Things you like cooked/made 'WRONG'

I love a floury cheese sauce, especially in macaroni cheese - do not like the cheese pull everyone tries for. Bland and floury please.

I like undercooked pastry, so it's still a bit squidgy...soggy bottom pies are the best!

The burnt/brown crisps that everyone else leaves. Not bothered about 'eyes' on potato products...adds to the crunch! No so much any green bits on chips/crisps but won't leave them either.

I like flat fizzy drinks too, including prosecco/champagne; prefer it, fewer burps!

Slightly undercooked crumble mix.

Buttering toast once it's slightly cooled so the butter doesn't melt.

White wine from the fridge a day or two after opening.

HearMeSnore · 20/03/2023 22:52

My preferred "cheese on toast" is two slices of buttered toast with a handful of cold grated cheese sandwiched between. I don't remember how I discovered it but I much prefer it to grilled cheese.

ClassicLib · 20/03/2023 22:53

I can’t eat eggs which are not properly cooked in any form. I like omelettes cooked through, non-runny scrambled eggs, boiled & poached eggs with the whites fully set etc etc.
I also let my toast go completely cold, so the butter doesn’t melt or soften if I’m having it with jam or marmalade.

Uncooked stuffing tastes so much better than when it's cooked.

kimchifix · 20/03/2023 22:56

This thread is like watching an episode of Dr pimple popper.

The only thing I can remotely think of to go with all the awful spermy egg soggy dough is cheese and onion hula hoops eaten with M&S mini flapjack bites. I don't like either on their own but was starving on a long drive, and that was all that was in the car. I mean it's not cooking but I'm sure that's not how those things are meant to be eaten...

naemates · 20/03/2023 22:58

Parcely pasta like tortellini and ravioli way over cooked so water gets in and pops in your mouth when you bite into it

PerfectYear321 · 20/03/2023 23:00

Oh, you'll love this then, OP

Fried egg, well done on both sides.

Fluffy, crumbly scrambled egg, not runny vomit like consistency.

ChickenMaths · 20/03/2023 23:02

Stale bread especially baguette.

And yes to the misshapen chewy Maltesers!

notangelinajolie · 20/03/2023 23:03

I love Heinz beans that are almost burnt to the pan. I can’t be doing with runny soup sauce. And the toast must be burnt and cold too. Not forgetting lots of Lurpack.
I actually blame my Grandma for this. She was the Worlds worst cook. Beans on toast was her go meal whenever I went for tea and they were always served like this. I guess I’m just hankering after my happy childhood.

And always ice with white wine. Not sure why 🤪

Twofurrycats · 20/03/2023 23:06

Slightly lumpy hot chocolate.

frostyfours · 20/03/2023 23:09

Enjoying this thread Grin

I used to love crispy salmon skins but gone off that now. Mum used to save them all up for me.

When my mum and sister come for a bbq we put their steaks and burgers on 48 hours earlier 😂

eurochick · 20/03/2023 23:14

Well done steak
Rubbery scrambled eggs
Bacon cooked to a crisp.

There is a theme there - I can't stand underdone flabby food.

BeanzToastie · 20/03/2023 23:15

Scrambled eggs here too; runny ones make me feel queasy; much prefer them cooked until they're dry lumps.

ilovepixie · 20/03/2023 23:22

Burned black
Meat
Sausages
Bacon
Bread
Toast
Mushrooms
Onions

Skin on custard

Heronatemygoldfish · 20/03/2023 23:22

Microwaved pasties so the pastry goes soggy
Crozzled bacon only
Yes to overcooked pasta!
Well-cooked eggs always.

This reminds me of a half board ski holiday in France when I was veggie. The hotel just didn't get it and I could only get plain omelettes. Which were not set. Ever. They argued they were supposed to be runny. I didn't care! Kept sending them back....yuk.

LaPerduta · 20/03/2023 23:23

On the other hand I prefer very burnt sausages if eating them.

As opposed to?? 🤔

InconvenientPeg · 20/03/2023 23:24

Over done pasta, skin on custard and the bits out of the end of cereal packets. No-one in the house eats them, they all get saved for me. I'm not keen on cereal, but the dust at the bottom is delicious!

IcakethereforeIam · 20/03/2023 23:25

Cheap toasted white bread, buttered hot so it goes soggy. But especially if one of the puddles of melted butter has cooled and solidified again. So nice.

Toast, orange marmalade and a little spreading of hp sauce.

frazzle66 · 20/03/2023 23:28

Stuffing mix dry or mixed with hot hot water and not put in the oven

Stale malteasers

Burnt sausages

YetMoreNewBeginnings · 20/03/2023 23:32

Cheap toasted white bread. Topped with tinned chopped tomatoes and a plastic cheese slice (the cheap ones that have zero actual cheese).

Called student pizza in my house as I lived on it at Uni. I prefer it to a nice pizza.

also love the pasta of a macaroni to be way over cooked. Like mushy cheesy goodness.

YetMoreNewBeginnings · 20/03/2023 23:32

Salt and vinegar Square crisps also taste better if they’ve been open for hours!

MucozadeOnLucozade · 20/03/2023 23:33

Not putting enough hot water in my pot noodle so it's crunchy!!!!

Justcallmebebes · 20/03/2023 23:41

I can only eat stone cold toast and love lumpy mashed potato

cariaaad · 20/03/2023 23:45

JustGotToKeepOnKeepingOn · 20/03/2023 22:46

Fig roll biscuits that are so stale they're crunchy. Yum!

The opposite please. Open pack of biscuits 2 weeks before you eat them so they get nice and soft. Especially Oreos, don't like them crunchy!
