Have you been to a place no one else has been to?

I'll start. The idea is you name the place and a fellow MNer has to say if they've been there. However, you don't have to wait until you've been somewhere to post. Post your places and you'll meet the MNers who've been there. You can post 1-3 places (random numbers).

@Anonymouslyposting scenery along the Karakoram Highway is amazing, beautiful desert landscape in Turpan, Kashgar was fascinating but a lot of the older buildings were being demolished. It felt less safe than other areas in China with more passport checks and all the key positions eg police, airport personnel are taken by Han Chinese. As a foreigner the police want to know where you are going and where you are staying, although passports are required for all hotel stays in China control here was much tighter.

I'll be interested to know if anyone's been there, just that back here In the UK I met someone from there who was astonished anyone had ever heard of it or been there.

I have! We stayed there after our flight, then caught the train into the city the next day.
Hotel staff were lovely and taught us how to use the waffle iron on the breakfast buffet - our DC were experts by the end of the holiday!

Bloody hell some of you are well travelled! Some really unusual places on this list. Well done!

From the list so far, I've been to:
Rathlin Island, Quebec City, Mogan, Cairns, Port Douglas, Cape Tribulation, Mt St Helens, Oregon coast, Las Vegas, Grand Canyon, LA/Hollywood/Burbank, Maui, Miami, Chicago, Montana, Idaho, Blair Atholl and Capri. I'm going to La Gomera in July and my DM has been to Mississauga!

I haven't been anywhere particularly remote, but I'll go for:
Persepolis, Brazil
Ponce, Puerto Rico
Corpus Christi, Texas

I think on MN, you've probably got more chance of winning this thread if you said you'd been to Benidorm, Scunthorpe and Pontins Prestatyn.

Great idea for a thread though OP.

Stayed in a farmhouse B&B there back in the 1990s. Farmer forgot we were staying and back his tractor into my car in the morning 😂

Have driven thru since, about 10 years ago.

Anyone driven the Oregon coast? Or been to Mt St Helen's? I did WA state down to Salem Oregon. Beautiful scenic coast!

I loved that coast route, great scenery and when we were there (2011 I think) not too busy..... Off to look for my photos and trip diary now

I've not rtft but I'm mid long journey, scrolling with my breakfast, and I know I'll never catch up so:

Pangkor Laut while the resort was half built and we were the only guests (I was a cute 7yo and all the waiters waited our table each night and made a fuss of me)

Ocean Park in Hong Kong - hands down the best fairground park type thing imo (possibly through eyes of nostalgia) and now replaced by the egregious Disneyland. Boo.

I've been to quite a few of the Aus / NZ places mentioned, but they've already been "claimed" by others.

I'm trying a few more as my first three have all been visited:

Zabljak, Montenegro (I went when it was still Yugoslavia)
Abisko, Sweden
Providenciales, Turks & Caicos.

We do a course walk every year with a big name rider - have been with William Fox Pitt, Lucinda Green, Mary King, and loads more. To gain entry to the stables though you have to be either a rider, groom, owner or a VIP guest. I was a guest of the Duke. 😁 Got access all areas, is very unusual to be permitted such a privilege. How did you get in?
