Threads you always click on even though you have no skin in the game

And let me start by apologising for using such a wanky phrase but it does work well for this particular thread ;)

For me, it's dog threads. I don't have a dog, no real strong feelings on them and definitely no plans to get one, but I find the threads fascinating (and lets face it there are a lot of them at the moment).

Other ones are inheritance ones - I'm not in line for any inheritance and not even sure what probate is but love these threads.

Anyone else do this for threads that have no real relevance to them?

Parking sorry but I love them - how people feel so entitled is beyond me

Tentoseveninthemorning · 21/04/2023 13:34

Agreed, they're good too.

Baby names - love the weird and wonderful names that come up!

YouveGotToGrooveIt · 21/04/2023 13:36

School ones.

e.g. the school has confiscated my child's chocolate bar

I have zero experience of schools except having gone to one 30+ years ago. I still tend to click on the threads, though.

CoolCalmCollected · 21/04/2023 13:37

The whole of Style & Beauty but especially the "what are you wearing today" ones. I love seeing the outfits.

Crikeyalmightey · 21/04/2023 13:38

MIL's being unreasonable. Lucky to have a lovely one myself.
Also the CF threads are very entertaining.

CornedBeef451 · 21/04/2023 13:39

Anything in Style and Beauty.

I will be no help to anyone at all, nor will I take any advice but I still like to read them.

Plus there is always a slim chance of another Suzie Quattros fat nan type comment!

Aylestone · 21/04/2023 13:39

People on here like to pretend this is a site that people go on for advice and support, but the majority of people not writing threads are purely here for the entertainment. Any thread with ‘social services’ in the title will be clicked on by most people imo (including myself). Also affair threads where the partner hasn’t been confronted yet, cf threads (especially wedding ones), step family aggro or (usually a fathers) refusal to return a child after contact. It sounds horrible to admit it, but anything dramatic gets my interest, even though I’ve gone through nothing similar myself.

Tentoseveninthemorning · 21/04/2023 13:51

I have had some good advice on here but definitely also here for some of these too. I used to quite like looking at the Royal Family ones but that got waaaay too much and hid that one.

@Aylestone

I've had a few threads recently where people have had a go at me for posting for 'entertainment' like that was a terrible crime

I'm like, duh! Isn't that the whole point?!

I've noticed a fair amount people questioning why others are posting

It's like asking why people watch TV or read a magazine

AndyandTeddyarewavinggoodbye · 21/04/2023 14:09

Weddings and hen do ones.

Long time married, didn't have a hen do, only know one person who might realistically get married in the near future and pretty confident that I am not going to make an appearance in future DILs threads!

PrincessHoneysuckle · 21/04/2023 14:14

Hen party.
Surrogacy debates.
Baby names.

Tentoseveninthemorning · 21/04/2023 14:15

I also like the signs people are rich ones. Beige cashmere jumpers and muddy wellies are a dead give away apparently.

crazeecatlady · 21/04/2023 14:17

I lurk for entertainment and genuine enlightment. If I pose a question it's because I really am interested in what others think. I am not being goady (as I was accused of recently)

Kittykatchunjy · 21/04/2023 14:17

Baby names, god knows why , my babies are long grown up!

Two are unlikely to be worn by the same person, discreetly wealthy bods will prob have old clothes and muddy wellies, new rich will be your cashmere and clean wellies

FeebasAquarium · 21/04/2023 14:21

Anything really am entirely taken in by a good title.

MIL ones when mine has passed away, CF in law ones when dp is an only child, baby name ones when I don’t want any more, litter tray and dog ones when I’ve no pets.
Also looking at the style royal family ones when I’m fairly indifferent to the royals or fashion. I just like the jewels and clothes (or not; erdam is not a fav). Oh and parking ones when I don’t drive 😂

FranKatzenjammer · 21/04/2023 14:29

I am quite fascinated by school admissions despite being childfree myself.

TheaBrandt · 21/04/2023 14:30

Baby names. I have teens so baby names are of no relevance to me whatsoever but can’t resist putting in my two penny worth!

OrlandointheWilderness · 21/04/2023 14:33

Am I pregnant threads with pictures. Never want to be pregnant again but I find them compelling!

This is what drives me mad about people reporting troll posts and getting them deleted. They’re writing complete bollocks, we know it’s complete bollocks, but we’re all having a good time following and posting on it. I’m sick of the sight of ‘we’ve taken this thread down as it’s a troll’. WE KNOW!! But it’s FUNNY!!! 😂😂

Any good CF thread, the more unbelievable the better!

BridieConvert · 21/04/2023 14:39

Baby names, step-parenting, MIL dramas

I love them all!

Scalottia · 21/04/2023 14:40

Oh and Royal Family threads. They are nuts! I have 0 interest in the RF!
