@Mumtobabyhavoc it was so nice to eat something we hadn't cooked! It was raining and everything was damp (we were camping) so it was the best food ever in the universe!

Yes, I know what that is like! Woke up to a downpour on 4th/last day of Chilcoot before heading for train. We feasted at the end, too. No one spoke for about a half hour except to say, "This is so good." Or, "Pass me the (whatever food)" from the cooler we had waiting for us. 😋

Formentera - yep. Just after they'd built the first roundabout there, conveniently overlooked by an ice cream parlour for optimal viewing of the ensuing chaos - locals going round in random directions, French tourists giving way to the right, British ones to the left (and occasionally exiting on the wrong side of the road).

How about Thingvellir, Iceland? Or Kaunaoa Bay, Hawaï? Or even Antalya, Turkey.

I've been to Vanuatu and the Pantanal. This thread is reminding me that some of my old jobs were a lot more interesting and varied (at least in travel terms!) than my current job.

Dead envious of Nepal, it's definitely on my bucket list.

@Mumtobabyhavoc it was summer. I'm not insane. However, I have been in Winterpeg, Manisnowba in winter. Do not recommend. I thought my face was going to freeze off.

I really enjoyed winter visits up north, though and have been in -20 with wind chill -40, at the coldest, but you don't do much outdoors for lo g when it's that cold.

Has anyone been to Twatt, in the Shetlands? Or the one in the Orkneys?

Ooh, Kisangani and Bujumbura here too. There was a little drive by a while ago, to the effect that we are all falling over ourselves to boast about the remote and exotic places we have been to. So, I’ll add Cassidy’s, a pub in Carran on the edge of the Burren in Clare. Home to relatives on my mother’s side. But a quick google shows me a now rather fancy pub cashing in on the ‘wild Atlantic way’, so maybe not.
