Out for a drive in his vintage car! He's literally obsessed with it! Update on my day I've done a cleaning wash cycle in both dishwasher and washing machine! I'm hugely pleased with myself now!

MissConductUS · 09/06/2023 16:12

The vintage car ride sounds like fun. Could he take you to B&Q?

I had a problem with my Miele washing machine a while ago. The repair bloke ran a cycle with no detergent or clothes to remove the soap buildup, and there was a lot. I should do it again.

Aged 18, I spent 3 weeks touring Israel Miss it was incredible, I loved it.

IWanderedLonely · 09/06/2023 20:29

Thanks all for your good wishes, I was touched to read them. Back on an even keel today, tucked up in bed with a Clipper night-time tea. Went for a long walk this afternoon round our local reservoir, mood much improved. Hips probably won't thank me thoughGrin

Mumtobabyhavoc · 09/06/2023 21:01

Nice to hear back from you, Iwandered. Lovely pic. 😊
So happy to know confirmation etc went well Helena. 🥳
Bizzey, quite brave of you to order a dress online! I'm loathe to order any clothing online for myself as it never fits or looks good on me and I always return it. 🤷‍♀️

Did a just before closing grocery shop at Costco last night and came home with some items I rarely buy: chips, salsa, hummus, mini lemon cakes. My fridge is properly full and has endless choices! 😋😋😋 So my dinner (Havoc was asleep by then) was a veggie platter with hummus, chips and (surprisingly very spicy) salsa and a lemon cake. Continuing to re-watch Manifest on Netflix to remind myself of all the little details before I watch the final season. This month of being sick has meant A LOT of tv - I have a pandemic level of movies/series on my list. The one I can't get enough of though is the family friendly Old Enough (Japanese). Incredibly adorable and Havoc is utterly fascinated watching the children. Highly recommend. 😍

HelenaJustina · 09/06/2023 21:41

That’s beautiful Iwandered what a gorgeous day for it.

I love Costco havoc but our nearest is a good 50 minutes away so I let my membership lapse years ago. You are making me nostalgic for a mooch around the warehouse!

bizzey · 09/06/2023 22:09

Iwandered glad you are feeling better today .
That walk looks amazing.....eveny lazy arse would manage a walk like that !!

Mumtobabyhavoc i have no choice but to order on line as I have a complete adversion to shops !

The minute I walk into one I get overwhelmed and have headache !

Can't believe that in my youth I could spend hours browsing in shops literally till closing time !

Mumtobabyhavoc · 09/06/2023 22:35

Bizzey, Ahhh, then online shopping is right up your alley! Let us know how the dress works out! ☺️
You can definitely lose track of time in Costco...so much to look at!

mathanxiety · 09/06/2023 23:11

IWandered ((((( ))))) to you and your mum and DB.

I'm heading to Ikea tomorrow to pick up a few items for DS, who is heading off soon for his residency. I can't remember the last time I was there. It's one of my favourite places to browse through.

The sparrows have discovered the birdbath on the deck.

MissConductUS · 09/06/2023 23:29

Helena, DD is really looking forward to the trip. She's become quite religious and wants to see the Holy Land.

That's a lovely reservoir, Iwandered. It really clears my head when I can walk outside and see the water.

I was able to do my usual walk today and saw not only the crane, but two turtles sunning themselves together. I suspect this is the same two I've been seeing individually.

Glad you are feeling better Iwandered

Awful education meeting, no school at all for September. Another year of nothing. Well their directory of failed methods again, basically home ed by us. So hacked off and let them know. Knew this would happen.

Went swimming and did 100 lengths. Got through to Maudsley and cahms, cahms here on Monday, expecting another broken wall but guy is nice. The idea of moving to the world's most remotest island is becoming more appealing. We are now trying to get work on house done but still hard to get people here.

Have a target of getting blue, green and black bin full this weekend. Really living the dream here. Blue is nearly full. The lady from cahms was very worried about me after meeting so said did I have plans for weekend and I said yes filling the blue, green and black bins. There's also a friend for France in London, hopefully will be able to catch up though not that easy atm but she is lovely.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 10/06/2023 00:20

Silkie, I'm sorry. That is so infuriating. 🤬
Glad you managed a swim to release some stress and have a plan to be productive. It helps with coping.💐

IWanderedLonely · 10/06/2023 08:23

Silkie I'm sorry the meeting was dire & that you have such a rubbish EA/school. 100 lengths is very impressive. I went swimming in the pool on Monday but must be doing something wrong as I came home with neck-ache.
Miss water and nature are so good for lifting mood. The sun helps as well.Wink

Silkierabbit · 10/06/2023 08:50

Thanks both. Sorry you got a bad neck Iwandered

Pictures are lovely MissC

DD woke DH up to tell him the washing machine had flooded downstairs bathroom (bathroom is fine) and that Floof had peed in the tumble drier.

DH has been to the shop at end of our street and bought me a bakewell tart and cup of tea in bed. Floof is very happy with the foil wrapper.

DH was also playing with Floof at 3.30am this morning. Floof looked at him and put his mouth on the toy fishing rod and DH went OK one quick game Floof. Then 5 minutes later I could hear Floof its 3.30am time to sleep Pepere.

