Just seen on Instagram that PS is stepping down with immediate effect from This morning!
I mean, I'm not that bothered but there's been lots of speculation recently re his brother's conviction and the rumoured spat with Holly but I thought it would probably all blow over.
I'm sure he's got a bob or two is loaded but I'm still a bit surprised if I'm honest.

God, I hope so. Can't stand her ridiculous high pitched squealing, hope they're both gone from Dancing on ice too.

Was just watching a video on twitter of Kim Woodburn slagging them off. Saying she was banned from dancing on ice.

stayflufft · 20/05/2023 15:56

Good.

Allthegoodnamesarechosen · 20/05/2023 15:56

I hope Waitrose remove him from their wine promotions as well. Yuck.

letthemalldoone · 20/05/2023 15:58

HW should be gone too. Silly, simpering and two-faced.

tara66 · 20/05/2023 15:59

Unfortunately as he has been in the public eye such a long time with ''wonderful guy'' image he will now always be associated with his brother - not what the TV channel are looking for as it affects advertising revenue when people tune out.

Sorry -wrong thread!

Housewife2010 · 20/05/2023 16:02

It's a shame that Vernon in on radio 2 now. He was great on This Morning and loved Gary Davies when he hosted Ken Bruce's old slot.

Porkandbeans1 · 20/05/2023 16:06

Good. I wonder what will come to light now. It's shocking he held on for so long after the photos emerged of the young guy he had groomed.

Dreamprincess · 20/05/2023 16:08

I am always suspicious of "entertainers" who are determined to hold on to their positions, come hell or high water. As with others, there have been rumours circulating for ages regarding Scholfield: he obviously does not need the money, so why do people such as him continue to cling to their jobs until they are, in all but name, sacked? I know the answer and hopefully someone with some basic decency will start to vett performers with more integrity.

Arrogance?

YoucancallmeKAREN · 20/05/2023 16:10

He should have been sacked.

GuitarRookie · 20/05/2023 16:11

@YoucancallmeKAREN sounds like he effectively was.

Hmmph · 20/05/2023 16:12

I really don't understand the point of the superinjunction (if there was one) everything is common knowledge and it gets lifted after a few years. He's no better off than he would have been if it had come out then.

Also, I hope there's no "we didn't know.." handwringing - everyone knows. For instance, I've been reading about things he's done on MN for years (definitely since Feb 2020).

Quirrelsotherface · 20/05/2023 16:13

I suspect it's more to do with skeletons in his own cupboard than his brother

Agree 100% and I have zero respect for Holly Willoughby for sticking by him for so long. They are both way past their sell date

CherryCokeFanatic · 20/05/2023 15:32

Hopefully Holly next. She is awful.

I like her.

StaunchMomma · 20/05/2023 16:14

When you stand up in court and admit that your brother told you what he was doing to a child and you didn't report it, you are culpable.

He can't outrun that.

Incredible how they have made Phillip Schofield, his appaling behaviour (not reporting sexual abuse of a minor) and ITV management collusion ALL about the woman Holly. (I have no skin in the game by the way - I have never watched the show).

We live in a terrible time for women - we really do.

I think it was inevitable. I expect his spent this week agreeing terms with his lawyers.

As I read on tattle about PS everyone should be kind to him... he came out to his wife yes it took him 30 years and he kept his wife and kids in the dark all that time but he finally came out so is a brave hero, well that's the line PS and Hw were spinning! My friend was interviewed by PS on TM several years ago and said he was horrible off camera and all of her childhood memories of him in the broom cupboard were shot to bits. He likes young men / teenage men by all accounts.

sparklefresh · 20/05/2023 16:17

Bye then, Phil. Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

PS The Smolletts of Montecito 😂
