Silkierabbit .. thank you for asking after me .
And yes ....I do understand the shock of them changing their clothes 😂😂.!!!
It is undescribable!.

DS is 18 ...has already had ECG's , MRI'S , echo cardiogram's ..
So it is nothing new ....

Was just hoping that this little niggle I have been having about him ,did not come to fruition?

So tired sometimes of the battle .

Still ...dinner went down well !

Another DS has come home from the pub ...football ... surprisingly sober ...!😂. And finished off the rest of the crumble !

Apparently..burnt on top ...then left to cook is the way to go !!😁😁😁

HelenaJustina · 10/05/2023 19:10

Only 2/4 DC have activities tonight due to DC2’s being cancelled due to staff sickness. Annoyingly this has not meant any fewer car journeys or less time spent out of the house waiting outside extra-curricular activities.

It is DC3’s birthday in 7 days and DC4’s in 14. I am not ready!

sproutsandparsnips · 10/05/2023 22:14

Just catching up again.
Belated well wishes to Silkie! What fantastic news, and the swimming sounds good!
I went to my swimming class yesterday and was pretty exhausted after it! 2k.
Hope DS ok Lemons
DS1 just about to start GCSEs - he has been working hard fair play.
Love the turtle Miss I only have a heron to share!
Hope you are ok Prok.
Try not to worry Bizzey but easier said than done I know.
Also will share images of Cardigan (went last week for a little trip away).

Helena I feel your pain.
I have four birthdays in the space of just under four weeks. So far there are two down, with two to go. When they were all in elementary school, before the food police took over the school, there was a custom of bringing a birthday treat for the class, and we had a birthday cake at home too. It's still a bit like Christmas in spring, and every few years since 2008 there's been a graduation on top of the birthdays.

HelenaJustina · 11/05/2023 06:44

Yes Math so much cake! A cake for the actual day with siblings and parents then one for the party. Luckily we don’t do whole class parties after 8yrs so it’s just sorting out what they want to do.

Lemonsandlemonade · 11/05/2023 06:48

Lovely pictures sprouts. Cardigan is lovely. Good luck to your DS. I am doing my English GCSE soon it’s quite nerve wrecking.

Silkie well done on your DS having a bath and a change of clothes!

DS on antibiotics for another skin infection which is looking better since medicine.

DH text to say he was Ill as I was driving up from my course. He was shaking uncontrollably unable to move. He was frozen cold too. I was extremely close to ringing 111. He now has a migraine.

bizzey · 11/05/2023 10:11

My rollercoaster is continuing again today !

Had a phone call from the consultant who looked at the ECG from yesterday ....

I have to take him to A&E now !

Something very wrong with his heart !

Luckily the snack cupboard has stuff in it for me to bring with us !!

This is going to be a long day !!

bizzey · 11/05/2023 10:52

Sorry for dragging the thread down !

On a plus note ...
Absolutely lovely day here weather wise !

Silkierabbit · 11/05/2023 11:35

Aww Bizzey Sending love to you and your DS. Hope they can find out what is wrong and solve it easily.

Lemons Sorry to hear about your DH. I would call if its not resolved. Glad your ds is improving.

Lovely photos Sprout and well done on the swimming. Looks like a nice trip away and good luck for the gcses.

We are having jackets for lunch. Had a Portuguese tart this morning. Dd has just gone out for the day.

MissConductUS · 11/05/2023 13:46

Lemons, how is your DH feeling? I would have rung 111. He should really have a follow-up with his GP. The tremors are concerning.

bizzey, any news on your DS? When something is seen on an ECG, they often repeat it to ensure it wasn't something transient.

In much more boring news, a rock hit my windshield (windscreen, I think in British usage) on Wednesday and put quite a sizable crack in it. It's too bad to drive in, so DH is taking me to work and picking me up. I have an appointment to get it replaced on Monday. DH, bless him, looked into the fact that the car has cameras just behind the top of the windshield that often don't do well with the optical quality of replacement windshields, so he has gotten our insurance company to approve the more expensive Subaru replacement. We have full glass coverage with no deductible, thank goodness. Just the windshield is over $900.

Lemons, hoping things turn around quickly for your dh and ds. You dh's sx sound worrying. Any improvement since you posted?
Bizzey, thinking of you and your ds. Keep us posted? Hoping for a good outcome.
Silkie, no swimming today? Are you slacking off? 😉

I'm fighting a cold. Laryngitis since Tuesday afternoon. Sore throat all night last night. Sinuses absolute shit. practically shivering last night despite heated blanket and heating pad then woke up drenched this morning. Hoping it's not the latest covid strain (friend just recovered from it) as I'd be right po'd since I had covid in Feb. kicking myself that I've been relaxing on mask wearing.

Forecast here is for increasing temps into the 30's I've decided 25 or so is the sweet spot for me, so am planning on bitching about the heat. 🤣

Just watching the news on tv. MLA's paid $100 to throw pies at news reporters for charity here. And there is backlash against Fed gov't for changing our passport imagery removing Terry Fox pic has hit a collective nerve. I think I agree. He was one in a million.

Was the Portugese tart a pastel de nata? I love those!

