By choice!

Kids are grown so I don't have to cook for them.

Husband and I have different work schedules so don't always eat together.

This week, I've had crusty bread with cheese and salad, and extra salad, for lunch every day and I going to have it for tea tonight too!

It's just bliss to be able to fancy something simple and have it.

What would you have every day if you could?

Easy. Pizza. I could eat that every day forever and never get bored.

FrenchandSaunders · 21/04/2023 17:36

Curry

Yum. I think I'm doing the deconstructed version!

This can be a sign of neuro divergence

Jacket potato with cheese butter and tuna mayo.

Mcdonalds.

Tuna pasta.

Crispy duck and pancakes

Ds15yo has been away on a school trip for a week. I made a lasagne on Monday that DH and I each ate for dinner three days in a row. It was absolutely brilliant not to have to think about food in that time. And tasty too. It improved with age!

Can it? In what way?

Pizza

Tacos

Kfc

McDonald's

Ramen noodles

Bbq

Quite a lot of things

GoodChat · 21/04/2023 17:46

A ploughman's salad. So much variety it feels like 3 different meals.

Needmorelego · 21/04/2023 17:46

@Hotvimto3 or it could be a sign that someone finds cooking an absolute bore and just takes the easiest route (me.... I do that).

LadyGardenersQuestionTime · 21/04/2023 17:50

A big vat of something veggie/with some lentils/curryish; with microwave rice or a frozen naan bread that’s been cooked in the toaster.

I make a big vat of veggie soup and have that for lunch every day till it’s gone. Sometimes I mix the leftovers of the soup and the curry together for a change.

(Absolutely not neurodivergent, just very bored with meal planning and cooking).

DS would have Pizza, but he is autistic.

Snoopystick · 21/04/2023 17:50

Ooh that sounds lovely. DH is making a ramen tonight - trying to chase away my cold with ginger and chillis, but definitely would not have that every day. I think I could eat chicken fajitas every day with all the add ons.

MrMarkham · 21/04/2023 17:52

I've had a wrap with chicken, salad and mayo for every night this week so far, cottage pie today for a change! Can't be bothered cooking for myself and the kids eat too early for me so I don't tend to have the same as them every night.

Odile13 · 21/04/2023 17:53

Greek salad with lots of feta. Bread on the side. I could have that for lunch everyday I think.

Sensory, stimming and executive planning issues. When you "fancy" something, it's basically your brain craving a taste/texture experience and you repeat it to get the same level of dopamine. I'm ND and crusty bread and salad is one of my favourite low-effort comfort meals when I don't have to cook for the whole family. I don't think I could eat the same thing for lunch and dinner for an entire week though. My limit is eating the same thing for dinner 4 days in a row and something different for lunch 4 days in a row.

Highworth · 21/04/2023 17:56

I’d be happy with toast and jam if it was just me.

SquashPenguin · 21/04/2023 17:56

Halloumi. Every day for the rest of my life.

Xrays · 21/04/2023 17:58

I get like this. I do have autism though and I find comfort in repetition 😊

Currently I have porridge every single day for breakfast and a whole meal cheese roll and tomato soup for lunch. Dinner is different but lunch and breakfast always the same. And I love it!

Bovrilla · 21/04/2023 17:59

It's not really the same think but I love crusty bread, butter, cheese and all manner of characterise meat and salads/olives etc.

Also yes, a ploughman's

slamfightbrightlight · 21/04/2023 17:59

Crumpets. Mountains of butter and cream cheese.

SoCunningYouCanStickATailOnItAndCallItAFox · 21/04/2023 18:02

Home made soup, probably leek and potato by preference.

Jacket spuds, just butter or maybe cheese.

Never bored of those.

I'm veggie, otherwise this is right up my street!

Delicious.

I've got olives, seeds and Parmesan in my side salad. Double cheese-tastic!

Baxter’s cream of tom soup. Virtually every day for lunch.

Reminds me of feeling safe and loved as a child. Only started this when we we went into lockdown.

glittereyelash · 21/04/2023 18:07

A meat and cheese board I just love them. Also love beans on toast with a fried egg.
