I'm seriously considering cancelling my TV license DD. I can live without watching BBC programmes and I never watch live TV anyway.

DuncinToffee · 11/03/2023 00:30

And managers as well according to the Independent

twitter.com/MiguelDelaney/status/1634325066082123779?t=LMtypS-sDRzR9xTX6gHYdQ&s=19
To be added to story

understand a number of clubs have major concerns about allowing their managers and players be interviewed for Match of the Day tomorrow as fallout continues

PerfectYear321 · 11/03/2023 00:41

The obvious bias of Fiona Bruce (she with the Tory donor husband) used to piss me off to the extent that I never watched Question Time until the Tories shit the bed so badly that even she is trying to hold them to account a little. Then Nicholas Witchell and his blatant attacks on Harry and Meghan pissed me off further. This Gary Lineker saga is the last straw because FFS why are people like 'Sir' Alan Sugar allowed to 'back Boris' and criticise the unions and their job is safe? Lineker makes an innocuous accurate statement and they want him to step down? They've gone too far and if I can't ever watch Strictly again I'm sure I'll get over it.

Wouldn't it be amusing if ex-footballers were the catalyst that brought down the government!

And David Attenborough. My son and I just had exactly that conversation.

tobee · 11/03/2023 04:21

Reading Twitter and wondering where everything will be re BBC in 24 hours.

tobee · 11/03/2023 04:35

Really hope Sharp, Davie et al are unable to sleep tonight.

They were brilliant during covid.

I really do think they are a driving force for good.

Meanwhile, the DV charity Refuge have released a statement supporting Fiona Bruce.

Be interesting to see if Klopp etc just limit this to MOTD but do talk to 5Live. Anyone heard of 5Live going ahead as normal? Football Focus etc?

Roussette · 11/03/2023 07:11

tobee · 10/03/2023 23:46

What's the source for that @DuncinToffee ?

There are no presenters, no pundits, no commentators and some players refusing to give post match interviews.

Hadn't thought of this. No mention of other programmes that I can find.

Well said.

The BBC really need to sort themselves out with one rule for one, another rule for another.
Alan Sugar continually tweets right wing crap, yet he's on telly next Thursday! No rebuke for him. No pulling of the Apprentice. Yet he has continually criticsed Mick Lynch, he used to bang on about Corbyn, The trouble is Sugar is not directly employed by the BBC, it's his programme he sells to the BBC... but does the public know that or care? No. He is on the BBC with a programme, how that programme gets there is irrelevant.

Put this on another thread but I like it so will share with a more receptive audience...

Oh hell... I was about to dive in, but I don't want to get depressed today.

I read it up until last night, haven't caught up yet. I'm wondering if knitting or needlepoint might suit me a bit better than MN...

Saucery · 11/03/2023 08:00

I can confirm that you can still knit while MNing. State of the threads these days means your tension will be wildly out of whack though Grin

I had a quick peek and I'm going to go for a tramp round the fields instead. It blows the cobwebs out and resets me!

Just in case anyone needs it.

In fact it probably deserves its own thread.

It gets worse. Now the BBC have wheeled out Andre Neil for his opinion!
