I gave the guinea pig a bath today. He wasn’t very impressed.

A suitably dull statement. Well done! ☺️

MissConductUS · 27/06/2023 16:49

Welcome, @ChazsBrilliantAttitude, and thanks for sharing your suitably dull pet care news. I have two cats who I think would be very interested in a guinea pig, but I'm not sure it would work out well for the guinea pig.

It's raining here, so I may just do a short walk at lunch time. I'd like to check on the duck and duckling again.

Mum we will be in Vancouver for a few days - we fly in to there and will embark to Alaska from the port!
Silkie glad you got the PIP sorted!
Hilda what an exciting visitor!
Welcome Chazsbrilliantattitude.

Silkierabbit · 27/06/2023 22:22

Food sounds lovely Havoc

Just been swimming, sauna and steam room. Changed duvet cover to one with birds on. DD is doing a bat tour on the river for work tonight and back shortly.

Floof is very trilly. He was on DSs bed whilst we were out. He also trills back when I trill at him. I can speak Maine Coon.

Female decorator came and will quote for outside house painting and repairing windowsills. DH liked her but said she was older than he expected. I am sure it will cause much fascination in the village female painters and decorators when they come end of September ish.

Just having a tea. 2 meetings tomorrow, urgh. Then 2 more on Thursday. Hopefully meeting free on Friday.

Vancouver and Alaska sounds very exciting Sprouts Is that a cruise?

mathanxiety · 28/06/2023 03:32

We're experiencing smoke filled air here and will be under an air quality watch until tomorrow night. It was very hazy, and the air smelled of woodsmoke. I thought I was imagining things, but everyone else smelled it too.

Silkierabbit · 28/06/2023 03:58

Hope air quality improves Math

Not getting much sleep here. DD arrived in late after taking a bat tour boat trip and was giggling, eating and chatting to 1.20am and is getting up at 6am to go to Oxford Uni for day tomorrow, thankfully friends Dad taking here. Floof then decided to be very trilly as he was excited people were awake late and they could be excellent playmates.

We have DSs Pip award until 2027 and dd was calculating the whole amount.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 28/06/2023 04:02

Silkie, glad you had your swim!
Math, are you in NC? Is the Canadian wildfire smoke the source? It's horrific.

Made a basic risotto for dinner (salted water instead of broth). Added a good bit of butter, a touch of cream and a good grating of pecorino. Roasted veg and tomato salad with left-over chicken. One chook goes a long way here! We don't eat a lot per serve. Chockie bickie for dessert (MCVitie's Digestive). 😛
Havoc picked up s toy duck and said, Duck.
Much better than Buck Buck which is toddler speak for bad words mummy may or may not say....😲

MissConductUS · 28/06/2023 14:18

Silkie, people from Maine have a rather distinctive accent. It traces back to the early French settlers I believe. Well done for mastering Maine Coon.

Math, I heard on the news that the Canadian wildfire smoke was back for you. It hasn't returned for us, but it may just be a matter of time until the wind shifts.

havoc, your meal sounds lovely. You do have to be careful about what words you use around toddlers.

DH gave me a lovely card for our anniversary and this beautiful basket of impatiens. There are lots of unopened buds so it should keep flowering all summer. The rest of the deck garden is doing pretty well. We've had a lot of rain this week, so the lawn should start perking up soon.

Thanks MissC I seem to be talented at speaking cat, both Silkiecat and Floof will talk with me in cat sounds and both look at DH like are you OK when he tries.

Happy anniversary MissC glad you got a nice present.

Hope you are feeling OK Havoc

Had the 2 meetings and brought forward 1 of 2 from tomorrow, may as well get them out the way. First one a home visit they are 30 mins late but just stay 5 mins so fine and DS let's them see him. Though I so wanted to be asleep instead as DD was chatting to me to 1.20am then Floof was hyper then DD left for Oxford Uni at 6.30am, getting ready from 6am which always requires loud music. Second meeting was a new extra person, argh, well meaning but suggested why don't you change teams and why don't you send DS on breaks for you away. Both of those are the last thing we want. So I brought 3rd meeting forward and they've agreed to close and come out of meetings, yay. The current people are really nice but pointless.

So just 1 meeting tomorrow with cahms. I told DS about pip that he will now get around £100 a week to 2027 from the government. Its £129. He's the most sensible person ever with money so will just save any of it we don't need.

Cheezecake · 28/06/2023 15:46

I was up to the early hours reading a gruesome Swedish murder book. As a result, I have decided I definitely like it. I have The Iliad with me if I wamt to read something'lighter'.

MissConductUS · 28/06/2023 16:38

Welcome, @Cheezecake, and thanks for sharing your literary consumption news. Did you read the murder novel in Swedish or English? I love a murder mystery, but I get most of mine on true crime podcasts these days.

Welcome Cheeze

Well done on the PIP payment increase that’s quite impressive to get an increase.

Sounds yummy Havoc.

lovely pictures MissC.

Have had an arty day in work today.

Am soooo ready for end of term though!

bizzey · 28/06/2023 21:13

Sooo much to catch up on !!

I think I will have to do separate posts as I keep loosing long ones on my phone!!

bizzey · 28/06/2023 21:14

They will be in no particular order...just I remember!!

bizzey · 28/06/2023 21:19

First up is ...

Our washing machines !!

I think mine is working now...but only on a particular wash !!

I tried it last night with nothing in it ...and it spun !

Got towels in there now so we shall see !!

The program it did not spin on was quick wash and extra spin .

I think it is at the end of days ...but I just can't cope with choosing a new machine right now !

bizzey · 28/06/2023 21:22

Mumtobabyhavoc ....please !!!

I am trying not to look too bloated for the big G day in 4 weeks ....your updates just make me want to go and eat more food 😋😋!

bizzey · 28/06/2023 21:37

Ohhh yes !!
NASA has just launched a jet out of my washing machine ....so I think the drum is spinning..all be it ...not as it should sound !!😂😂!

bizzey · 28/06/2023 21:38

I may have spoken too soon!

We are now onto rinse and spin !

(According to the digital display )

bizzey · 28/06/2023 21:39

This is when it could go wrong 😭

bizzey · 28/06/2023 21:41

I have been very cunning iny plan on testing out the washing machine if my experiment does not work.

It is just the DS's towels !

I can leave them out overnight on the line !!

😂😂😂😂

bizzey · 28/06/2023 21:42

towels are still going out on one overnight whatever the result !!

bizzey · 28/06/2023 21:45

Ohhh man !
I have posted soo many posts !
Sorry !

I am sitting Infront of my washing machine
...just watching it and listening to it !

(I think it is crying out for help !!)

bizzey · 28/06/2023 21:50

No filter thing at bottom.
Just a metal panel.
And alot of rust !!

Come and tell me your dull and unexciting news 25: Calmly through the day
bizzey · 28/06/2023 21:52

Huston.....we have lift off !!

Gahhhh ....so only the 58 min wash works !!

ZZTopGuitarSolo · 28/06/2023 21:52

Quick catch-up. Family came to visit. Family finally left. Absolutely exhausting, and stressed me out to the extent that I ended up unable to sleep. A week after they left my Health app pointed out that for the last 5 days my resting heart rate had been lower. I love them but thank goodness they've gone.

Had a lot of other stuff going on including far too much work and for some reason I signed up for a summer class at the local college so I've been trying to do my homework, and it turns out it's a compressed class so the deadlines are non-stop. And the weather has been atrocious.

I am going to have a nice calming read of everyone's posts, but first I have to walk the dog in the rain.
