Just seen on Instagram that PS is stepping down with immediate effect from This morning!
I mean, I'm not that bothered but there's been lots of speculation recently re his brother's conviction and the rumoured spat with Holly but I thought it would probably all blow over.
I'm sure he's got a bob or two is loaded but I'm still a bit surprised if I'm honest.

Thanks, i had wondered if anything had been stated. I just feel so yuck about the "unwise but not illegal", to me it's like "I waited till he was legal" as opposed to someone he only met at 18ish. Grim.

According to PS in the interview it started a few months after the runner started working at ITV so he would have been 20. That is the only specifics we have heard and it is from PS - although given the legal issues of lying at this point, I would think he needs to be fairly careful what he says that is untrue.

TheTERFnextDoor · 02/06/2023 18:31

I'm disappointed in Alison. Sad

LaffTaff · 02/06/2023 18:33

I only saw a short clip of his interview on the tea time news.
In the clip he said he followed upwards of 11,000 people on twitter, so his following of MM on twitter (when MM was just 15) was utterly insignificant, just one of 11,000 random follows (indeed it was so insignificant that he then described, in detail, the exact circumstances of how he'd came to be following him).

Wheredowegonobodyknows · 02/06/2023 18:35

@TheTERFnextDoor What did Alison do? Haven’t had chance to catch up on it all
today

Not sure why? Ever heard of 'love the sinner but hate the sin'?

At least she didn't kick him to the kerb the way Holly has!

Surely they're just reading a script they're told to say? I don't see them letting the presenters loose to say whatever they fancy, particularly at the moment!

BonesBrennanz · 02/06/2023 19:19

Alison welled up though, showing emotion where most of us are rolling our eyes.

She is in a very different situation given she personally knows many of those involved, and she is in a stressful situation of her every word and action being under scrutiny by the public, and she is probably in some pressure from ITV having been put as the temporary face of the program to deal with this issue (maybe as a trial). Emotion is a normal response in her situation.

She probably doesn't get emotional when she reads something online about random people on TV that she doesn't know,

Astridscat · 02/06/2023 19:56

I heard the ‘young man’ was going to spill the beans and that’s why PS told the story first.

PenelopeTitsDrop3121 · 02/06/2023 20:09

Alison is 2 faced. Some celebrity, can't remember who, posted about the toxic workplace at TM,and she liked the post :/

MeinKraft · 02/06/2023 13:10

The schofield interviewer has really pissed me off the more I hear about it. He's presented himself like a domestic abuser the morning after an attack; 'this is so hard on me, I didn't even do anything wrong, it wasn't illegal, it was barely even a thing, I might kill myself if you don't shut up about it.' Gaslighting the viewer with his words and his appearance. Comments sections are full of daft people saying 'whatever happened to #bekind' well whatever happened to #metoo

Couldn't agree more. Absolutely sickening.

Radyward · 02/06/2023 20:37

@meinkraft

Totally agree - PS has just scraped the barrell with that victimhood- woe is me interview -i am disgusted.and to totally blackmail the public to shut up and to use Caroline Flacks name.he is abhorrent

Twonewcats · 02/06/2023 22:54

Caroline Flack's mum has spoken to the BBC to say that ITV have learned nothing since C died

LizzieSiddal · 02/06/2023 23:40

I don’t quite understand what Caroline’s mum is meaning? Is she worried about Philip or the young man?

Aquarius1234 · 02/06/2023 23:40

I just watched all the BBC interview. I don't believe quite a bit of what he said.
Deffo fishy.

Aquarius1234 · 02/06/2023 23:42

Oh and it was a slightly silly question to ask If he had had previous gay flings / relationships in the past.
100% he has. But said he's not talking about that.

LizzieSiddal · 02/06/2023 23:46

I heard a R5 phone in this morning about the interview. A policewoman phoned in, said she worked in child protection and was “concerned” about what PS had said in his interview as he was saying many of the things which would make officers look into interactions PS had had with the teenager.

LizzieSiddal · 02/06/2023 23:48

Agree. He doesn’t want to let on as he’s using the excuse for the “fling”, as being he was all over the place and was very confused about his sexuality.

Bluebells1970 · 03/06/2023 09:47

Has anyone read the story about Hugo Speer online (Full Monty) - he was let go from the TV production by Disney after a young female runner reported him being naked in his trailer. It was dealt with immediately, he was later sacked and it then came out that another young female member of staff had walked by his trailer and he was naked with the door open and reported it ... his story is the headline on the DM today. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-12154367/Hugo-Speer-reveals-ordeal-sacked-Monty.html Seems like Disney were very "on this", unlike ITV and Schofield. He really was treated like Royalty by them and I hope that they are made to answer these questions.

Both I should think.

I think she means both of them. I honestly think the press coverage and faux media outrage has reached a disproportionate level to the actual 'offence' PS committed. The head of ITV being made to appear in front of MPs to explain herself? Why?! Who the hell are MPs to take the moral high ground? Honestly, what more does the media want from PS now he's already lost everything? Jail time? Him killing himself? The former isn't going to happen unless a criminal complaint is made, which seems highly unlikely. Or if some other boy comes forward to say he was groomed too. But as for the latter, clearly the media is determined to PS pay and I find the relentless of it very disturbing now. I'm in no way condoning his actions and I feel SO sorry for his wife, but I do think if this continues it could end tragically.

I did the article and felt a bit conflicted as to whether he'd been hard done by. Foolish yes, but seems like the outcome had been decided before the investigation. Either way, he was sacked for an incident which was in a different league to Phil's.

Some of the facts here aren't open to debate - he had a sexual relationship, the lad in question was 'troubled', including about his own sexuality, and PS was messaging him on social media before he was 18. Other teenagers have claimed the same.

Whether you think it's consensual or grooming, I'd be livid if a 50 something man was texting my teenagers, irrespective of them being male or female. Then it's becomes sexual. Add in the fact he's famous and can chuck lots of money to hush things up and #bekind is NOT a valid defence.

I'd be spitting feathers and demanding heads roll at ITV if I was the runner's parents.

There are many many celebrities who engage online (or their PR companies) do with teens. Teens are often key users of social media and social media engagement is a bit part of fan bases. Musicians, athletes, actors / actresses - many of them message with their fans, including their young fans.

Even as people get older (Taylor Swift, Harry Styles etc) they often have new younger fan bases that still want contact with them. So the age gap grows. Even many older musicians have a young fan base as new generations discover their music.

Also when celebs are associated with foundations / non profits, they often visit and then keep in touch with children and youth they met on those visits (in hospitals, schools, community centers, theatres) etc. And will try and give them opportunities as they get older.

Unless MM speaks out, I am not going to speculate or create fiction about his life. There are enough ethical issues with what happened based on what PS has said with him as an adult that can be discussed without needing to try and speak for MM about his life as a child / minor.

Aquarius1234 · 03/06/2023 13:28

PS was asked how many times he had sexual relations with MM, he said 4 or 5, then when asked again said maybe 6 lol
Also he kept referring to him as a mate. Bit strange I thought.

Aquarius1234 · 03/06/2023 13:32

Oh and he said the rumour had just got too big on why he stepped down I'm guessing.
Reason he came out in 2020 was he lost too much weight and wasn't sleeping.
Again not believing it when he denies it had anthing to do with the Sun newspaper etc
