I included that it happened on the day Jess Phillips read out the list of names of all the women killed by men in the last year.

Me too

And me.

Notonthestairs · 10/03/2023 21:22

Good Lord. I've had a day off SM. What on earth am I reading now? Absolute madness.

tobee · 10/03/2023 21:24

So they're going to show MOTD with no presenters or pundits. Which will just leave footage. Only a limited amount can be shown with contract with Sky etc. Wonder if match commentators and co commentators will take action? 🤔

It has stopped people talking about Sunak’s payments to France

I hope its not this obvious 🙈

What will they do for the 15 minutes half time? Images of the empty pitch, with the soft soothing tones of Suella Braverman talking about her dreams playing over the top?

This has cheered me so much. It shows that sometimes it just takes one person with a platform to take a stand.

pointythings · 10/03/2023 22:10

I'm sure the serious newspapers will keep up the coverage of Rishi's embarrassing deal with France. It is however incredibly heartening to see that the BBC can't show a proper Match of the Day because of its cowardice and corruption.

Ermmm...it's a highlights programme.

So it is. I forgot that, having not seen it since I escaped my childhood , football mad home some 40 years ago.

DuncinToffee · 10/03/2023 22:40

Understand Match of the Day commentators may also boycott tomorrow’s show. Talks taking place with union reps.

Oh dear

Agree…has restored my faith in human nature TBH!

Junior Doctors 72 hour strike starts Monday 7am.

Today at 10pm, Barclay sents out a tweet saying he has invited them for formal pay talks.

It's not like he had weeks of time.

The BMA informed Barclay 10 days ago that was the time to talk to avert strikes.

Anyone know how to hide a thread. The 'not voting labour' one has been reanimated after 1000 scintillating posts. I know I could just ignore but I can't help myself from biting.
Can anyone also explain why in the midst of all the political/economic chaos caused almost entirely by the government there isn't a thread about not voting
tory ? What's happened to the old slightly left leaning MN of the mid 2000s ?

IClaudine · 10/03/2023 23:46

The Gary Linekar thread is fairly revolting too, although lots of decent posters fighting the bigots on there.

I think there is a thread about not voting Tory?

What's the source for that @DuncinToffee ?

Interesting to see the front pages for tomorrow. The Express is going with the Sunak deal as it's big splash (assuming it sticks with that for all editions). Presumably they think it has a positive spin. Shows they're serious or some such thinking.

tobee · 10/03/2023 23:50

Everyone, else that I can see, going for MOTD.

IClaudine · 10/03/2023 23:52

Wouldn't it be amusing if ex-footballers were the catalyst that brought down the government!

You can unwatch a thread or remove it from the 'i am on' list'
press the 3 little dots in the right top corner.