Deathraystare · 11/05/2023 18:38

@sproutsandparsnips

Cardigan looks lovely. Mind you even my neck of the erm woods in West London provides some lovely sunsets!

@Lemonsandlemonade

Re Your poor Husband-There does seems to be a lot of this around at the moment. I had better not get it as I am off to Norway by cruise next Thursday. Yay!

Hope all you poorlies are better soon.

Deathraystare · 11/05/2023 18:58

@Silkierabbit It seems you and I like to live dangerously in our belief that jam, cream then more jam is the scone way, the right way! Makes sense as the jam acts as a 'glue' to the cream.

Now we have 'come out' with it, we will have to go incognito and probably should never visit Devon or Cornwall again as I cannot remember which side of the scone debate is which. Hoping it is Devon as I will be down/up there in December for a Turkey and Tinsel do.

They may be waiting with pitchforks......

Silkierabbit · 11/05/2023 19:01

Have a lovely cruise Death Have you been on a cruise before? I've been on boats a lot but never a cruise.

Sue Yes it was, just a coop one but they are pretty good.

Hope you feel better soon Havoc I would love to swim tonight but we don't like leaving DS alone, well I think he would be OK but DH doesn't and DD is out tonight and tomorrow so likely to be Saturday. Though last time she was here she went out for 15 minutes and came back to DS taking a bath and changing his clothes so it seemed to do him good.

DH has gone to Currys to get a tablet for DS. I did some more hoovering of Floof's hair from the carpet. Watching Below Deck. Ordered some venus flytraps, DS used to love those. He is just helping himself to a drink now.

Deathraystare · 11/05/2023 19:02

Good luck to Bizzey and DS. Hope everything gets sorted.

My friend is in hospital at the moment. Had a stroke. She has a bit of dementia so when I ask any questions, I regularly get told she doesn't remember!

She could not remember how she got into hospital. I gave her my paper which had photos of the Coronation in. She said she missed it but apparently according to her daughter her family had come to see her at home on the day and they all saw it. Her included!!!

Trouble is I keep forgetting words and then ask her what word she thinks it is!!

bizzey · 11/05/2023 19:06

Hi .
So jealous of the Portuguese tart chat !

This hospital has a cafe that does amazing ones a a lovely cup of tea !

It is always my treat to myself when I have to take DS or DM to their medical appointments and stuff.

Especially when I manage to buy the last one 😂😂!

Any how ...thank you for your kind wishes .
We are home with a pizza delivery due !

All told good trip .
5 hours including the 20 mins + queue to just get to 5he reception bit .

Typically...ECG , BP and heart were ok today 😁.

But he has been referred to cardiology.

GP has to organise it as well as an urgent Echogram and a 24 hour heart monitor thing and I have to get in touch with GP .

So , no answers today ...but not being ignored or dismissed .

By pure luck/fluke (?)

I already have an appointment booked tomorrow for DS at GP .

So hopefully wheels can get into motion next week .

Which is fantastic timing for a SEN person to be attempting his first GCSE !! 😁😭😭😭😭!!!

Hope everyone else who have medical issues going on at the moment get results that are good .
X

bizzey · 11/05/2023 19:08

Forgot a paragraph!!

Obviously...I could not sneak off to that cafe to get my little treat ,in case he got called in !!

I was so close ....but so far 😭

bizzey · 11/05/2023 19:10

DS did get me an orange Twirl thing from the vending machine .

I would never have thought to buy it my self.
He bought it by accident.
But...surprisingly ...very nice !

Very refreshing 😀😀!

Happyfuture · 11/05/2023 19:31

Got up at 5am for work, contemplated calling in sick, didn't and went in, got through the first 10 hours n realised it had actually only been 3 hours. Tried to not clock watch for the remaining 5 hours which felt like 20. Had to stop myself from calling a few coworkers idiots (daily occurrence) Came home n the first 3 hours went by in what felt like 15 minutes 🤦‍♀️🤣

Deathraystare · 11/05/2023 19:40

@Silkierabbit

Thanks. Not really Silkie - a few ferries to France and one to Sweden. (A weekend one where we got off and spent a few hours there). The shops were shut but it was snowing so we had snowball fights! The Smorgasboard was delicious!

MissConductUS · 11/05/2023 19:49

Welcome, @Happyfuture , (fab name, by the way), and thanks for sharing your news. Where are you doing a 15 hours shift? Some hospital nurses in the US do three 12-hour shifts per week, but 15 is a lot.

Lemons, was your DH running a fever when he was shaking?

I saw this creature on the banks of the reservoir today. I'm assuming the coloring and plainer plumage indicate it's a female crane. She seemed pretty willing to let me get close without flying off.

I only do 8 hours a day, the last 3 were once I finished work.... Went by in what felt like 15 minutes, story of most of our lives with downtime disappearing in the blink of an eye 🤣

Lemonsandlemonade · 11/05/2023 20:00

Miss C yes he was running a high temperature. He has an awful migraine now and has slept/ stayed in dark room all day. He rang doctor has an appointment in two weeks . He is better but not right.

All the best to your DS Bizzey

MissConductUS · 11/05/2023 20:11

Lemons, that makes it sound like a possible febrile seizure, which are not common in adults. Make sure his doctor gets a complete description of what happened.
