Taylor Swift tickets help!

My DD (14) is a massive Taylor fan. She is very excited at the thought of her touring UK and is desperate to see her. I've told her it was be very difficult to get tickets and sites will probably crash/sell out in minutes as they did in USA. I'm trying to manage her expectations but DD gets very upset when I say this! We've had a difficult couple of years (divorce and a bereavement) and I really would love to be able to take her. I've signed up to Taylor's websites for notifications, but does anyone have any hints/tips on other ways to help get a ticket.... priority websites etc?! Thanks in advance!

My friends and I (all in our 30s) are desperate to go and I definitely think she's popular enough over here for the demand to be through the roof. Hopefully they have learned from the US fiasco but ticketmaster and the like are known to be shit at the best of times. We have decided to have everyone we know primed to attempt to get tickets when they are released and are basically hoping for the best! One of the group of us can sometimes get hold of hospitality tickets for certain venues so fingers crossed that's a decent back up!

Much like others, we are also prepared to travel abroad for a gig if needed!

ApolloandDaphne · 09/06/2023 06:55

She is massive here. My DDs (who are 25 and 30) are huge fans, as are their friends. They plan to get tickets to see her anywhere in Europe if they can't get UK tickets and plan to spend what they might on a holiday to make it happen. There will be a bloodbath when the tickets are released.

Haha no chance, it will be an absolute blood bath. US fans will fly out to see her. I'll be in LA when she's performing and restricted view tickets are over £4k a pop so US fans who couldn't get tickets will be quids in coming to watch it over here.

I'll be on high alert too to get tickets for the UK tour.

Yup! At a recent show I went to here in the UK an American fan had flown in from the US and done a a ten day tour of Ireland before flying over to Wales to see the concert. And it was STILL cheaper apparently than seeing the band in the US.

@ApolloandDaphne thats a good way to look at it , I know dd would sacrifice next years holiday to go, plus it’s GCSE year for her so as long as it’s after June, I’ll try and make it happen!

may the odds be ever in your favour ..!

She won’t be here until summer next year at the earliest. Doubt we will even get dates before November.

You’ll be fine getting tickets, she’s not as big in the UK as she is in the States. Plus people ALWAYS sell tickets closer to events. There was people on my Facebook practically giving away Harry Styles and Beyoncé tickets close to their gigs recently

I'd argue Taylor Swift is a LOT more popular than Beyonce and even Harry Styles in the UK. Her fans are a bit more zealous at least.

StrawberryFizz27 · 09/06/2023 07:04

You could always try twickets

It makes me a bit 🤔as everyone says how philanthrophic Taylor is but then her concert tickets are so expensive most people can’t possibly afford them , it’s just for the wealthy. Same with all the big stars. I used to see lots of big concerts when I was younger and it was never like this.

I like her music but she is the capitalist queen. She wants to make as much as possible and hold as many 'records' as possible make no mistake.

massistar · 09/06/2023 07:49

DD14 also desperate to go!! She's a huge fan. Luckily I really like her too. There are rumours she will come to Cardiff which would be awesome for us but will travel if need be!

Fizbosshoes · 09/06/2023 07:53

Dd is desperate to go she's been (not entirely successfully) trying to save up in readiness

TheaBrandt · 09/06/2023 07:56

We saw reputation then went to Creams afterwards. Never forget dd2 then about 10 saying solemnly “this is the best night of my life”. It still is years later!

snoozingbaby1476 · 09/06/2023 08:04

Last time if you prepurchased her cd you got early access so keep an eye on that option.

megletthesecond · 09/06/2023 08:09

I agree that Swift tickets are going to be a bloodbath. I know SO many people who are signed up for alerts. I think she'll do Asia over autumn winter then head to Europe next summer.

FWIW I got late Styles tickets in April when they quietly trickled out the restricted view seats. Literally just logged on and bought some. I know we can't see the back of the stage but we'll be there. If Swift does Wembley they may release extra tickets later next year once they have finalised the stage set up. Never give up hope!

MMAMPWGHAP · 09/06/2023 08:18

Btw There are plenty of Harry Styles tickets on Twickets.

HidingInAForest · 09/06/2023 08:23

How much do we think tickets will be?

I have 2 autistic daughters very keen to go. I'd happily go to cardiff/etc if it meant more likely to get tickets. They will be distraught if friends go and they cant as its their main interest at the moment.

As for pp not thinking it will be a blood bath. Ha! It will really be crazy.

lucysmam · 09/06/2023 09:46

My 16yo is also despetate to go...I am saving up & hoping they don't cost the Earth! I may have bought myself a sparkly shift dress already, for the princely sum of £1 on Vinted! Dd is watching Tik-toks & wants to bejewel a costume, whether we get tickets or not 💎**

We bought the cd last year so hoping there are the alerts that were promised.

JustLurkingAway · 09/06/2023 09:50

It will 100% be a bloodbath, even if she does multiple nights at Wembley etc

practicepracticepractice · 09/06/2023 09:53

We were meant to see Taylor Swift as part of the BST events at Hyde Park in 2020.
Those were £70 per ticket for standard entry.

Elton at BST in 2022 was £80
Blackpink at BST this year is £90

My DD did this which was hilarious as she has nothing to play it on!

lavagal · 09/06/2023 09:56

Honestly iv been watching a lot of her eras tour videos on tik toc - honestly I'm converted into a fan! She's bloody amazing! Have u seen all the people OUTSIDE the concerts having their own tail gate in the car park! There are approx 20,000 there every night without tickets - surely this tour is breaking so many records for attendance

DD5 isn't bothered about music as yet - I'd love to go though

bibbityboppityboo · 09/06/2023 10:02

@ApolloandDaphne

I did the same - bought the CD in hopes of presale access and don't own a CD player 😂 it'll be my trophy if i manage to get tickets!

Be registered and have accounts on all of the major ticket sites, payment details already in. Load the webpage on as many devices as possible - know what seats / venue / dates you want before trying to buy. Just try to be as quick as possible! As PP said hospitality tickets can be sometimes a smoother purchase just because of the price point.

It will be a total rush for tickets, she's hugely popular over here with a huge age range!

Polkadotties · 09/06/2023 10:07

Concerts don’t need to be at the o2 for them to go on sale with o2 priority. I got Beyoncé tickets at Tottenham through o2.
She won’t be over here until next summer.

Tickets4teen · 09/06/2023 10:44

This thread is giving me hope and dread at the same time!! She is absolutely massive over here, people that aren't really into her don't know how big she is and aren't aware of her fan base!! Would happily travel to Europe and combine with a weekend away, and depending on price, hospitality could be an option (would be DD birthday and Christmas present for the next years 😂). Will get all family members and as many friends as possible poised in front of lap tops on ticket release day!!

This is so interesting. At her last tour she was quite unpopular in the media and the events agency I worked for at the time got lots of free tickets from her PR firm. We had about 150 tickets just given to us to help them fill Wembley. Really good seats too. We gave some to DDs primary school for a raffle and I took DD myself. There was tons of empty seats. I'm not a massive fan of hers but I must say it was a great show.

Early access to presale tickets has already been and gone. It was last winter.

You could also sign up to this for free, so wouldn't surprised me if absolutely loads of people have pre sale tickets which renders them pretty useless!
