Just seen on Instagram that PS is stepping down with immediate effect from This morning!
I mean, I'm not that bothered but there's been lots of speculation recently re his brother's conviction and the rumoured spat with Holly but I thought it would probably all blow over.
I'm sure he's got a bob or two is loaded but I'm still a bit surprised if I'm honest.

Of course 16yos can consent. People might not like it or think it's right, but a 16yo can sleep with a person of any age.

Lemieux3 · 27/05/2023 03:28

The evidence suggests that the relationship may have started when MM was only 15.

Hellenabe · 27/05/2023 03:46

I've never quite believed the John Leslie thing. I know a few people who met him and said he was definitely a charming, ladies man type. I can imagine there was a time women threw themselves at him. No allegation ever stuck but his career sank. With PS, the fact that the boy was so young just creeps me out.

kettlebellchips · 27/05/2023 05:01

Crikey, didn’t know the runner was that young. I assumed a man in his 20s. Creepy, but not that bad

Who knows what Ulrika Johnsson might or might not do. He's been accused 4 times that's true.

  1. Matthew Wright - he withdrew the claim and apologised
  1. Charged. New evidence emerged to exonerate him.
  1. Investigated. Dropped by police as no evidence
  1. Charged. Court case. Found not guilty on all counts.

Do you not think that if all this was true, at least something would be proved? And even if all of it is true, you have no evidence to say it is.

I could make an allegation that Lemieux3 has been seen going through people's handbags at work when people are in meetings. I bet you someone thinks they had money stolen. It must be that thief Lemieux.

This is a staggeringly naive post.

Just no grasp of the reality of the legal process whatsoever.

10/10 for the most ridiculous straw man argument ever. 🤣

WildFlowerBees · 27/05/2023 09:04

It's time for ITV to reshuffle, remove the chief Exec and her staff and get rid of This Morning. What purpose does it serve anyway, are there really people who enjoy watching it or is it just background noise.

Nofixedabodewell · 27/05/2023 09:08

I do find it very odd that both PS and his brother seem to have a taste for underage boys. Something very odd about it.

IdisagreeMrHochhauser · 27/05/2023 10:00

The allegation that's been circulating on social media is that PS became aware of the boy aged 10 or 12 and took an interest in his career. Started following him on social media when he was still under 16 and then got him a job on This Morning. Even if the relationship started after he turned 16 which is perfectly legal, questions are being asked about it. Stories of much older men who show interest in girls - children - and then wait for her to turn 16 to make it sexual, usually spark outrage on Mumsnet.

I have no evidence of whether any of this is true. Just it's what is being alleged.

I can't be the only one to be amazed by ITV's statement that their management knew nothing about this until the other day.

It's been public knowledge for a few years now!

I think this is about the definition of “to know”. You only know something has happened if you saw it. Hearing a rumour is not the same as knowing.

Exactly.

Although I do think people just like to take rumours as fact (in general) sometimes

I watched Ruth and Eamonn that day.

They had the same face on them as I do when I am told to do something because it is in my job description when I know fine it is not.

look at what Eamon Holmes has posted on twitter above the video of him hugging Schofield. Says he was lied to.

Said the same thing to DH this morning. How often are two siblings both paedophiles? Ok so PS may not be a paedo but close enough, pretty sure the runner was a teen when their affair began and Schofield was in his 50s. I’m in my 30s and lecture 18 year olds, they are NOT attractive to me. It’s just weird.

ArcaneWireless · 27/05/2023 11:52

hellohelloqwe

I reckon Eamonn’s story will be out there soon enough. Just waiting for the absolute stampede of folk disassociating themselves so that they don’t go for Ruth.

And no matter how many pink love hearts and mealie mouthed goodbye statements folk put out or however many impromptu fortnights off some might get, some folk will never disassociate away enough from their honk of gushy shite.

ShyMaryEllen · 27/05/2023 12:10

I don't understand this. Do you mean Eamonn's version of the PS events, or is there a separate scandal about Eamonn himself? And who is going to go for Ruth?

ArcaneWireless · 27/05/2023 12:54

About the lies he says they were told.

And Ruth still works for ITV.

If Eamonn starts singing like a lintie, there may be some who could make it unpleasant for Ruth. I don’t know of course. I don’t work in television.

But in my personal experience, if you accuse management of wrong doings, they will circle their wagons and do their best to discredit you to protect themselves.

HadleyVaughn · 27/05/2023 12:57

I never really paid much thought to either Phillip Schofield or Holly Willougby before but I now have a wholly negative view of Holly Willoughby and I think if she had any decency she would resign from This Morning.

Watching that video of her "supporting" Phillip as he came out as gay which has been repeated everywhere makes me feel sick. Given all of this (about the runner, his age and so on) was everywhere - even I knew about it - there is no way that she didn't know and it just means her whole persona is just layer upon layer of hypocriscy wrapped up in a bleached blonde simper.

My opinion now is that she's obviously ruthlessly ambitious and seriously finanicially avaracious (cf her 'lifestyle' brand) and she will dig her claws in tight to stay.

But she has zero credibility and can't really be this nice person she pretends to be.

I read something the other day written by someone who worked in TV that said in their experience, the nicer, smilier and wholesome people appeared who worked on television (ie. those like daytime TV presenters where the persona is important) was in direct inverse proportion to how horrible they were in real life. IN other words the more sunny they appeared, the more evil they were.

ArcaneWireless · 27/05/2023 12:57

And also discredit those associated with you.

Jimmy Savile's brother was also a wrong 'un:

I think there's some kind of weird genetic element and/or mucky dark stuff going on either between them or other family members. Egotistical too.

GreyFer · 27/05/2023 14:16

@derxa . Hilarious. Wish I’d seen it at the time!

GreyFer · 27/05/2023 14:18

The brilliant Barry Humohries. May her rest in peace.

GreyFer · 27/05/2023 14:18

Humphries. He.

Haywirecity · 27/05/2023 14:37

I live Barry Himphries. But Alison Hammond is so fake. In the middle of screaming with laughter she stops and address BH in a normal voice. If you're genuinely laughing, you just can't do that.

HadleyVaughn · 27/05/2023 14:41

I wouldn't have thought it was that uncommon to be honest because abuse begets abuse doesn't it. The abused become the abuser because they grew up with it and get conditioned.

If you have someone who has contact with a family (whether within the family or external like a friend or teacher or scout/club leader) who is abusing one boy, it's not that much of a stretch to think they have access and opportunity to the other.

Not commenting on this situation but in general to say that I woundn't think it's that far fetched to say that it does happen that siblings are both abused by the same person and go on themselves to both be abusers.

Repeat general comment and NOT directed at this specific situation or these people.
