She was moaning about lecturer strikes last week!

The thing we know for absolute certain tomorrow, whatever happens, whatever questions are asked, Boris Johnson will think he has been poorly treated. I'm not sure I can bring myself to watch his trademark incredulous face pantomime.

Totally agree with this.

He is a victim (in his eyes) purely because anyone is questioning his actions.

Roussette · 22/03/2023 06:57

Yes. No one should question him. Not those who work for him, those that are junior to him, friends, wives, family, anyone... he is an awful, entitled arrogant pr**k.

His housemaster said this about him back in 1982. Amazing, nothing has changed.

So is anyone taking one for the team today? I couldn't find blood pressure medicine strong enough to get me through 4 hours of his shite without having a rage induced heart attack.

Notonthestairs · 22/03/2023 07:29

Interesting that Johnson announced this morning that he'll vote against Stormont Break. Looking again to destabilise Sunak.

Meanwhile it looks like Martin Reynolds advised against saying all guidance was followed - Johnson ignored him.

"Boris Johnson told Commons covid guidance was followed 'at all times' despite being warned by senior adviser it was 'not realistic'

Johnson deleted reference from opening statement - but used it again 30mins later during debate"

I am, up until I have to go to the dentist! I will probably be grateful to leave because his pathetic "the big boys made me do it" schtick will be infuriating.

That Times article has made me see red. Not sure my BP is up to this.

His statements and excuses in that article are incredible.

I am hoping he trips himself up today. In the article it talks about his aide saying he should not say in HoC 'all guidance was followed'. So he deleted it from his speech but then his mouth ran away with him and he said it when he should not have done.

I was planning to but bloody work got in the way.

Notonthestairs · 22/03/2023 08:04

Its not just that his mouth ran away with him - he didn't correct the record when he had ample opportunity. He kept the lie going. Still is.

itsgettingweird · 22/03/2023 08:07

I'll be at work and then have to take to the garage afterwards and walk home.

I'm relying on you lot for a comical (despite it not being funny) run down of the days events.

I've just watched Peter Bone try and defend Johnson on GMB. Let's hope Johnson is better at defending himself (or rather I hope he isn't iyswim?!)

L1ttledrummergirl · 22/03/2023 08:29

I'm in and out today but will catch what I can.
I suspect we may need a new thread before tonight, if anyone can come up with a name.

Oh yes, please do a new thread someone!

Today's events are going to be ... ummm.... thread worthy?

Not sure if I am back in time or can stomach it.

Inflation is up to 10.4%

Notonthestairs · 22/03/2023 08:41

Apparently inflation is down to salad. The lettuce strikes back.

I read yesterday that the Committee will hold off giving their recommendations until after the May elections (so as not to influence them).

So if the Conservatives don't do well in May and Sunak is under pressure the Johnson contingent WILL stir up trouble ('Our True Leader') and simultaneously the Committee might recommend a suspension.

At which point I can see Government grinding to a halt again whilst the Conservatives slug it out between themselves again.

Blossomtoes · 22/03/2023 08:42

DuncinToffee · 22/03/2023 08:39

Inflation is up to 10.4%

That’ll be the effect of Johnson’s hot air.

I hope someone will take one for the team as I’m out all day. I’m pretty gutted to be missing it. As my blood pressure is low, it would actually do me good.

Cornettoninja · 22/03/2023 08:42

Inflation rising catching out experts, NI vote due, Russia and china cosying up and bumbling bunter still making sure all eyes are on him because god forbid he take responsibility for his own actions and let the country concentrate on bigger issues.

DuncinToffee · 22/03/2023 08:55

Liz Truss will also vote against the Windsor Framework (Sky)

Notonthestairs · 22/03/2023 08:59

I thought Sunak did a decent job with the Windsor Agreement. But I guess it isnt about what is workable/practicable - it's about what advantages the individual politician's career. What a mess.

IClaudine · 22/03/2023 09:00

I don't think I can stomach 4 hours of that idiot doing his innocent buffoon act

Meanwhile one of the finer points of *unts budget will target people with children on UC has become more apparant Get those lazy sods working more hours! Why didn't he highlight this in the budget speech I wonder.

The MN benefit bashers will love it though. Expect a few threads on it.

Sunak did do a decent job on the Framework and in restoring communication with the EU, it's the ERG holding this country hostage.

DuncinToffee · 22/03/2023 09:07

I don't mind starting a thread on party gate even if I probably can't contribute much. I was thinking of putting it in politics and keeping it boring/factual rather than turning it in a aibu Boris love fest.

What do you all think?

Sounds good to me although I’m sure the Boris fan girls will still find it. Could you link to it here if you do?

DuncinToffee · 22/03/2023 09:10

Patel and IDS also voting against the Framework
