Boring kinda thread?

My parents are not famous but work closely with famous people in a very chaotic environment. I never know where they are or what they’re up to. I texted my dad last week to offer him a book I’d finished and he replied saying sorry he was in Italy. Another time I was supposed to be seeing them with DD and they had to cancel because my dad was busted driving a commercial vehicle into Norway containing illicit substances. He got off with a fine that time luckily. He’s been in locations where famous people have died (multiple ODs), my mum has been publicly drunk with famous people, they’ve got a lot of money apparently but I wouldn’t know.

Consequently I work in a very boring office. It’s not a lifestyle I want to emulate or give to my child.

FrankandWalters · 23/03/2023 20:34

Well, anyone who is isn’t going to identify the person unless it’s some kind of safe ‘ninth cousin twice removed’ type of situation.

LemonLion · 23/03/2023 20:35

I’m distantly related to a famous actor - I think our grandmothers are distant cousins. Never met him though

LemonLion · 23/03/2023 20:36

And seriously. Nobody who is is going to name names.

weebarra · 23/03/2023 20:36

Calvin Harris' sister used to be on here, but not sure if she still is.

Lbnc2021 · 23/03/2023 20:36

Fairly closely related to an ex-prime minister. He’s an insufferable arsehole.

That really doesn't narrow it down 😂

MissDollyMix · 23/03/2023 20:38

DH was related to a very famous actor (he’s dead now, I never met him) He was a ‘national treasure’ type who I’d always admired, but according to MIL he was a serial adulterer and generally an all round not-very-nice person.

Ladydinosaur · 23/03/2023 20:45

My great grandfather was paid to spy on the great train robbers
I don't even know his name-all Google throws up is 'and an unknown man'

Highfivemum · 23/03/2023 20:53

Yes my DH and a very well know celebrity A lister. Although they are a very close relative we have nothing to do with them. Stardom sadly changes people.

Slowsteps · 23/03/2023 20:57

Yes, I am the child of Freddie Mercury and Teresa May. Don’t tell anyone though.

Fleurysur · 23/03/2023 20:58

My mum’s cousin is a celebrated academic

neitherofthem · 23/03/2023 20:59

Does a sister-in-law's husband's nephew count? He's an actor in the States.

Xarrie · 23/03/2023 21:00

Name change and then name names!
