I'm so desperate.

I need a mattress that's not going to dip fuck you Simba after a few months.

Even better if you're able to post a link to the mattress you still love.

My poor back 😭

I don't have a link but in general I find you get what you pay for with mattresses and it's worth investing if you can. Go for a high number of pocket springs from a reputable shop like John Lewis. Also rotate every three months and flip every six.

Hi I’ve had the silent night Geltex mattress for 9 years and it is still like the day I bought it
I got it from next and cost £750 at the time it’s the medium/firm
well worth the money

Poppybetty · 16/05/2023 15:21

I've got a Silentnight 1200 Eco Comfort double mattress. It's incredibly comfortable medium firm. Absolutely no dip. I bought it after a friend recommended it.

I started with this in mind. But John Lewis have mattresses starting from £790-£15,000

How long have you had it for?

We've always bought John Lewis, current one is 11 years old & still going strong

Gymnopedie · 16/05/2023 15:30

Ours is a Sealy - the upmarket brand from Silentnight. The first one lasted 11 years, the current one is on five and still perfect. Sadly they no longer do the one we've now had twice, but they are a very good make.

Poppybetty · 16/05/2023 15:32

Almost a year. The kids have the same type and they are v happy too.

DianasTeacup · 16/05/2023 15:40

Ikea, had it 10 years or so with an ikea memory foam mattress topper. Still good. They have a good guarantee (at least 10 yrs I think) and if it does dip will be replaced... we bought one of their cheaper foam ones originally which dipped quite quickly and they honoured the guarantee and we got sprung instead with the topper.

Twoshoesnewshoes · 16/05/2023 15:42

13 years and no dipping here!
its Jonelle, I think from John Lewis?

Twoshoesnewshoes · 16/05/2023 15:44

Found the label

Ours is John Ryan by design. My side is firm and dhs is medium. We've got a super king zip and link. The whole bed including 2 mattresses, divan bed frame, drawers, headboard etc cost £1500, and when we had an issue with the company who put the bed together they sent out another headboard (they'd put the headboard on the wrong side and it meant the long drawer couldn't open when opened against our bed side tables and the little drawers didn't make sense!

They ask a lot of questions about body weight and sleeping position because it makes a difference on the type of bed,

It's 3 years old now and it's still perfect

Badbudgeter · 16/05/2023 15:49

Soak and sleep mattresses are really good especially if you can find a decent discount code.

Gorlad · 16/05/2023 15:58

We had a JL mattresses that dipped horribly and it wasn't cheap. We've gone for a Hypnos this time and so far so good after a year.

Milger · 16/05/2023 16:00

Watching with interest, Emma and Eve can fuck right off.

BaronessEllarawrosaurus · 16/05/2023 16:03

Ikea pocket sprung, I've had it 3 years another family member has had the same one for 5 years both are still as good as the day we got them.

Wenfy · 16/05/2023 16:04

I bought the firmest spring form mattress it’s possible to buy. 10 years later it’s still as hard as rock

Sorry to jump on someone else’s thread - which name? I’m looking at ikea mattresses at the moment.