Lovely day here.

sueelleker · 10/06/2023 09:19

Silkie; I hope they collect the bins when they're full. We've been having an awful time this year, with loads of missed collections, and excuses and unfulfilled promises to collect "as soon as possible". The worst one was 5 weeks of no household waste collected, in March/April, though I finally got 3 weeks worth of waste and four weeks of recycling collected this Thursday.

bizzey · 10/06/2023 18:22

Ohhh Floof is a character and a half !!😂🤩.

My dress arrived today ( well both but in 2 sizes )

I am so happy with it and the shows and bag to go with it !

It is about 1000 meters too long .(ok ..slight exaggeration I know !)

but I knew it would need taking up.

But it is hot today and I feel comfortable in it which is a good sign .

My new bag that matches is alot smaller than what I am use to so I need to cull my handbag contents !!

bizzey · 10/06/2023 18:23

Shoes 👟👟 obviously!!

bizzey · 10/06/2023 18:24

👠👠 these type but in blue and a much smaller heel !!!!

bizzey · 10/06/2023 18:27

Now to find a seamstress !!

Mumtobabyhavoc · 10/06/2023 18:35

Yea! Bizzey. 😄So glad it worked out!

I've got bedding in the laundry. Will put new mattress protector on bed and wash duvet cover as well. Then will wash bed linens on bed#2. Plan is to then vacuum, wash floors, clean bathroom, take garbage, recycling and compost out then make another pineapple-coconut cake for snacking/coffee and start dinner. It has cooled down considerably here and has been raining since yesterday-thank God!- and is much needed as we haven't had rain in about a month. Wildfires are here in BC as well as back east, which no doubt you've seen on the news. Will also squeeze in a park visit to get some fresh air with Havoc. I think I'm finally turning the corner health-wise. Still fatigued and not breathing dee, but much less congested and almost no cough today.
Havoc is only coughing at night now.

MissConductUS · 10/06/2023 18:51

Havoc, it's great to hear that you are feeling a bit better. I hope it isn't as smokey for you as it was here a few days ago.

Silkie, that's awful about the lack of school provision. I can't believe they can just fob you off like that. Here schools are legally required to provide "an appropriate education" for every student, and they do.

Summer has started, in that we've done our first strawberry picking and bought farm made apple cider donuts. The strawberries are divine, tender and sweet.

I so should have done some laundry today ...but I was was too busy waiting fory new Frick !!

I have a pile ready to go on and out tomorrow as weather is good all week

I have a pile of all our winter hoodies and blankets that can go out and get dried in this lovely heat

I am afraid they are the sort of things that get worn all winter...but washed and dried just once a year when we have a " heat wave " in order to dry them 😂!!

Silkierabbit · 10/06/2023 20:37

Those strawberries look lovely MissC Yes in theory education is provided here and I thought that meant a school but it seems not, they seem to be able to say will provide an online tutor a few hours a week or a farm school both of which he won't do and get away with it. They hadn't even put it in annual review so you can appeal annual review takes 5 school months and appeals are a year delay and 50% of annual reviews are taken longer than 5 months. Meanwhile we are left with nothing he can access. They are saying there is a rule that those who have been an inpatient have to engage with alternative methods before allowed a school but he's asd and has never engaged with alternative methods for him school is for learning, home is for chilling. And for me too. I am currently refusing but was getting like www3 in that meeting. Its going to put him 2 years behind minimum now. We can't escape this system until 25 I think. Can't even pay for private ourselves. Also if I leave him money in my will and he's over 18 state can take all of it if they then force him into a residential option. Thankfully currently did not get will signed so it will pass to DH atm. And child benefit will go as no education in August unless they sort something pronto but they were saying not possible now. Even complaints they reword and reply to their own complaint.

Just done hoovering. Hot here today, around 30C. Dh has mended washing machine. Dd is doing her river job.

halfpasteleven · 11/06/2023 00:31

The system sucks Silkie and the way they cover themselves makes it all so frustrating.
Sending you strength and love. Your DS is lucky to have you as his Mum.
Would a solicitor be any help? I'm sure you are fed up of the whole thing but would a strongly worded letter help to move anything along?

I love online shopping @bizzey - you get to know your size in certain shops and it's so much easier than dragging DC through the shops. Glad you like the whole look and hope you find a seamstress soon.

Glad you're feeling better @Mumtobabyhavoc

Love strawberry season @MissConductUS

Last full day of our holiday today well later today as it's 01.30 here. I will be sad to go back but happy to be home again at the same time.

Lemonsandlemonade · 11/06/2023 06:55

Trying to catch up!

Hi all,

Miss C the strawberries look lovely. I love the summer for all the soft fruits.

Silkie that’s awful re the education of your DS. The LA are really failing him which is so awful.

DS had a lovely second birthday he was so so happy. He has had a haircut and now looks so grown up.

Had a GCSE English exam which went ok but was a shambles with the invigilator and a learner having an argument. 😳. I complained as did another learner in writing and special arrangements have been requested.

off to a farm today with DS and pals
