What's the most stuck up place you've been to?

Having just recently seen a video of a young man doing a video of Farnham on TikTok saying it's Tory and stuck up etc.

I was wondering if you've come across any town that has had stuck up people and what was your thoughts on such a place?

Well this thread is an eye opener for me. Only thing I can say is that if I visit France I make sure they know I am Australian, not British, because they are really nice to Australians and quite a significant number don’t seem to like British people. What did you do to them?

I'm British and live in France.
Never had a problem, the French are lovely to us.
Our notaire actually told us that they like the British and they're polite to Germans.

Yes to be fair, the Germans invaded France 3 times in 70 years, so any irritation with British arrogance and separatism pales beside that.

Virginia Water, only drove though it mind
My poor beat up Focus with duct tape holding the wing mirror on was bullied and laughed at by all the Audis, Mercs and Teslas.

Frome and the surrounding villages e.g. Nunney, Beckington and Mells.

I’ve been on countless holidays to France . Never once had anyone be rude. They are delightful. Far nicer than we are.

TheaBrandt · 16/04/2023 20:08

They are bloody not! We had a picnic in Vourvray with a baby and a horrible battleaxe lady came and shouted at us!

TheaBrandt · 16/04/2023 20:10

The Germans are nicer yes but not the French

SweetSakura · 16/04/2023 20:18

I've met lots of lovely french people (although it may help that I can speak French tolerably well) and some rude french people too. But I could say the same about England. It's a bit much to judge a country from a single encounter (or even a series of encounters tbh)

TheaBrandt · 16/04/2023 22:24

Well yes obviously! I was being tongue in cheek …

Richmond Borough. Snooty and unfriendly with a superior air. In reality they are the most boring, dull, conformist, corporate drones in the country

Poss the Paris Ritz. Called by to see about dinner there but I was 'in jeans'. this was at the front door. 'NON' Bet if I was Elton John you'd have let me thro if I was in my Speedos. Anyway, around the corner to the Crillon (so posh it turned Madonna away - she was too famous). A waiter came to me, showed us the menu and took our booking. Job done. lovely room and dinner.

TheaBrandt · 17/04/2023 11:45

To be fair the Ritz London doesn’t allow jeans either. By going to the Ritz you are buying into that
