Inspired by another thread where the MNer was struggling to get a house for £1.5 m I was wondering what's available near to you with that price tag.

Here's one local to us.

@ChickenMacaroni

Here is a lot to like in that house (apart from the beams in the kitchen!). Most of it looks nice and light.

This is in my parents village, just love the OTT decor!!

A very ordinary but mega extended house situated at the end of a very suburban street.

Small but cute coach house, used to belong to Lily Langtry.

I love this one.

Nothing for the max budget...but this is cheaper.

There's a zip line from one side of the lake to the other! Lol

I am actually not looking to 'fantasy buy' a big house. My Godson lives in a new build. Very nice but not if you rely on public transport like I do!

Of course if I didn't stubbornly insist on staying in London, that 'fantasy' amount would go a very long way indeed. Some people just can't help themselves, can they>????

Yep here too. I keep looking at big places with an acre in the middle of nowhere. But they aren't london and that's where all my friends are.

Boo.

This one is within 10miles is offers over £1.5m. Beautiful old house and gardens but the interior decor looks stuck in the 90's!

This one is offers over £1.3m and just a few miles away. Very unimpressive for the money especially houses so close and little land.

This is my house (in my dreams) I have mentally moved in and only need about another £800 000 before I buy it. I'm sure I'll win the lottery next week.
Seriously though, this has just been reduced from £1.5m and is in a decent area, about 5 miles from my (real) house.
I love it...

@onelostsoulswimminginafishbowl what amazing views!

rbe78 · 31/03/2023 17:18

It's hard to find properties that cost as much as £1.5M near me, rather than costing less!

But I did find one property that expensive, and it is pretty good. Though ten reception rooms is probably about seven too many- think of the hoovering!

This one in the lovely village. Personally, I think it's horrible, despite underfloor heating it just looks cold. It doesn't look like they've finished building it though I know they have.

It's in a lovely village, which I know quite well; we used to come down here from London for their Blues Festival, but I think that no longer happens. However, the village is still lovely, and we live quite near so can pop into our fave pub for some really good nosh if we feel like it, stroll round and enjoy it. At one point there was a bye-law which said they could only sell to locals but I think in this case it doesn't apply.

This is the one I want! I want to live in a city as I miss London desperately, but dh hates cities though he says Exeter's OK. The house itself is much more my kind of thing and I LOVE the stairs!
