Just seen on Instagram that PS is stepping down with immediate effect from This morning!
I mean, I'm not that bothered but there's been lots of speculation recently re his brother's conviction and the rumoured spat with Holly but I thought it would probably all blow over.
I'm sure he's got a bob or two is loaded but I'm still a bit surprised if I'm honest.

I suspect it's more to do with skeletons in his own cupboard than his brother.

This. He's always seemed so selfish to me and I hate the way he has blocked other women progressing in TV unless they bow down to him

SmashingOwl · 20/05/2023 16:38

@TeaParty4Me exactly. People leave out that crucial thing.

And I'm no fan of him. I think it's right he should go and he's clearly disliked in the industry

But he didn't hide his brothers abuse of a child - although it's absolutely disgusting that his brother was doing this - PS said clearly he was told the boy was 16

TidyDancer · 20/05/2023 16:39

I think when the super injunction expires and the full story about his grooming comes out then it will become untenable for Holly to stay as well. She will obviously have known. I would be shocked if This Morning itself survives that story coming to light. It'll be like when the news of the world imploded and we ended up with 'the sun on Sunday' instead. We'll probably have a hybrid of loose women and good morning Britain to bridge the gap.

DisforDarkChocolate · 20/05/2023 16:42

I think he knew about his brother but socialised with Holly's children when his brother was there.

He's not nice and never has been.

marshmallowmatcha · 20/05/2023 16:43

Is there even a super injunction? I mean everyone seems to know about it!

PlacidPenelope · 20/05/2023 16:44

The tide turned on him, and long overdue in my opinion, I reckon an awful lot is going to come out about him now that he has lost his untouchable status.

We Buy Any Car dropped him quick after queuegate but I wonder if that was the only reason they dropped him.

Blort · 20/05/2023 16:45

Verbena17 · 20/05/2023 15:51

Yep - hasn’t he been paying something like £30k a month to keep it hushed up?

Bloody hell that would keep me quiet!

Wellthatwasodd · 20/05/2023 16:46

Freefall212 · 20/05/2023 16:33

Finally. between his own skeletons and his brother - he was toast.

I think Holly knew about his dalliances with very young male employees / apprentices and she should get the boot too. It isn't just the age gap but also taking advantage of the power one holds with regard to making or breaking a career. And on top of that hitting on anyone in the workplace is a risk

What about everyone else at ITV! Not just Holly. She should probably go, but there are way more enablers than Holly. I mean I knew about MM, I’m sure everyone at ITV knew. It’s another JS situation.

truthhurts23 · 20/05/2023 16:49

didn't know about his brother, seems like it runs in the family then ..
wouldn't be surprised if him and his brother had an "interesting" childhood
a lot of famous celebs end up being weirdos

Tryingtokeepgoing · 20/05/2023 16:58

TheBucketWoman · 20/05/2023 16:19

It’s not the first time he’s done a runner on This Morning. Hopefully it’s his last!

this deserves more recognition 😂

StraightOuttaContext · 20/05/2023 17:05

@PuppyMonkey 🤣

AnnWithoutAnnie · 20/05/2023 17:08

StaunchMomma · 20/05/2023 16:14

When you stand up in court and admit that your brother told you what he was doing to a child and you didn't report it, you are culpable.

He can't outrun that.

@StaunchMomma

i don't follow it all, but I thought the young adult was 16 & consented. Have I misread it?

viques · 20/05/2023 17:09

PuppyMonkey · 20/05/2023 15:42

I just wanted to come on the thread and post that I’ve never heard of him and I don’t watch the show and I haven’t got a telly and I live in the Victorian times, which is much better and more educational than 2023.

Just watch out for those damn diseases that are likely to carry you off, tb, scarlet fever, typhoid, typhus, cholera, measles, smallpox, polio and the rest……. Plus any nasty infections that your body can’t repel. And I would avoid surgery and childbirth too.

Nosejobent · 20/05/2023 17:15

LunaNorth · 20/05/2023 16:19

What the fuck went wrong in the Schofield household when Phillip and his nonce of a brother were growing up?

Two creeps in one family. Their mother must be beside herself.

I was thinking the same thing!!!!

WowIlikereallyhateyou · 20/05/2023 17:15

What a shame! All we need now is for Holly to go.

Over40Overdating · 20/05/2023 17:15

Holly had no problem with Pip’s behaviour when it was all in secret. His injunction is the tip of the bad behaviour iceberg he’s built over many years and his reckoning has been a long time coming. MM was treated horribly but he’s not alone.

The situation with his brother has caused this very public split because the nature of the crime. That PS did nothing to stop his brother should shame him til the end of his days.

AnnWithoutAnnie · 20/05/2023 17:15

TeaParty4Me · 20/05/2023 16:34

That makes more sense.

Hiding /withholding information about child abuse is a crime and there’s no way he’d be allowed to continue working on TM if he had done so.

How is it child abuse if the person is 16??

Eurodiva · 20/05/2023 17:20

Wellthatwasodd · 20/05/2023 16:46

Who is MM ?

Jarstastic · 20/05/2023 17:22

AnnWithoutAnnie · 20/05/2023 17:15

How is it child abuse if the person is 16??

Although the age of consent is 16, the law now says vulnerable under 18. Social services would have to be informed.

TomatoSandwiches · 20/05/2023 17:26

@TidyDancer I think you are spot on, fingers crossed 🤞

rainbowstardrops · 20/05/2023 17:27

@Eurodiva MM are the initials of the young runner that PS is/was connected to a while back.

Hollys response was as if he was a distant colleague not a best friend. Obviously some issues there.

Lemonybubbles · 20/05/2023 17:30

Allhailkingcharlie · 20/05/2023 15:14

Just seen too! Problem was it's common knowledge that he told his brother to never do it again rather than reporting. You can't come back from that!

This isn’t the issue…

rainbowstardrops · 20/05/2023 17:31

At the beginning of each show they have guests on to speak about the headline news items. I didn't see it myself but apparently when PS and HW were on the front pages last week, they completely ignored that!
I wonder how HW and her co-presenter will navigate that next week? 😳

LaffTaff · 20/05/2023 17:33

Good, he's a smug twonk.
I'm reading about ITV being desperate to keep 'popular' Holly Willoughby 🙄 Popular with whom? I personally can't stand her - the faux girl next door persona gives me the absolute ick. She's a self obsessed mook; a female schofield. Lorraine Kelly out on her arse too please, she's another venomous old bint.
