that ? Allegra ? ..
Those who received fines for having parties or gatherings that Christmas time should receive a refund. It was clearly fine then ( not really , only for them ! )

That was a given.

They weren’t bending the rules, they were smashing them to pieces.

DuncinToffee · 17/06/2023 21:18

David Warburton (Con, Somerton and Frome) is to resign as an MP.

StormShadow · 17/06/2023 21:19

Another byelection loss incoming!

London was in tier 4 wasn’t it because of alpha? That isn’t just bending the rules. It’s taking a fucking sledge hammer to them.

RafaistheKingofClay · 17/06/2023 21:38

See blossomtoes got there first.

Warburton was the one that had his photo taken with a line of coke, wasn’t he. Wasn’t there some sort of sexual harassment too. Think he checked himself into a clinic for mental health issues after it came out.

I think still Tier 2 then, though the party wouldn't have been allowed either way. And they clearly know it.

RafaistheKingofClay · 17/06/2023 22:06

You are right, tier 2. It moved to 3 on the 16th and 4 on the 19th. But yes still no mixing indoors.

jgw1 · 17/06/2023 22:14

I'm looking forward to jannie telling us it wasn't a party because there was no cake, or soggy sandwiches.

I am appalled by that video.

I don't know what I was doing but it was nothing like that. And I didn't go through what so many went through with their loved ones

Blossomtoes · 17/06/2023 22:49

I know what we were doing. We were debating whether we could have our eldest - who lives alone - here for Christmas. What idiots we were.

I don't think you were idiots, and I say that as someone who was also having illegal gatherings at the time. You did what you thought was best and you had every right to expect a government who weren't taking the piss out of you.

Merrymouse · 17/06/2023 23:58

Shaun Bailey has just been made a peer, and one of the people in the video got a CBE.

Appalled yes, surprised, not really.

So were we! And also worried about the fact that, for the first time ever, we wouldn't be seeing my mother at Christmas.

Saucery · 18/06/2023 07:50

From the minute the footage of Allegra Stratton sniggering about work gatherings appeared we all knew they were doing this.

I was limiting contact with people as much as possible, while putting myself in danger daily by working in a school. Fuck them all.

Piggywaspushed · 18/06/2023 07:54

It explains an awful lot their sneering attitudes to any workforces worried about safety and to schools and other workplaces being concerned about masks, doesn't it saucery? I think they just couldn't understand. Interesting that the whistleblower speaks about how 'everyone was ill all the time'. Must have been so toxic. Presumably they all thought they were invincible. Again, this will have impacted upon their empathy. Tossers.

What I said whilst this was going on (partygate)... everyone knew. It came from the top (Johnson). There was a culture of partying.

And now we can officially add Johnson Lies.

Piggywaspushed · 18/06/2023 08:27

The revelations about Patel and him only ever putting masks on when they thought they might be filmed are also interesting - and that they actively instructed other employees not to wear them.
