And let me start by apologising for using such a wanky phrase but it does work well for this particular thread ;)

For me, it's dog threads. I don't have a dog, no real strong feelings on them and definitely no plans to get one, but I find the threads fascinating (and lets face it there are a lot of them at the moment).

Other ones are inheritance ones - I'm not in line for any inheritance and not even sure what probate is but love these threads.

Anyone else do this for threads that have no real relevance to them?

Baby names. I haven't had a baby to name for 16 years!

Branchbranchbranch · 21/04/2023 14:51

MIL threads. Mine died not long after I met her (meeting me had nothing to do with it!!). I always wonder what type of relationship we would have had

Samcro · 21/04/2023 14:52

paying for seats on a plane/or not, I have not flown for 40 years but find them fascinating.

Tentoseveninthemorning · 21/04/2023 14:52

I had to hide the RF ones. I used to quite like reading about tiaras and things but it moved on from that. I remember there was a whole thread, in fact many, many of them, about why MM was everywhere and wouldn't go away and then there was another massive thread about where MM was and why she was hiding (i'm paraphrasing but something along those lines.

The "can you see a line" ones.

I have no children and no interest in having any but I bloody love looking at the tests to see if I can see a line 😂

Botw1 · 21/04/2023 14:53

@Aylestone

Exactly!

Although tbf a lot on mumsnet seem to think a troll is anyone who thinks differently to them

Parking sorry but I love them - how people feel so entitled is beyond me

Parking....but only when there is a promise of a drawing in the title.

TheaBrandt · 21/04/2023 15:01

I am fascinated in a car crash way in those who doff their caps to the royal family and think they are great and solemnly updat people on their doings so yes those threads too. I don’t know anyone that batty in real life!

Botw1 · 21/04/2023 15:02

Anything on parenting babies and young kids

I have neither

YouAteTheSteak · 21/04/2023 15:08

OrlandointheWilderness · 21/04/2023 14:33

Am I pregnant threads with pictures. Never want to be pregnant again but I find them compelling!

Me too! If it says 'line eyes' in the title, I'm in!

And if they're waiting to find out, I watch the thread for updates.

Mine are all grown up and no desire for any more so no idea why I'm so interested.

JorisBonson · 21/04/2023 15:09

Line eyes threads! I have chosen not to have children but I like seeing the happy little lines.

Megapint · 21/04/2023 15:11

What's acceptable to feed your kids threads/ inappropriate food given by family members. I was pretty skint when my kids were young & I think we had less sophisticated food tastes generally. Mine mostly grew up on processed stuff. Fish fingers & chips, waffles & beans etc The only thing cooked from scratch was a roast on a Sunday and stew from the leftovers on a Monday. . Lots of treats from grandparents. I'm fascinated by what kids eat these days, What's seen as good/bad.

Marmighty · 21/04/2023 15:13

Ha, came on to say the dog threads too OP. I don't have a dog nor do I want one but I now know loads about dog training from mumsnet and have managed to surprise DH and friends with my dog-related knowledge and opinions

uncomfortablydumb53 · 21/04/2023 15:15

Baby names even though my DS's are all in their 20's!

Wisterical · 21/04/2023 15:20

Inheritance threads. No one ever has, or ever will, leave me anything and the only time I feel good about this is when I read about the pain and drama inheritance can cause.

Tentoseveninthemorning · 21/04/2023 15:24

@Wisterical also love them. Some of the amounts on there are unreal and yet seemingly not in the view of the person getting it.

Is this dress suitable for a wedding? I've not been to a wedding in 30 years, not likely to go to one any time soon but love seeing what people say and also how they work hard to find a suitable one for the op if that one is no good.

CruCru · 21/04/2023 15:26

Weirdly, I love threads where an OP’s daughter has extremely long hair which is somehow causing a problem. A load of people will come on to suggest a lot of complicated hairstyles - anyone who suggests that it would be reasonable to take a girl with ankle length hair for a haircut is a horrid beast.

user1471554720 · 21/04/2023 15:37

Friend threads, even though I am a total introvert and can count my friends on one hand. SAHM v WOHM even though I always worked fulltime and am considering part time at 50.

Style threads even though I am casual and comfortable.

Tentoseveninthemorning · 21/04/2023 15:42

Oh and yes to the wedding outfits. I'm always amazed by what people are offended by sartorially.

OP posts:
Scalottia · 21/04/2023 16:36

Oh shit how could I forget - food threads, especially the competitive undereating ones! Like the ones that go 'this is what I eat in a day, is it too much' etc. Or 'is this enough food for my toddler?...

MissLucyLiu · 21/04/2023 16:41

the cheating ones !

Leafsontheline · 21/04/2023 16:44

The long running education threads. I am amazed how much information people give about their children on those,I can so easily identify lots of the kids on there.
I would never give any info about them , just amazed how much info people are willing to divulge.

LeefPeeper · 21/04/2023 16:58

Parking and neighbour issues are my favourites
