I think it would be a lot of people tuning in to see how the hell the BBC will handle it!

Yup. Apparently it was incredibly boring so the increase is unlikely to last if it’s not resolved soon.

"potty tory mps this morning are like 'really enjoyed match of the day last night on my television set. it was so refreshing to just sit back with a glass of lager beer and watch my team spurs city wanderers do their soccer goals without all that lefty analysis'"

Ridiculous! I am laughing at it all. That idiot Grimes is banging on about what a fantastic programme without 'jugs' wittering on.

He really is as thick as they come...

Another tory roll back. They really don't like living in the 21st century do they. So back we go to when tv was inaccessible to people with visual impairments and the tories are loving it.

I'm hearing Richard Sharp will resign by the end of the day

Hopefully he’ll take Davie and Gibb with him.

Notonthestairs · 12/03/2023 12:14

That would be excellent but I don't think the Government could cope with losing all their men at once.

Blossomtoes · 12/03/2023 12:26

That’s true.

It does seem odd that everyone is saying how great MOTD is without commentary - when it really then is just the match!!!

If they cared that much about the game they'd watch it whole via tv or at the match itself.

Notonthestairs · 12/03/2023 12:51

Wonder what position they'll set Sharp up in next? NHS? I'm only half joking.

They're making it up. It wasn't better. It was odd.

When Tim Davie sat-in on a Newsbeat programme, his feedback afterwards was simply: “Needed to mention the Conservatives more”

Man of the people, read the room Sunak!

www.theguardian.com/politics/2023/mar/12/rishi-sunak-has-electricity-grid-upgraded-to-heat-his-private-pool

Rishi Sunak’s new private heated swimming pool uses so much energy that the local electricity network had to be upgraded to meet its power demands, the Guardian has been told

I see the boris fan club has gotten back together on that other thread Grin

Just waiting for the reappearance of Keir's beer.

Watch this space. The right loathe JoB and are always taking potshots at him.

I know everyone’s entitled to their opinion but my god it’s frustrating that their interpretation of reactions against theirs doesn’t register as a reflection of what they contribute to the world.

you can see why the current cabinet resonates with them.

It's very Orwellian.

itsgettingweird · 12/03/2023 14:37

I find it most fascinating that it's always loads of bold, italics and links without much substance.

I agree it's Orwellian.

There no attempt to discuss the rhetoric or the language used.

Just an attempt to shut the discussion down by picking up on one word out of context of flying with it.

DuncinToffee · 12/03/2023 14:42

Another one for the BBC's complaint department

twitter.com/TheBMA/status/1634913304870268928?t=QUQQ3lXU9EgwSqY3zJu_6w&s=19

This morning’s @NickTriggle piece for the BBC contains a number of misleading claims about the BMA’s upcoming industrial action.

First and foremost, we are not “demanding the biggest pay rise”—we’re demanding that our members’ pay be restored to what it should be.
