Just seen on Instagram that PS is stepping down with immediate effect from This morning!
I mean, I'm not that bothered but there's been lots of speculation recently re his brother's conviction and the rumoured spat with Holly but I thought it would probably all blow over.
I'm sure he's got a bob or two is loaded but I'm still a bit surprised if I'm honest.

Another rumour I’ve heard is nick grim shore but not sure how true that is lol

dayswithaY · 28/05/2023 13:21

Nick Grimshaw would not be interested in Philip if that’s the rumour. Have you seen his partner?

Nofixedabodewell · 28/05/2023 13:35

Newnamenewname109870 · 28/05/2023 13:01

That’s so so weird! What was it in reference to?

Reminds me of Jimmy Saville saying something very similar.

No it’s him with younger guys, particularly Harry styles

Rowthe · 28/05/2023 14:07

Does anybody know for sure that he what his brother was up to? I have no idea who my single brother is having sex with.
if he DIDN’T know, then he’s been sacked for having an affair with a consenting adult? Would he have been sacked if the consenting adult had been female? I doubt it.
but I do accept that I’m not aware of all the facts, not a fan, it just seems odd.
two consenting adults had sex, so he was married, he wouldn’t be sacked for an affair. Just not clear what the sackable offence was here.

Philips meets boy, gives him a job at ITV and is his personal assistant on all programmes, ITV spend fortunes on taxis ferrying the man between Philip's flat and the ITV studios, Philip then expects something in return. When relationship ends the man is moved to another role.

Countless men in high powered positions are losing their jobs for much less.

What do you think MeToo was about?

Lemieux3 · 28/05/2023 14:37

Yes, I can imagine it was like Michael Jackson - tired of one boy and moved on to the next without a single thought for the fact that these are people.

In that Neverland documentary what stuck with me the most was Wade Robson's mother saying how he'd sit, deeply unhappy for hours by the phone waiting for MJ to call him.

This alone makes me wonder how executives could not know something was going on. It is not normal for an 18 year old to be getting drivers to a work colleague's flat on a regular basis. Particularly a runner who wouldn't qualify for a limo service otherwise.

Wellthatwasodd · 28/05/2023 15:29

SinnerBoy · 27/05/2023 22:35

All these colleagues of Schofield - Eamonn Holmes, Holly Willoughby, Wooten etc, who knew all along - why didn't they act years ago?

Probably got NDAs in their contracts.

whynotwhatknot · 28/05/2023 15:35

wooten didnt have to praise him for coming out though did he

Not just Wootton. Rylan, Eamonn, Ruth, all saying admiring things about him. They must have known about the rumours that he only came out because of rumours of younger men. Their sympathy and support made it seem like they believed him and disbelieved the rumours. They provided cover for him.

ArcaneWireless · 28/05/2023 16:55

Their mouths moved.

Their faces and body language looked like something entirely different to me. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Nofixedabodewell · 28/05/2023 17:00

I honestly don’t get why there was such an almighty fuss about him coming out as gay. Honestly, why was it necessary?

watcherintherye · 28/05/2023 17:05

Sorry, but the op made me laugh!

No? Grin

PlacidPenelope · 28/05/2023 17:33

To deflect any criticism of him and his behaviour on the grounds of homophobia.

Freefall212 · 28/05/2023 17:36

Aquarius1234 · 28/05/2023 15:41

Wow that's so weird.

It wasn't weird. Philip had also hired him as his PA (personal assistant). He wasn't being taken back and forth in his role of runner but his role of PA.

It did come about very oddly but it was a necessity because after years of rumours and speculation, MM had made a public declaration of his love for Philip at the awards ceremony in front of his friends / others who heard. The relationship had soured and MM was clearly hurting and wanting Philip back (first serious relationship heartbreak can be awful). Philip then kind of had to say something as now it had been heard in public and he had kicked MM out of the awards. MM then approached Holly to explain and try to get to Philip through her. The whole awards fiasco and public scene had to be explained somehow.

Maybe cos he gave the impression of being straight and married to a woman with two kids.
I assume they had them naturally.
Also my thought was why now and not 10 years previously.

Aquarius1234 · 28/05/2023 18:56

I can't believe he was stupid enough to get involved with someone so young like teacher student. Stuff like that never stays secret for long.

It was a smokescreen for his shadier behaviour.

JenniferBooth · 28/05/2023 19:03

I bet the gay community arent very happy about what hes done either.

Twinks with older men is extremely common in the gay community. Slightly less PC than a couple decades ago but older gay men being attracted to young gay men is absolutely not going to raise many eyebrows
