And let me start by apologising for using such a wanky phrase but it does work well for this particular thread ;)

For me, it's dog threads. I don't have a dog, no real strong feelings on them and definitely no plans to get one, but I find the threads fascinating (and lets face it there are a lot of them at the moment).

Other ones are inheritance ones - I'm not in line for any inheritance and not even sure what probate is but love these threads.

Anyone else do this for threads that have no real relevance to them?

Pregnancy test ones! Even though I've had a year of miscarriages and not currently TTC (so you'd think I wouldn't want to see them!) I still love gauging if it's a line, how far along they are and when they eventually get that positive!

I quite like line-gauging too. I've never been pregnant and the last time I did a pregnancy test was about 25 years ago, very much hoping not for a line. Honed my line skills during Covid testing, though.

I’ve just remembered my other fave… the Christmas threads. I came barely be arsed to stick up a bit of tinsel and it’s just me and the kids but I love hearing about what people do and buy at Christmas.

YY to the selective education threads.I live hundreds of miles from London, in an area with no selective schools, and don't have anything like the budget for private education. And yet I get really invested, and find myself desperately hoping that HeyDuggieFan86's kid will get to the top of the waiting list for Tiffin.

Oh yes, always got fingers x'd - especially for the poor tinies waiting to hear if they got a 4+ place (!) at Westminster Under School.

I know much more about public schools than I ever needed to. For example Winchester is in a bit of a muddle at the moment.

And SPGS - someone posts about that school who has worked out all sorts of crazy stats.

Also follow the Oxbridge threads especial on offer day. The joy of the posters whose DCs get an offer set against the disappointment of those who didn't. Up to that point they've all been buddies but at a stroke there are the haves and the have nots and I think it takes a lot of generosity and self control on those threads to keep posting nicely. I always feel sorry for the DCs who were rejected after all that work and hoping.

I was not aware of those.

I was talking to a fellow friend and mumsnetter (IRL) and she reminded me about all the ones during Covid where people were going insane about their neighbours leaving the house more than once a day and buying ‘non essentials’ such as Kit Kats and wine 🙈

She loved those.

MIL threads, even though I haven't had one for years.
Parking and Unreasonable Neighbours - I currently have no issue with either. Diagrams are a bonus
CF threads
At Christmas, the ones asking how to deal with parents/in-laws buying too many presents
I like reading stuff on the Relationships board, even though I've been married more than 30 years
Right Move threads, to have a nose at some of the crazy properties out there

I secretly love the "hubby went to the pub today and hasn't come home yet" threads. I know it's wrong but it's my guilty pleasure on a Sunday morning 😔

Oh I love these too! I always shamelessly place mark because I'm so nosy and want to find out what happens...even though we all know they've got pissed and fell asleep on a mates sofa 🤣
