I'm so desperate.

I need a mattress that's not going to dip fuck you Simba after a few months.

Even better if you're able to post a link to the mattress you still love.

My poor back 😭

I don't know the make and am currently comfy lying in it but will check in morning.

For years I would constantly go through beds like no one's business, they would all break, mattress become uncomfortable.

Ten years ago I bought a bed and mattress which cost me £6000 - £4000 for mattress and £2000 for bed. Best money ever spent. So comfy still, so solid. I love my bed.

Had my latex mattress from latex sense for 8 yrs. Still exactly the same as when I got it despite going for the softest they had. Has a 15yr full replacement guarantee and trial period as well.

I've never had a mattress last me more than two years as I spend a lot of time in/on it due to chronic illness so I'm well impressed!

I've had my spring mattress (filled with wool) since 2017, and it hasn't changed at all. It cost £1,200 (super king size).

They don't have my IKEA mattress anymore but DS 17yo has had the firm VESTMARKA for several months with no dipping, it's £159.

We have a Hypnos mattress (the ones premier inn use) it's firm yet comfy. We've had it 7 years and as good as when we bought it

Vispring here and it must be close to 25 years old now. I have no intention of replacing it any time soon, it is still super comfy and no dips. I don't buy into the myth that a mattress should be replaced every 8 years or whatever random number has been dreamed up by the industry!
It weighs a ton so has only been turned or flipped occasionally. It was expensive at the time, I think we paid around £900 in the sale.

We bought a John Lewis bed and mattress when we got married 35 years ago .. we shared it for ten years and then it became our 'spare bed' when we got a super king size bed .. now we prefer to sleep separately so DH uses it Blush but it is incredibly comfortable still. We threw out the first super king bed and mattress we bought but replaced it with a very expensive model from an independent shop about 23 years ago and I sleep in it very comfortably still ... no dipping (haven't turned it for ages ... such an effort but this thread has reminded me I should).

My Simba mattress felt like I was sleeping constantly in a hole - imagine face down in a hammock! The godawful thing was full of dents and dips after only a few weeks. Returned under their 200 night guarantee. Went to Bensons for Beds and bought an iGel 3000i advance mattress instead. More expensive, but they have some great offers on them all the time. They use full size individual pocketed springs to offer support, with a 5cm layer of gel on top for comfort. Having a serious back condition I can confirm the iGel has sorted out my back pain. I also suffer with fibromyalgia and the gel top has completely eased any sore spots or joint pains I used to get in the night. The gel also acts as a cooling agent in the summer, whilst being toasty warm in the winter. As we spend 1/3rd of our lives asleep I would recommend you spend as much as budget allows to get a decent bed, and go to a proper bed shop like Bensons where you can try out various mattresses and use their new-fangled “smart sleep” machine to help you work out where your pressure points are, in order to find the correct level of firmness for your sleeping style and body shape. Can’t recommend Bensons for beds enough and glad to see the back of Simba!!

Button and sprung. It wasn’t cheap, about £3500 for super king size 10+ years ago. Its got lots of springs, and cotton and wool inner. It’s moved countries, been folded in half to squeeze in London size lifts, and currently has three of us sleeping on as Ds refuses own bed.

Ikea. Had the last one for eight years. Only got rid of it because we were moving house & bought a bigger bed. New one is also Ikea.

Zingy123 · 30/05/2023 07:11

We've had Silentnight for years and they always dipped. We've had our Hypnos one 4 years so far and it's been so comfortable.

Summerswimmer767 · 30/07/2023 13:21

What did you end up buying @ADHDDDDDDDBOOM ? We’ve had two ikea ones and had to return the first and now I can’t sleep on the second one after 3mths as it’s too sinkiee in the night killing my bank. We had previously had an ikea one for 6yrs no problem but now they are too soft.
