Do your children look alike?

I posted a photo of myself with my sons on Mother's Day and had loads of comments from family and friends about how they don't look at all related. I have actually had a random in a shop ask if they have different dads.

DS1 is slender with blonde hair, green eyes, a dimpled chin, and definitely features from my Dad's side of the family.

DS2 is rounder with dark brown hair, blue eyes, a button nose, and looks exactly like DH.

Do your children have a family resemblance, or are they like mine where you would never guess they're brothers?

Yes.

There are huge age gaps with my three but they all look very similar.

As they get older I have to look closely at photos of when they were at the same age as sometimes when they were under one, the only clue to which one it is is the house decor.

Especially as I am sentimental and kept a lot of ds clothes so his you two younger siblings also wore them.

They all have extremely similar personalities too - especially the 20 year old and the 2 year old. She’s a carbon copy of him at her age.

My two looked similar when they were small but look absolutely nothing like each other now they are early 20s. DS2 is a good 4+ inches taller than his brother too. DS1 has the look of my family about him and DS2 is more like his dads side.

I get asked on a daily basis if mine are twins and I get asked weekly if they're identical.

They are not twins.

My DD is brown haired with brown eyes and look very much like her dad, DS is blonder, with blue (maybe turning green) eyes definitely looks like my side of the family but not so much like me.. more like my brother 😂😂😂

My two DC have strikingly different colouring and face/body shapes but there are certain features that they have in common. Of the four of us, every one has different eye and hair colours!

I only have one child but my brother and I look alike, I used one of those photo apps trust deals your sex and it was just like looking at a picture of my brother! However family resemblance on my dad's side is strong, he has seven brothers and a sister, and they all look alike those close in age are mistaken for twins. I got on a bus was a teenager and the driver said which (my surname) do you belong to?
Henning said that other than red hair those on my mum's side look quite different.

Mine used to look very similar until DD grew her hair long. They still looked similar in winter (under hats and scarves!) until Ds hit puberty and his face shape changed. He looks more like MIL now.

Yes, I struggle to tell them apart in photos sometimes. Everyone always comments how much they look like each other. But at the same time I think in person they look different, I see my DF in my oldest, DHs mum in my middle and my maternal grandmother in my youngest. But all 3 have the same mannerisms.

It’s the same as me and one of my DBs, 3 years apart but could pass as twins as teenagers yet he looks just like my DF and I am very much my maternal grandmother, but put us together and it’s uncanny how much we look alike.

Two girls. One has quite dark brown hair, very curly, with big brown eyes. She is the spitting image of her dad. She’s tall for her age and quite gangly.
The other has straight blonde hair, with very vivid intense blue eyes. She is tiny for her age and graceful - years of dancing mean she carries herself well and moves well.
You’d never guess they were siblings! Totally different in character and abilities and interests as well.

Horrible counsellor from their old primary said they didn't look like brothers. I asked her what she was implying? That Dh wasn't their father? Fucking cheek. Angry

Well I've got ID twins so yes, but weirdly even though they are the spitting image of me (they can open my phone with their faces), one of them looks more like MiL / DHs side of the family to me. To other people who don't know them well they are completely identical.

My two boys look quite similar in terms of facial features, but one has blue eyes and sandy hair, and one has brown eyes and dark hair. It’s difficult to tell baby pictures apart before DS2s eyes changed colour.

We got one each. DD is my double, or actually weirdly more like my mum's double, except with DH's mousy brown hair. DS is just like DH, same cheeky wee grin but with my blonde hair. Other than brown/blonde hair we have the same pale and not very interesting colouring. I don't know if you'd put them as siblings in a line up but certainly wouldn't think they have different dads.

DD1 dark brown hair, dark brown eyes, olive skin. DD2 light blonde hair, blue eyes, white skin. So, on first viewing they do not look alike at all.

However, they are both short, slight build, thin but curvy girls, and have very similar features.

So, on first inspection, people will say they are nothing alike, but when they get to know them better, the similarities become clearer.

DH and his siblings all look very alike but I look nothing like my DSis.

I have 2 girls and a boy, they all have different colour hair and different colour eyes but everyone says they are a clone of each other and me and I am a clone of my dad

My maiden name is extremely common, especially where we live.

My brothers used to work together and people didn't realise they were brothers because they look absolutely nothing alike.

Mine are like chalk and cheese but both like my side of the family! DD is built like the women in her dad’s family, very petite and and has their colouring, but has my features, and ds has my colouring and is very like my dad. It’s quite bizarre! DS and my niece have always been very alike, and as there’s only 5 months between them, were taken for twins a lot when they were small

My sister and I have never looked alike. I'm 60 and she's 5 years younger. Each day that passes I turn more and more into my mother. Something a hate but that's a whole other thread) My sister, on the other hand is the image of our dad.

Conversely my 4 kids all look alike, but non bare any resemblance to me. (No DNA tests needed to prove DH is their dad. I joke that I wonder if I actually had any imput at all? That I'll wake up to find it all a dream! 😃

My sister and I look nothing alike, and DH looks nothing like his younger brother.
However, our Dd looks like my sister and DS looks like Dh's brother.

My eldest son looks most like me out of my 3 kids and has a different dad to my younger two.

Facially my younger two look exactly like their dad so are very similar to each other other than my son having brown eyes and my daughter has blue.

My two boys look nothing alike however my daughter does look a little like my eldest son even tho they have different dads, they both do have blue eyes like me though and similar smiles
