You were great on that thread too. It's beyond infuriating that people can't understand simple fact because "but the the DM tells me x y and z."

People cannot seem to understand that most people are very worried about the small boats - just humane ones want it improved by a better system. Not by sentencing asylum seekers to almost definite death under the proposed system.

I was gently trying to persuade some posters to educate themselves about the laws around asylum seeking. Progress may have been made as the word illegal seems to have been dropped for the most part this morning.

I sceptical for one poster on another thread who told me I was wrong for saying people who watch JGWs video and still use the word illegals must be idiots or unwilling to be educated.

Their response was it's wrong to insult people who want to choose what language they use.

So apparently now it's ok to use whatever language you regardless of the law. We really are plummeting into the depths of the 1930's here and the general public in some cases are assisting our government in doing so.

I refuse to believe any of these sudden MOTD watchers have ever watched it before.

If their viewing figures go up, I'll suspect there was a whip to watch it to circumnavigate the boycott.

The idea that Redwood has ever watched MOTD is laughable.

I don't understand what some posters think they achieve by constantly posting lies.

Getting others to believe them. Approval. Allowing others to feel their views are valid and shared. It was like all the disinformation threads that appeared on the Covid board and never got deleted It winkles other people out.

There were some excellent explanations of the benefits of Foreign Aid to the UK on that thread. And some very funny responses.

I heard on the radio that viewing figures were the highest in several months. I’m assuming it’s a combination of political whipping, extreme right wingers and perhaps some manipulation of the figures by the BBC.

And curiosity.

I think they prefer to just hate immigrants. It is easier than being brave enough to challenge their prejudices.

I think it would be a lot of people tuning in to see how the hell the BBC will handle it!
